This is salon has such a great vibe.  I appreciate the decor and the fact that the nail polish used is not as toxic where a mask or fan is needed.   It's an intimate setting which is refreshing because these days many nail salons are run like assembly lines.  Brushed Up offers other services like henna design and hair extensions.  Everyone is friendly and very knowledgeable about their craft.  You can expect a few quick tips on how to keep your nails and hair healthy and looking great.  The nail designs are chic and done by hand.   I had the pleasure of having my nails done by Jasmin who is a true artist.   If you want to veer off the trite and beaten to death path of the French manicure or the "accent nail" styles and try something with a little twist - whether you're a flamboyant type or a minimalist like me... she's your girl!PSST....  I forget to mention they offer nail triage for those who have survived life after acrylics or hard gel and are trying to regain nail strength.  Come on by! I was charged $10 for gel removal. Gel removal should be free with a new gel manicure, at least in all other nail spas I have been to. The recipes said gel remove only, which was not my case. The removal solution they used stung my fingers really bad. I can constantly smelled the chemical fume. I got a little blood on one of my fingers. I bought a Groupon for a gel manicure. I called to make an appointment. Natasha asked me if I had gel polish on my nails. I said yes. She told me it would cost $10.00 to take off the gel polish. I was shocked. I called back after reading the Groupon and NOWHERE did it say that if you had gel polish on there would be an added charge to take it off. She laughed in my ear. I am really angry...what a scammer she is. And she bragged that she sold 200 of these Groupons. I wonder how many other people will be surprised to find out that have to pay an extra $10.00. This has NEVER happened to me before. Natasha calls it an additional service. Now I am fighting with Groupon for a refund...but Natasha was already paid and has my money from Groupon. BE CAREFUL. I love the atmosphere in Brushed Up! Cool music, beautiful decor, relaxing manicure with tasteful accents! I like to keep it simple and one accent nail on each hand is lovely. I like that it is natural and there is a great choice. It never feels rushed and the artists are helpful when it comes to choosing colors and design. This was my second time at this studio and their work is outstanding. The first time I came for my wedding and my nails looked amazing and lasted a whole month. The atmosphere is very soothing and relaxed, beautiful decor and the owner was beyond accommodating with my bridezilla status at the time lol. I would highly recommend!!!!
