The best nail salon ever!!!  We researched several places and Star Nails was referred to us.  Sophia and Ellie learned our names instantly and we became a part of a family.  Their skill set is second to none and we are always welcome (even though you really should make an appointment).  They have even opened my car door and put my seatbelt on for me.  Oh and we received Christmas gifts from them.  Our nails have never looked better and we could not be more pleased. I usually don't write reviews, but I was recommended to Star Nails by my daughter (and she was recommended to them by her fiance's family), and I wasn't going to go there because there were some bad reviews posted...but my daughter convinced me because they had done a great job on her nails, so I said okay, I'll try them.  So, I decided to give them a try tonight, and I'm SO GLAD I did.  Shariy had done the powder gel on my nails and she did them to perfection!!!!  She was so meticulous with her work and took her time, and did my nails perfectly!!!!  I used to go to a nail salon in Commack, but will always use Star Nails from now on!  The entire experience was fabulous, the staff were so kind and friendly...I'd rate it a 10 out of 10...there was nothing i didn't like about them!  Come here and see the difference from other nail salons!  This place rocks!!!!! STAR NAILS is the best nail salon in all of Long Island! The shop is nice, clean, and the staff is very courteous and accommodating. They do a terrific job with nails and their pedicures are to die for (ask for Maria if you want the most relaxing pedicure ever) . You can pay a few dollars extra  (definitely worth it) to get a little kit with your own personal tools provided by star nails and it stays at the salon in your cubby with your name and kit #. All of the pedicures are ultra sanitary since they line the tub with a brand new liner before they start to start the water and get you ready for your pedi. The owners and staff are very friendly and genuinely happy to see you whether you have and appointment or not (though they are always very busy and will do their best to accommodate you, I still recommend calling first for an appt). Great value, extra clean, my manicure lasts anywhere up to 6 weeks and my pedicure always lasts at least 2 months,sometimes 3), and I only use the regular polish (French with a marshmallow base, no gel, no powder, no UV or high tech polish, that's just how well they do the manicure before the polish. They also do waxing and possibly massages (not positive). Oh and did I mention they have leather reclining massage chairs for your pedi?!!!!!I would give them 10 stars if I could. I know I'll be back soon. I would post a pic of my nails but I am way overdue. I lived near this salon for at least 15 years, but for the past 10 years I have been going all the way to Westbury from the Suffolk county border. Live this place!! I am never harrased about getting a more expensive service Luke the other places I have gone too! I get what I ask for and that is it! Very friendly and accommodating! I saw a negative review with a pic and I have to say that is not the place! They must have selected wrong store the chairs are not even that color and coats ate not hung by pedi chairs... They give bottled water and heated neck roll sometimes they ask if you want it but if you ask for it you get it!!!! They have various colors and styles of manis and pedis... I have only been to this location twice. The first time, my manicure was done terribly. My nails weren't cut/shaped evenly and the polish didn't last long. Despite this, I went back a second time because the staff is friendly and my mom prefers this place over others. The second time I went in for a UV gel manicure (I've never had it done before). My mom got a UV gel manicure two weeks before and I was curious about it. It's been two weeks since I got it done and it has not chipped at all! My nails are still strong (I have very thin, weak nails).  I'm seriously amazed at how well this manicure was done. Gel "manicure" wasn't much of a manicure. The gel started chipping much too soon. The lady actually had my friend hold her hand under the UV light for the entire time they were working on my manicure... The only plus was that their callus remover during the pedicure actually worked. Read Less

Honestly the people are very very nice and the service was quick. On valentines day they were pretty empty so I guess that gives you an idea of how popular they are not. My first impression was that it was dirty. I was sort of skeeved out thinking that the nAil tools they would use wouldn't be very clean but I desperately needed a quick gel mani and I was low on time. The job got done and the nails look great, within 20 minutes and it wasn't overly priced. I think a regular mani was on the cheap end. Read Less

Was thinking of things to do while the wife and daughter were getting mani-pedis so as a shy guy, felt that the safest bet was a foot spa.   I've had spas in Vegas, China, Philippines, boat cruises, and surprisingly, this was one of the best ones I ever had.   It was also the most affordable one too.  It wasn't crowded as I showed up around closing time.   The chairs were brand new, large, and had very good massage features.   The girl that did me was pretty and real petite and wasn't rough.  I went for a twenty minute, and it felt like it lasted forever.    There was good aroma therapy and the chairs were so comfortable.   It's a new place and am pretty sure the owners know what they are doing.The staff is very friendly.   Very cool people.   A place like this didn't make me feel shy and was very comfortable here.   I know my wife and daughter love this place as they keep coming back.   I might join them again going the spa route, as nails aren't really my thing. I will never not come here whenever I happen to be on Long Island. A $15 mani pedi with tons of colors to choose from?! Amen. If you're looking for a luxury nail salon this isn't it, but if you're okay with a no frills mani pedi head on over. I went in for a fill in. They did a horrible job. They used a nail file on entire nail which left all lines (scratch marks) on nail. They did not buff lines out so when nails were painted it looked horrible. Then to top it off the next day my nails all had yellow stains on them. They looked awful. I had to go get them redone elsewhere the following day. It was a total waste of money! Read Less

This is the only place I will get my nails done.  They offer 3 different types of pedicures -the Star Pedicure is my favorite and includes a hot stone massage and exfoliation.  This place is extremely clean and comfortable.  The ladies that work here are very friendly and nice and are very meticulous with their work -I've had some sloppily done manicures at other places but never here.  Highly recommended.
