Went here for the first-time this past weekend to get a color with Randi.Booking an appointment: You can request an appointment online and specify your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd preferred time and dates. They texted me the day before my 1st preferred time to confirm my appointment. Thankfully, I don't have too much of a life (in all seriousness) so I didn't mind this and accepted the appointment. Busier folks might prefer more of a lead-time.Salon vibe: Lots of parking, easy to find off of Empire, big, open space, and everyone gets their hair colored in a circle in the middle. Everyone is friendly and doesn't come off pretentious.The appointment: Easy check-in and Randi was very nice and easygoing. I got a single, permanent color that was darker than what I had so it wasn't anything too complicated. She showed me some options on what she thought would work best with my hair and offered me a choice of water, juice, or wine while I got my hair colored which is always a nice touch. What I appreciated most about the appointment is that Randi was able to gauge my mood. I am very low maintenance when it comes to my hair (I might go to a salon just a couple times a year) and I am very transactional about getting my hair done. I don't care much for crazy small talk when I get my hair done because I really just want to relax and Randi was able to balance that by being friendly and accommodating, but not pushy. She didn't push any hair products on me and casually inquired about a follow-up appointment. Once I mentioned that I'd figure out my schedule and book online as needed, she was totally cool about it and didn't press further. I'd go back just because of that courtesy alone. I was happy with how my hair came out too.Check-out: Nice and easy but I didn't realize that I could not tip on my card. The price was reasonable and since it was my first-time at the salon, they let me add the tip on my card but I have a mental note for the future to bring cash. Like Randi, they did not push me to buy any products (even though there are nice gift sets in the waiting area) and was the same regarding a follow-up appointment.Overall a pleasant experience and I would definitely consider going back. Everyone is awesome here. My husband and I were both nervous to go to a new place. I researched and went first for a hair transformation and it was WONDERFUL! The next time we went together, I scheduled us last minute, and he got a perfect cut and I got gorgeous, natural looking highlights & a trim. I first went to Larijames Salon for lash extension. Sandy is absolutely awesome. She does not try to push you to products but instead focuses on what works for you. I trust no one else to do my lashes for me other than Sandy. After a few visits, I asked Sandy to recommend me a stylist because I was looking to have my hair cut but was apprehensive about working with someone new. Sandy asked about my budget, my style, and my comfort level. She recommended me to Larry. Larry is meticulous, professional, and calming. Hands down THE person you want to work on your hair if you are unsure about what you want. Not only did my balayage hair color turned out natural and beautiful, the cut Larry did on me was stunning. Larry took his time in cutting my hair, and shaping it to suit my face. I was concerned going short will totally make my face look HUGE, but Larry assured me that he will shape the cut to suit my features.  I left completely happy and stoked. One thing though.... I've been getting my hair cut her since about 1998 when the salon was just a converted house and not the behemoth building it is now. I would get the last appointment on Thursday or Friday, walk across the street from my apartment, and have some wine while getting my hair cut. I get my hair cut by Christi or Michelle. I've been going here for so long I generally get into the chair and trust them to do whatever they want. I trust them and their work. I have gotten massages here before too, from Maria, but it's been so long I'm unsure if she still works here. I never really gave much thought about getting my hair cut or styled, it was just something I had to do... that was until I meant Lindsey form Larijames. I never knew there were so many options and techniques you can do with your hair, from the simplest ways to style everyday hair to a fancier change up for a night on the town.As soon as you walk in you can tell the staff here take pride in this salon, always full of product, bright and clean. Once you sit down they ask what you want to drink. I now only trust Lindsey with my hair, and love of she listens to exactly what you want and explains what she is going to do step by step. I love the openness of the salon, everyone sits in an open circle when their getting their hair colored. So instead of sitting facing a mirror by yourself, you can have a conversation with multiple people. Such a friendly atmosphere. My favorite part is when Lindsey washes and massages my hair/scalp..... this is amazing, you close your eyes and its like you are relaxing on a beach somewher for a mini vacation. I have fallen asleep before..because its so relaxing!She mixes different high and low lights in my hair (depending on the season) and I was leave feeling beautiful and confident!
