This is the absolute worst nail place I have ever been to. The blonde lady was extremely rude and needs her attitude in check, the manager was very unprofessional about how he handles business. The woman that did my nails was in a rush and she cut my thumbs, my nails look terrible the sides of my nails are not painted and they didn't even go down to my cuticles to paint them. My thumbs are shorter than the rest of my fingers I said something to the woman that was doing my nails and she said it was my fingers and the way my nail beds were shaped. Throughout my years of getting my nails done I never had this problem until now and apparently it's my fingers..... ok. I love that they offer complimentary beverages. Everyone is friendly and professional. My gel manicure wasn't phenomenal, but I went back and showed them the problem and they offered to fix it. I would recommend to groups and parties because they have a lot of room. Read Less

Winnie (hope I spelled her name correctly) did my nails. I have acrylics and decided to try this salon for a fill in on the Friday before Easter. I had an acrylic fill in with gel overlay and she was very nice and very careful with my nails. My nails looked amazing when she finished; however, this morning the gel is lifting off one of the nails and it’s Easter Sunday so I don’t know if the salon will be open today to get this fixed. I live an hour away so either way this will be inconvenient. I gave the salon 4 stars because the were nice and my nails looked nice. I hope they are open today so I can have this fixed. Read Less

I've been coming to Viva Nail & Spa for several months and this is by far my favorite spot in Concord! The location is huge, it's extremely clean and almost everyone speaks good English! I have been here several times and each time I have received mediocre service. Today's experience is what made me write a review. Went in for  an eyebrow waxing. I was helped by an older Asian lady she didn't introduce herself and give me her name. What I think ticked her off was when she had asked me to put my purse on the ground. I kindly said that I didn't want to but I could set it on the counter. However, she didn't like that and gave me attitude and asked "Why?". Because it's an expensive purse that's why! (I didn't say that) but I don't understand what her problem was. Before she started I asked her to just clean up my brows because I don't like them thin... she answered "I know". I didn't say this but I thought..."How do you know? You've never helped me before or even asked what I wanted?" She gave me attitude and told me to close my eyes. She was rough or maybe she doesn't know how to properly wax brows because she didn't even hold my skin taught when she pulled. She also didn't trim or groom my brows afterwards nor did I dare ask her to in fear she would of botched them. I did ask her however for some toner to clean off the oily mess she slathered over my brows and she didn't know what that was.... I'll never go back there again and will tell my friends that told me about this place to go somewhere more professional. Today was not good...scheduled an appointment in person with the receptionist...or so I thought. Go in..the appt was not with the person I always see but with someone else. I schedule appts for a reason. Mgmt wants to apologize but this is their 2nd mishap with appts....okay I'll roll with it..while waiting for my daughter, an appt for my person is cancelled....do you think ANYONE had the thought of getting me in after all instead of making me come back another day?? That would be a NO . Seriously people....I know you are popular and typically very good BUT you need to treat all your customers as if they are your only one....do you want repeat business? I have referred lots of people and have been going for years ...not feeling very important at this point...apologies don't make up for it. Awful experience. Obviously this place is doing something right, because they were very busy. No complaints on that, I was immediately helped. I couldn't find the polish color I was specifically looking for so a staff member chose a "similar" color. I'll come back to that. No drink was offered, no menu of services offered. I was looking forward to the deluxe pedicure after reading reviews but no such luck. You get what you get. And what I got is the fastest, most lazy, incomplete pedicure of my life! The 2 ladies seated next to me were well under way when I sat down and I was done before they were polished. While I was receiving my pedi my gel mani began, no complaints I'm used to that. However I expressed that I was unhappy with the color, which was clear and not "nude" or "neutral" and I was scoffed at by the technician. Finally I called the staff member over that chose the color for me and she chose a different color but the nail tech was pissed! So that's awkward enough, but then the lady who was doing my toes angrily asked me if I would be okay with my toe color (polish hadn't began). Cool the attitude ladies! I had a French pedicure prior to this one and she didn't even remove the old clear, my toe nail is cut CROOKED!!! Additionally, the place is incredibly unsanitary, having worked in the spa distribution field I was concerned by the tools from the start and the round pieces in the pedi tubs being reused. The tools are not opened from a sanitary pouch before use on your feet. Things are not sanitized between clients. I ventured away from my usual place hoping to find a salon offering a dip mani and ended up here. Buyer beware. It's such a disappointment to pay for self care and have such an awful experience. I have been going to this nail salon for over five years.  I can tell you that your experience will be very different depending on what day and time you go.  If you go on a weekend without an appointment, you will give them one maybe two stars as they get PACKED from all the walk-ins and the wait time is significant.  If you go on a weekday, with or without an appointment, you will give them four or five stars.  Yes, Tony can be full of himself and sometimes sounds rude, but if you are a regular customer, you will know that is just him.  He is actually very accommodating and remembers where dozens of people are in line at any given time.  He also invests in the salon with equipment and furniture upgrades.  