I don’t usually write bad reviews. But I went to this place last night for a gel manicure. I was a walk in as well but called in an hour before hand and asked if they accept walk ins. I ended up going to a restaurant next door and literally walked over afterwards. Just for back story purposes,I worked at a cosmetology school for a year and a half so state board standards are drilled into my head. I also work in the industry as a licensed esthetician. They told me to sit at ...a station and it looked like a client had just gotten up and left. I sat down and assumed that the technician would clean it and replace the hand towel and tools. But I was wrong. She immediately started working on my nails. I’m not the type to make a big deal out of things so I just started talking about my experience in the industry,hoping she would get the hint. She used a nail file that was already sitting out. Her cuticle nippers didn’t come out of a marvicide jar. I asked for a gun metal/metallic black color. She started using the chrome powders on me. I wasn’t into them,and I made it clear. She then decided to do multiple colors on me. I kept saying that I’ll just still to plain old black and call it a day. She gave me attitude on picking a color,even though I stated that I just wanted black. She didn’t remove the chrome powder either. She just put the black gel on top. So now I’m at work and the top black gel is peeling and the chrome powders are so obvious and it looks terrible. I called asking for a refund but they said no and they would fix it. I went here to try somewhere different. See what else is out there. Overall my nails weren't bad but the whole experience was horrible!! An older lady did my nails start to finish in maybe 20 min! I wanted a full gel manicure. She hardly did much to my nails except cut them and the utensils she used came out of a crayon box..not a fresh pair. That to me is not sanitary! After she put the polish on my nails she left me there and started on someone's toes! I asked if I was done? I was told yes, they didn't wipe them off like they do at other salons or massage my hands with lotion. Went to check out she was just standing there..  I asked how much? Gave her my card. She tells me to sign ..I asked do you have a pen? She gives me a pencil.  The place looked dirty and I will never go back here again! Waste of time Read Less

A few things - ONE) I was in and out of this salon in record time!! Upon walking in, my nails were unpainted - so I only came for a coat of gel polish. It took about 15 minutes to get in and out.I didn't love their color selection, it wasn't huge, but I did find a purple that I liked. Good thing I liked it because TWO) This polish/their technique allows it to stay on for forever!! I had my nails painted this color for nearly 3 months (due to a traveling and medical situation in which I couldn't remove the polish from late April to mid-July!) I ended up removing the gel polish at home, and really, it does minimal damage. My nails are still long and strong! I was embarrassed of my talons...this was about 2.5 months of wear (not recommended cause it's ugly, but it didn't damage my nails in any way) But I've had my nails done dozens of times at different salons, and max wear has always been about 3 weeks. Just had my nails done here. An older lady probably in her 70's did my mani and pedi. She was unfriendly, and left my nails jagged. I can get past unfriendly, can't tip on jagged nails. Skip this place, there are better places in Garner. As I'm writing this review, I'm realizing that my nails weren't even sealed properly and are still sticky. This is ridiculous!! Read Less

If you are looking for a hidden gem nail salon this is the place. One of my friends has been coming here for years and has always had a great experience. My sister in law right before her and my brother's wedding went to a place and wasn't satisfied at all and I took her here and Quang did an outstanding job and it was just what she wanted. I am done with Tango Nails! I scheduled an appointment with Quang and requested gel nail overlay which I have been wearing for many years. He told me he does gel nails and instead of putting gel on my nails, he proceeded with acrylic! Then put gel polish on over it. When I went back to my regular nail technician, she immediately told me it was acrylic. That's terrible to be dishonest to customers. If you don't do gel, just say you can't do it! I have been going here for almost 4 years now and I honestly would not go anywhere else to get my nails done! It is honestly worth the 20 minute drive from Lincoln. The staff are super friendly and always do an amazing job! Best mani/pedi’s in the game! Lani always makes my nails look on point; she’s seriously the Picasso of nails. Our appt was at noon and i didn't start until 1230 (which is ok) BUT my friend was left with foil on her toes for an hour! I went to Tango for the first time today.  It was recommended to me by Angie @ Angie's.  Everyone was very nice to me and I didn't have any problems with walking in and getting my nails done.  In fact, they went out of their way trying to make my pedi color and my nail color match since my nails were done in gel polish and my toes regular polish.  I think those other reviews must be totally off their rocker.  I would give them a 5 if I'd been there more often so I could compare visits.  For now, I have no complaints and don't expect any. I was so offended.  I was a walk in on July 4th.  A lady, I am assuming she was the owner, was standing near the door and wouldn't even let me in, even though the open light was on and they had customers in the chair. She asked what I wanted done.  I told her a mani/pedi. She looked me up and down disapprovingly and asked if I was paying credit or cash.  I told her credit and she told me no credit, closed the door.  (Mind you there were already customers inside and customers after me). I am convinced that she would have rejected ME no matter what, which is terrible because I normally visit much nicer salons and this was just a whim.  Bottomline: I will never beg someone to spend my money and will never visit Tango Nails again. I called to make an appointment with this business. The woman who answered was very rude and acted as if I was bothering her. I attempted to make an appointment, then asked if they were located in the Kroger shopping center. She said they were, so I asked what store they were next to, as I had never noticed them.She said, "Across from Target." Well, that wasn't helpful as most of the stores in the center are 'across from Target.' I decided to just wait and find it for myself.I then said (for the appointment), "My name is-"She hung up on me. How the heck can they have me down for an appointment if they didn't even ask my name?I decided to go elsewhere. The manicurist, Quan, did an okay job for a gel fill but the product he used did not have any identification on it. Also, he put some of the gel product on my skin which is a big no-no. My pedicurist was terrible. She was barely paying attention to her work and seemed to rush through the process. I didn't feel the work was worth the price of the pedicure much less a decent tip. I usually am a good tipper but strongly believe that the work performed has to merit the tip. I don't just tip 15% because it's standard. The salon was also unkempt and didn't clearly display manicurist licenses or cleanliness grade levels. I wouldn't return there. These are things to consider when checking out a salon: (all from WRAL's website; I couldn't attach the link here) ""A few red flags that suggest consumers might want to try a different salon: * They use unmarked bottles. * The technician can't tell customers what's in the products. * The products smell unusually strong or strange. * The technician scrapes or cuts customers? skin. ""Experts said that, during a proper gel manicure, the technician uses a file to barely roughen the top of the fingernails, then rushes an all-in-one gel onto the nails, not the surrounding skin. Then, they use a UV lamp to harden the gel. But experts warn that most of the ingredients used in nail products are not tested for safety by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration before they're sold.
