I will NEVER go to this place ever again!!! I scheduled an appointment at 11AM and had to leave at 1130AM because they were taking people that came in after me and seating them first. As soon as I entered I told them I was there for my 11AM appt pedicure and they told me to pick a color and it'll be a few minutes. I understand if others that were coming in had appts scheduled for 11AM but seat on first come for that appt time. I asked several of those that were being seated before me if they had appts and they said no they were walkins and told to come at 11AM! Why tell people to come back at 11AM if you have people scheduled at that time? The most frustrating part is when I told them I was leaving politely, they looked at me like I had the problem. I have been a client since Urban Chic opened. I love their services, but after today I will not be returning. They claim to accept walk-ins, but that is not really true. I don’t have the luxury of always making appointments for something like nails and have been turned away at least 5 times for not having an appointment. Got a pedicure here when I could not make it to my normal go to nail salon. It's a pretty salon and I was offered water and I believe I could've selected wine. I really wanted to like this place but I was disappointed that the my polish on my French pedicure started chipping after 2 days. Two toes the white polish was completely gone. The pedicure itself was a nice experience but I can't choose based on that part alone. Typically a pedicure lasts atleast 2 weeks for me and at times it's lasted much longer at my regular salon. I visited this place bc of good reviews but I was very disappointed in the quality of work. The massage was limp, almost like an annoying tickle. There was soap on the floor and I slipped and the polish smudged, I asked them to fix it and he just polished on top of the smudge, my toes were only partially painted and made my nail beds look small. My shellac polish chipped on the second day. Normally I would return to have it fixed , but it was Christmas Eve. Not ever going back! Have been going to Urban Chic since right after they opened. I have noticed that in the last couple of months that their towels have become shabbier. The workers sleep in the pedicure chairs. Stations are left messy. The final straw was my last session. I was going over to Europe so I decided to have pink and white done so that it would not look as bad growing out for the 24 days I would be gone. Well, the first day I was away all my white tips tur...ned black. After washing my hands they went greyish. As the days went on they just got worse, the white just kept fading away. It looked as though I had been cleaning soot from fireplaces. Was so embarrassing to greet people and shake their hands. And this was a trip where I had to do that quite often. I love how roomy this location is. I also love the massage chairs and how you can control the different settings with the remote. Everyone that works here is super nice and you are always offered a free refreshment while you get your nails done (red or white wine, soda, or water). They give you a "menu" when you get seated in your massage chair, so you can review all the options. I love how they have seasonal mani/pedis -- my most recent visit had a pumpkin spice one! I called the salon and let them know we were on the way and they informed me that they had 2 openings at 10:30. We walked in at 10:20 and both of the employees were rude. The woman says "what do you need". No good morning or hi. Then the man came over and I said "I just spoke to a man on the phone", he claimed he just got there 5 min ago so there was no way I spoke to a man. What a great experience, and also - do yourself a favor and make a reservation, especially on Sundays! In the hopes of inducing labor (sadly it didn't work), I went in for some self care of a mani/pedi. UrbanChic has great reviews, so I thought I'd treat myself to somewhere new and different.The atmosphere is great - comfortable massage chairs for the pedicure and you get your manicure done at the bar (where you can get drinks - something I'll have to come back to enjoy at a later date).They have seasonal pedicure flavors to choose from, though I opted for the Modern Mani/Pedi combo package. The staff was warm and friendly and respected that I was there to read a book during the pedicure so didn't force conversation (which I appreciated).Smart on their part, the staff asks if you want to pay prior to them polishing your finger nails. I had been going to a different nail place down the road and been continuously disappointed in the services. My last straw was walking in to see how long the wait was for a mani/pedi, sitting nearly 30 minutes and no one even acknowledging me -- even though several staff made eye contact with me. I was DONE. (Mind you, I am 9mo pregnant so I have a very short tolerance for nonsense right now haha)So I did a quick search for another nail place on Yelp and UrbanChic Nail Bar popped up. The photos looked great on Yelp, so I gave it a try. Called and got an appointment right away. This one is a bit closer to my house, which was bonus points!When I walked in, I immediately knew this place was my 'new' nail place. It was super clean, very trendy feeling and someone acknowledged me the second I walked in the door -- how refreshing!! :) I first sat down for a pedicure and my tech was Joseph. I don't think I have ever laughed that hard, or had a more enjoyable pedicure before. It was just the type of relaxation I needed before I give birth. The pedicure products were amazing (I did the urban chic organic pedicure with hot stone massage....WORTH EVERY PENNY $49). I also got a manicure with Joseph, which was just as wonderful. Did I mention they serve wine?? (Which, as soon as I have this baby, I will be looking forward to enjoying a few hours to myself to get mani/pedis with a glass of wine on the regular!!) This place is in the Main Street Square of Holly Springs; has some cute shops around the area to check out, but this place is the main attraction for the area in my opinion! Stopped in here today on my way to do some shopping in Apex, and got a gel manicure. The salon decor is really cool and the workers are friendly. Hannah did my manicure and she did a great job!! I will definitely be back!! The only cons about this place are the parking and the stools are a little awkward if you're a clumsy tall chick. Lol. Went this past weekend with my friend for my bday. They were very sweet and even sang to me and another girl whose bday it was! Service was on time (we made an appt) pedicure was perfect and gel manicure came out excellent. Last minute I asked if they could wax my brows and they did no problem...and did the best wax job I have ever had! My gel polish chipped 3 days later :( usually when I come here it lasts a month almost. It was probably just the polish. Called today and they said they would fix it no problem! Really, really great. Clean facility, friendly staff. I had a pedicure and a gel manicure. Pedicure is still perfect and I just had my first chip on the gel manicure...17 days after I got it. That's pretty much unheard of for me, since I'm hard on my hands. Definitely coming back!!
