I am a hairdresser and never found anyone who would actually 'listen' to what I want. I recently walked into Mario's and had my haircut by Karla.Karla took my shoulder length hair into a fun sassy short look.i had an ear laceration so it took her extra time but she was very careful and polite. When she blew dry my hair it was the very first time I felt like I could do something afterwards w/o having to re do my hair at home.I think from a hairdressers point of view that she is absolutely fantastic! I've been coming to Mario's, more specifically John for the last 11years. The first time I got a cut from John was when I was a freshman in college. I kept coming back because they are simply awesome.John is the master Jedi of hair and style - male or female, long or short, all colors, all ages. I've come in with ideas, pictures, and sometimes nothing and he always seams to nail it. Every freaking time. I've recommended him to others including my mom. He did a great job w her her hair as well.John has that magic touch which is hard to explain. Sometimes I just tell him "hey man, just use your magic" and he'll cut and style my hair in a way that looks best. Geno is the manager. He's a really nice gentleman and a classic Barber. For the the guys that want a classic Barber cut - ask for Geno. The location is Perfect right at one of the entrances of the mall. The shop is clean, new, and super nice. Everytime they have moved locations Geno has brought his fashion along. So Def be sure to check out his unique fish tank and engage him in conversation about it. They also use the best and most hip and up to date products. Def seek their recommendations. Prices for the products are expensive but that's what amazon is for haha.I would highly recommend Mario's for your next hair appointment.  Prices are reasonable. Service is good. I loved the gal I went to there, but the people that run the place are another story. I would go for the same service and each time the pricing was different than the last time. I was not made to feel like a valued customer from other than my hairdresser. They feel just b/c they are in the Mall, they can jack up their prices. I ended up changing to another salon that was priced much better and do excellent work. Thankfully the gal I was going to has since left and gone with another salon. I would NEVER go back to Mario's. Whenever my mother comes up from New Jersey to visit me here in Rochester we always go to this place and get a haircut. The service is great and the everyone is so friendly. I know the last review was bad but I am over writing that review and telling everyone what a great job this place does. The prices are fair and the head stylists know what their doing. I was foolish enough to go here a few times - and none of those times were too great. The prices are low, though, and until the last time I went none of my experiences had been SO bad that I couldn't still be enticed by the very reasonable rates. After my most recent visit, however, I'll never be back. I'll sum Mario's up like this: If you're into the kind of salon experience that involves getting an uneven haircut and a highlight job my two-year-old could outdo, all while listening to a bunch of catty stylists complain about each other and everything else in their lives, then this is the place for you. Doubly so if you enjoy being charged to have your stylist fix her mistakes simply because you weren't able to make it in for a couple of weeks due to your travel schedule! But if you're looking for something that's (*ahem*) a cut above, then you should look somewhere else.
