I got a gel manicure and literally 6 days later it looked terrible. The technician rushed my manicure, not letting the gel polish cure under the UV light for the correct amount of time. I paid a lot of money (compared to other nail salons around here) and the quality was bad. Read Less

I definitely hoped I would have a better experience here considering the rating, and I'm ONLY giving it 2 stars because the woman who did my friends pedicure was really sweet. However, that was a terrible pedicure. First of all, we were not given a choice of which pedicure we wanted out of basic, deluxe, or premium - priced 28, 35, 45 respectively - so I didn't even have a say in how much I would pay for this less than mediocre pedicure. The woman only trimmed down one foot's cuticles. She massaged my right leg and foot for MAYBE a minute and she massaged my left leg (that's right, JUST the leg; no foot action AT ALL) for about 30 seconds. As it would turn out on the receipt, got the deluxe pedicure (priced at 35 dollars), and with gel polish at a 10 dollar upcharge, I rang up $45 dollars for a pedicure that didn't even equal up in minutes. I may have sat in that chair for 45 minutes, but 10 of those were waiting for the water to NOT boil my feet off, and my woman to come back, and so I could enjoy the hot towel for at least longer than 15 seconds. Orchid Nails is the best nail salon in the triangle area!  From the decor to the service, this is truly as good as it gets.  The owner, Donna, has created a relaxing oasis and I'm so glad I stumbled upon her salon a year ago.  Besides being beautifully decorated, the salon is clean and immaculate always.  It's very Zen like and is a nice place to relax and be pampered.  Donna is so full of life and positive energy.  I love going to see her every week.  The rest of the staff is wonderful also.  Lilly does my shellac pedicure and it's always beautiful and lasts for weeks.  Orchid Nails is the only place I've ever been that offers this service.  It might cost a little more but it is well worth every penny.  The polish stays shiny for weeks and doesn't chip.  I've had many regular pedicures there as well and the experience has been perfection every time.Donna's expertise and experience is obvious.  I have gel nails and she is a perfectionist.  My nails have never been done more beautifully.  I get constant compliments on them.  She truly is the best there is.  She goes above and beyond to ensure that her salon and staff are top notch. Her salon also includes a tanning salon right next door.  It's the perfect one stop shop!  Bella Tan is unlike any other tanning salon I've ever been in anywhere.  The beds are brand new and state of the art.  The tanning salon has several different types of beds including a Norvell spray tanning booth.  Donna's salon is truly one of the triangle's best hidden gems!  I can't say enough good things about it!!! I originally visited this business because of their "March Madness" sale of $19.99/month for tanning. It was a very clean establishment. At first I was very confused why they never had any customers when I visited. 2 weeks into the month I quickly realized why they were always slow. While they have a beautiful, clean salon I think the owner needs to be taught how to treat people with respect and to value her customers. I was overcharged on four separate occasions, to add insult to injury, when I spoke about it for the second time she told me that the price (while not correct) was still a fair one. While I am not one to usually take things to heart I was taken aback by the fact that when I spoke to the manager on duty she cited my original complaint by saying "Oh the manager did say that some mexican girl had come in with a complaint" referring to me. If I were mexican that would not offend me , however, I am not. In all the businesses that I have visited I have never been treated with such disrespect and a lack of understanding for such a blatant error on behalf of the business. I think this goes without saying, but I will never again give this business my patronage. Read Less
