I had a horrible experience at a different salon my nails were already lifting after the first day so I looked on google for a different salon and this was the first one that popped up! The atmosphere was so friendly and amazing, I even spoke to the owner and he was very kind and welcoming. The took such good care of me and for such a great price too!! I expected to pay double than what I actually did. Emily was very sweet and took extra care to make sure I was happy with what she doing always asking me if I was happy with her work. Im not from here I'm visiting from Hawaii and I'm actually a little sad I'll be leaving soon because I wont be able to keep coming back here. Friendly owner who stays on top of his staff to insure service is quick, but well done. (Ie - you are going to get a tech who is best at your service, not the same one from beginning to end). Very efficient and insures a premium job well done.  My pedicure was long overdue, I needed a fill on SnS nails and all were done well.  There was a problem with one nail, the tech noticed it and corrected it without being asked.  I have a feeling they are slightly more expensive than other salons (I am from out of town) but you get what you pay for.  This shoppe is worth what they charge.  Pay it and you'll be happy. I've been going to this salon since it opened and every two-three weeks since. It's a clean establishment (very clean) with a huge assortment of colors to choose from. For a "walk-in" place I've never had to wait more then 15 minutes. The staff and owner are very friendly! My daughter and I have had several different staff members there and all of them have done a great job. We've enjoyed manicures, pedicures and waxing ... all done to our satisfaction. I heard this place was the only salon worth going to in Elizabeth City. I was disappointed. Within a week my nail polish was flaking on my toes and my fill in was lifting off my nail bed. Although the nail techs are super nice, the price was not worth the service given. My fill ins and pedicure usually last 4 weeks before needing to be reapplied. I went to a different place to have them correct the damage done to my nail bed by Tip Top. In the end, I will not be going back. I will be driving out of my way to Virginia Beach. Read Less

Went with my daughter for a mani-pedi last Saturday, January 2, 2010. The shop was fairly empty but they did not have many technicians despite the inordinate numbers of chairs they had. We were seated at the pedicure station and a female tech started on my daughter while I sat there. Shortly therafter, the place started to fill up quickly with walk ins with problems. The female tech finished my daughters pedi and took off to start new clients and never came back to her. My daugher had to wait in the pedi chair with no tv or magazines for at least 50 minuted while a male tech who had hands of sandpaper did my pedi and mani.My pedi was ok. The mani was horrible. The male tech did not clean the nails after the hand massage which by the way felt as if my hands were being scrubbed with hard sandppaper. He did not hot towel the cream into my legs or my hands. And he did not clean up the nail polish that ran over into the cuticles. He completed my daughter's mani which was a french mani. Not onely was she horrified by his rough hands(she is 11 years old) but the white of the french mani looked like a drunken highway line painter did it.There was a tv in the salon, but it was tuned to a Korean or Chinese channel. There were no magazines, and we were kept waiting in between services for too much time.It was very obvious to me that these people are only interested in the dollar since they were very motivated to start on the new people that came in to hook them, Meanwhile, we were just left sitting there until one of them was free and they gave us the worst technician they had.This place scores extremely poor on nail care and technique, poor customer service and lack of courtesy and respect towards customers. I have had mani pedi's in every type of setting you can think of- from private home sessions, to Elizabeth Arden Salon in NYC to little store fronts in Chinatown, NYC. NEVER , have I had such a horrible experience. PS both our manicures lasted less the 4 days, the pedi's look okay so far.Sorry to be such a downer, but I wish I had had a review before I wasted my money on this place. Read Less
