I have been to Sarah for wax services 3 times now and I honestly keep coming back because of her. She is very sweet makes sure Im never in discomfort while working quickly but precise. Waiting for my name to be called for my Mani/Pedi I had an appointment for 10:00 AM. It is currently 10:52  at 10:15 when I asked the girl what was going on because I booked for 10:00 she said "oh it looks like it is now 10:45" and no one tells you the appointment time changed?! I am only still sitting here because I'm from out of town and received this as a gift card from my friend who lives here and if I don't stay I'll waste the gift card. I told her I only want the pedi now as I've wasted 2 hours of my life sitting here (since 9 AM when my friends appointment was booked for) this is poor customer service, if you book 2 appointments for the morning you should have enough staff on hand to fulfill the appointments. This is such a waste of my last day in town, also I'm here to visit my friend who is currently in the room having her mani/pedi done so it's not like I'm even spending quality time with her. I don't know why this place doesn't have 5 stars already. I paid for my wife to have a spa day for her birthday and she loved every bit of it. The staff was very professional and my wife said the service was great. It was a very simple process to go in and talk to someone about the packages and I was in and out in a matter of minutes and I didn't have to call a bunch of people to get it done. My fiancé booked this for my 🎈 birthday! This by far was the best experience yet. The spa was excellent. The massage was so relaxing I didn't want it to end but the free extras afterwards really made it feel worth the 120! Free use of the sauna and steam room. Also secluded "relaxation" room and nice jet shower afterwards made the experience 5 star in my opinion! It was private and no one rushed me ... Definitely will come back and if monthly is your thing... I think it's definitely worth the $60-70! Wish I could go back once a month! Read Less

I can't speak for the other services at this location, but the massage was of low quality the previous two times I went here. I have a lot of tension in my shoulders and neck due to stress from work, and also have lower back pain due to injuries. Therefore I look at a massage as a medical necessity. When I first started getting massages here in 2009, I would usually get a 30 minute massage due to the cost, and I found the therapists to be mostly adequate. Yet when I went about 2 years ago, the therapist started out by saying how a 30 minute massage was a "tease" and that I needed a longer one to get the full effect. Well I explained that I just did not have the money being a teacher and all. Throughout the massage she frequently talked and seemed to complain that I was not releasing enough tension. She then told me I needed to come back to get pedicures and manicures. Upon leaving I did not feel relaxed but bewildered and disoriented. About a year later my back was in pain so I decided to give them another shot. I scheduled a 60 minute massage, but the therapist was late and looked like she was about 17. After starting on my back she saw how tense I was and left to get some heating pads. I know this is common practice, but this has only taken a minute or two in past sessions. She stopped frequently throughout the massage to apply heat which in all probably wasted about 15 minutes of a $90 massage. She was unable to really loosen up the tightness in my back. In conclusion, I feel massages at this location are treated as some sort of relaxing treat, and the therapeutic focus is low. I now go to Kneaded energy. Their massages are of high therapeutic quality and Guilford county employees, including teachers, get a discount. So a massage at Kneaded Energy is $20 cheaper and many times better. So extremely pleased with my experience with Balance Day Spa. When I called a month in advance to schedule a massage they were so friendly and informative. Once we arrived they were extremely welcoming, showing us where we can change into robes, and the sauna that was available for all guests to use. My massage therapist's name was Anne Marie and my mother's massage therapist's name was Rebecca. Both women made us feel comfortable and welcome. I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A THOROUGH MASSAGE IN MY LIFE! Kat was absolutely amazing! I'm from out of town (Boston) and needed to book a massage quickly and without fuss! I phoned up at 9:45 and was able to book for 11:30. Everything about the spa was positive: location, ambiance and staff. But Kat made my day. Not only was she warm and personable but I've NEVER had a massage quite like what I experienced. It was amazing, magical even. By the time we finished my 50 minute massage, I felt like a brand new woman. All pain was gone. I went just this morning to have my brows waxed for the first time at this salon. SARA was absolutely fabulous! I've had my brows done for many years. Though I typically go to the same salon, I have been to several others in the past too because I haven't been able to get a convenient time for an appointment. The most amazing thing here was the amount of time she spent doing my brows!!! It wasn't the typical slap on wax, rip, a few plucks and trim. After calling another Spa in Greensboro and being told they have age restrictions, Tammy, the Spa's event coordinator was a dream come true. She helped turn my vision into a fabulous party. April, the nail technician and Sarah, the esthetician made my daughter and her friends feel like princesses. I have never been disappointed here! The staff is amazing and so friendly. I develop an immediate calmness the moment I walk in the door. My esthetician, Abby, is the greatest! Me and my wife went about 3 yrs ago and it was so calming, relaxing environment, then walked in Terrell Owens (TO) I wanted so bad to ask for a pic with him but the atmosphere was so relaxed and I did not want to ruin his groove. So you know if he goes up in there it's got to be a highly recommended. Only thing I did not like is that I bought a hr massage gift card and wanted a friend to experience this place and they made me pay an extra $10 as they went up on their prices for half hr. in which I had done that before by an hr. and bring a friend to give them more customers and never had that problem, that was the last time I've been. I was in the Greensboro area for business and called to see if I could get an appointment last minute. The staff at Balance were very nice and helpful at trying to get me accomidated. I went in for a massage, which was great, and ended up upgrading to a facial and manicure. The staff was great and made my trip worth it. Next time I am back in town I will stop by Balance again!