He put in new nail bars and wireless gel dryers about two months ago.  I have tried numerous salons in the area and this is the one that I come back to time and time again. I went on a Sunday and it was so crowded - definitely not staffed adequately. It would have been nice to know there'd be a wait instead of sitting myself and 2 friends in pedicure chairs. We waited 40 minutes before getting any hot water in the tank, and then 5 minutes after that were seen. The pedicure has held up well and looks great, but it's just unfortunate that they're not up front about the wait; and that the girls kept going up to the owner asking what to do and where to put people. Terrible experience here. Took over two hours for a very less than mediocre simple manicure to be done. I was seated right away (about the only good thing)  and a woman named van did my "first manicure". First problem was I had to request clean utensils be used on me. You could visibly see someone else's large amounts of skin on the cuticle cutters she was about to use on me. She did a terrible job on the actual manicuring of my nails. Then the painting part was atrocious. It looked at though a toddler painted my nails. I asked her did she think this looked like a professional manicure? She simply looked at me and then began removing the polish. She then said "someone else will do". No apology for the horrific job. The manager did not come over and apologize or even look at the job that was done- which leads me to believe this happens often. This place is just a mirage. Nice atmosphere. Good color selection. But the owner is rude and a little full of himself. I waited over 45 for a fill in while techs walked around and did nothing. People who came in after me were served before me. Well sorta, 15 minutes later my sister came to meet me for a pedicure and a Polish change. The owner changed his price more than once and then she sat in the pedicure chair so long her water was cold. I was told to wait at the bar after waiting for 25 minutes the receptionist finally told me to wait at the bar. I sat there for almost 20 more minutes no one even spoke to me! Not a word. I have to note that my sister was still sitting in the same cold water while I sat at the bar! I collected my things and started to leave. The owner, Tony, very rudely said so you leaving or you staying. What you gonna do? As if I was intruding on his time. Not concerned that a customer of 3 years was walking out!  I came in well before close right after work. He made several other rude comments to my sister after my departure which caused her to walk as well. My entire family (6) will not be back! I also have to note that this is not the first time the owner was rude to us. We work similar hours the spa is open so sometimes we cut it a little close, an hour before closing. I walked in at about 3:50, was seated at a table around 4pm. I watched multiple people get taken care of, I watched multiple employees walk back and forth in front of me. After 15 minutes of waiting a man asked what I needed. I waited 20 more minutes after that and walked out. Not to mention somebody in front of me sat down and was taken care of in less than 10 minutes. And a lady in front of me had foil on her nails waiting for somebody to come back and take care of her from the time I got seated up until the time I walked out. My first time there,  I walked in and there was a bunch of people there.  I was greeted upon entry,  assisted to pick out nail color,  then introduced to Tony. DO NOT GO HERE! This place is terrible at nails and waxing eyebrows. I got mine waxed over a month ago and the woman did a horrible job. She completely took off half of my left eyebrow and it still has YET to grow back..after a MONTH! When I complained to the manager, the girl told me I was a LIAR about disliking them. Excuse me? The manager was even looking at my eyebrows as if there wasn't anything wrong with them..um hello, you went to school for this?! I definitely love the atmosphere and they actually do a great job with your nails. Especially Leah and Vicky! My issue is pricing. By the time you leave, you're questioning your math skills. My suggestion would be to tell them what you want up front and ask what the total price is before you get started. Unfortunately, I tried this place out twice, as this area is my enclave. The customer service was okay the first time. I waited about an hour the first time. The second time everything was absolutely the worst and most horrible service I have ever experienced and I am 35 and have visited 25 states. I planned to use Viva as my regular nail salon but I don't think I am going to give them a third chance. I only went it for a manicure and gel polish change. They sat me and I waited 30 minutes for someone to wrap my nails in a blazing fast hurry to remove the gel. She walked away and said it would be 5 minutes but no one returned. I sat in the newer section and I was the first to sit on that side. They filled all of the pedicure chairs up behind me and skipped right over me and started doing pedicures on at least 10 people. I saw another four or five people come in on the other side and receive service immediately. I waited 45 more minutes (with my hands in the heating device wrapped in foil). When I took my hands out of the heating foil, the acetone had eaten through my skin and I was bleeding on one of my fingers. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to change my gel polish 10:45-12:30 pm (without a manicure because I had plans and was tired of waiting). I also had two natural nails completely break within 2 hours that were not broken before. The polish was uneven and clumpy looking as well. The guy who serviced me just said "you have to wait to let the gel soak off" and I responded "not an hour". I am debating if this place will ever see me again. I live in walking distance and Market for a few large companies with many women and will make sure to let them know. Don't waste your time or money here. I started to get my nails done here a couple months ago and the service was great! & tony was one of coolest nail techs he was actually the reason why i continue to go the salon but i notice the last couple times my nails were not great. So today i specificly requested for tony to give me a full set and the girls at the front desk told me to choose a color and he will be with me. I patiently waited for about 35mins and a nail tech i did not request for sat me in her station and made me wait another 20 mins. 3 Strikes, you're out! I had heard great things about this nail salon so I came with a friend (after making an appointment). It was a Saturday, which apparently is a very busy day for them. We waiting 45 minutes before we had anyone work on our nails. We weren't done at the same time either so I was there a total of an hour and a half. My nails looked good but I wasn't crazy about the wait.Then I came back with the same friend another time but during the week. We made an appointment thinking surely there wouldn't be a wait. There wasn't that many people there but it took 30 minutes before we had someone work on our nails again. My poor friend twice now had come with gel nail polish on and had to have them wrap her fingers up. You should only have that stuff on your fingers for 10 mins and she waited almost 30 before they came over and took them off. The nails looked good, but again the wait was long for a slow day.My third and final time was the worst experience I've ever had. I made an appointment for a week day, showed up 10 mins before and then I waited 30 mins before they sat me at a table. Then I waited 30 more mins until someone came over to do my nails. Not only did they cause me to wait AN HOUR (after I called and made an appointment) but they rushed my nails and they looked TERRIBLE! Not understanding how they get as much biz as they do. Went there 2xs. Was trying them out. First time I got some kind of fungus (nothing major but still).  A nail chipped the first visit & chipped again (including a toe nail) the second visit. Won't be going back. I went once and the man did my nails they sort of crooked but but It was only nail. I went back a second time recently and the woman did my nails. She is horrible at doing nails!!. I wanted a full set and she put on tips! She also did not check to see if they were crooked and they were aweful!! Some longer than the other. I honestly do not want to ever go back there again. When she painted them (with my polish) I told her she would first have to use the base coat underneath the glitter so it would not show though. She reassured me "oh no. I'll cost over it" You can still see STRAIGHTS through it. Top nails is the best place! They may close a little early but my nails are always perfect when I go there. I love this nail salon, the staff is friendly and everyone does a really good job. I travel from the Charlotte to get my mani and pedi from here. They take walk-ins but I'd recommend making an appointment, they can get really busy!If you're feeling fun and want nail art or designs (which I normally get) make an appointment with Louanne, she does an awesome job and can recreate any design you find online. There's a wide variety of traditional and gel polishes, which sometimes makes deciding on a color pretty difficult.No matter who does your nails you'll leave happy! Read Less

I went there about a year ago bc my friend recommended the place. I usually go to a small salon on hwy 29. But I decided to try this place out. I went there and I loved the setting. The place was clean and the man was very nice and sweet. I got stuck with this lady named Vi. She was nice but her skills gots to go! It was like she was trying to rush to get my fill-in done! They were not even busy! She did have a friend there getting a pedi though. And all her attention was on her...and not on my nails. The outcome was horrible! Crooked nails...it was uneven and it looks horrible! I didn't complain to them though bc if I did, it wouldn't be pretty. I have only been living in Concord for 2 weeks now and been looking for a nail salon, now this was my first pick even though other reviews were not the greatest but still wanted to give them a chance and I'm glad I did. If there were 10 stars to give, I'd give 10 stars. I've been going to Viva Nails & Spa for over 4 years. During this time I have received timely and excellent service. I've always been greeted by name and made to feel at "home" even if I have to wait a few minutes. Of all the salons/spas I have visited, this is the only place I return to month after month for pedicures and for pink and white nails. The owner, Tony, does a phenomenal job of speaking to every client like his friend or family and making sure the service by all the nail techs is top notch. This was the WORST experience in a nail salon I've ever had. I went in for an acrylic french manicure. The woman told me to sit and started working on my nails, not even bothering to ask what I wanted, in fact, she didn't even say hello to me. I told her I wanted them short and how I'd like them shaped and she didn't respond. I mentioned they were too long and she said they looked good...I guess my opinion on my own nails didn't matter! She was done with my nails in 20 minutes which is the fastest I've ever had a full acrylic set done. It was obvious she rushed as they looked horrible and didn't come close to resembling what I'd asked for. I ended up talking to the manager and she offered to file my nails shorter, but in fact, the other woman had put on white tips instead of clear and painting the white for the french manicure look on like I had requested. As I sat there soaking these off to get my nails redone, the woman told me I should've told her what I wanted! I responded by saying that I did, and I don't work in a nail salon and as a customer I should be informed if there are different ways to do a french manicure so I could clarify my preference. Did these people never hear of a client consultation?! They didn't even have any pictures available so I could show them what I meant. After explaining forever to the manger how I wanted my nails done (which was not difficult, just a french manicure! sheesh!) she redid my nails and they were okay. I wasn't even offered money off for the inconvenience or a gift certificate, not that I'd ever go back! I was a nail tech before I became allergic to some of the acrylics, so Im extremely picky when it comes to my nails! Viva Nails does everything correctly and sanitarily. They shape the nails beautifully and they don't leave fill lines behind!
