I absolutely love the nail tech here, Nicki. She and her assistant (I think) are very nice and listen to what you tell them. I said that a nail tech I went to filed my nails paper thin and they understood and took care with my nails. My nails are absolutely stunning. There isn't an extensive nail polish collection to choose from (just 162) but the colors are great and there's even mood changing colors. I got acrylic tips and they're stunning. The technique used is great too- I love that they don't file the natural nail with one of those mechanized files. It is absolutely worth the trip here. Definitely check it out. Read Less

Silk Press (I Absolutely Loved)So I'm currently transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair. I didn't want to go to the Dominicans to get a wash & set because of all the heat that they use. So my search began with a silk press. I had no clue where to start. Yelp lead me here to the Polish Lounge. It was such a wonderful experience. I felt welcomed and taken care of immediately. David was so friendly and nice. He washed my hair with the upmost care. He took the time to detangle and massage my scalp. Gave me a squeaky clean feeling. Keith Keith ohhhh Keith. He was a party on his own. His joyous spirt with his customers was truly a sight to see. He made me feel welcomed and took care of me and my hair. With all of his customers, each one got the time they deserved. Being that I am transitioning I wanted to cut some of my relaxed hair off as well. The Atlanta salon experience has come to Queens! I have a private stylist who works from home doing natural protective styles. Every 3 months I am due for a trim. I needed a Professional. I have been researching Queens stylists that silk press natural hair with Edward scissor hand skills for months. A good friend researched Polish on Yelp and was styled by Keith and I was convinced I should visit for my silk press and trim. Immediately when I arrived, I was satisfied with the ambiance of the salon. Clean and spacious. There were a few clients ahead of my appointment time, so Keith kindly introduced himself and explained that his assistant David would take me to the sink to wash my hair. What followed was pure bliss. David was a sweetheart. Highly entertaining and has magic hands. My shampoo scalp massage was a answer to a prayer! He washed my hair thoroughly and used great products. He did not struggle to detangle my hair so my blow out was seamless. He took his time and the service was worth every penny spent. Best shampoo I've ever had. The products used on my hair were great. Not heavy or cheap. Keith silk pressed me and trimmed my hair for the Grand Finale to give it dimension and body. The results were exactly what I desired. Clean, fragrant, LIGHT, full of body, bounce. Silked, Shiny, Sheared and Slayed by the Gods. I like that all the staff here are personable and hilariously funny. I had a great 3.5 hours spent here. I will be back. Many women will complain about the cost of salon prices but you truly get what you pay for at Polish. They live up to a true "hair lounge" experience. Read Less

Sherril made me feel welcomed and valued as if I've been there numerous times before. I was then introduced to my hair angel...Keith! I had wanted to cut my hair so that way I could showcase my natural texture and I wanted it to be shorter in length. While in Melbourne about 6 weeks a go I got a French nail treatment at this place. From the start the treatment was rushed and quite rough. As I had to have polish removed the man used a burr drill. He has removed so much of the top of my nail that it was quite painful. This has left my nails very thin and brittle so they will have to grow out totally. Unfortunately I won't be going back. Been a couple of times but there are a few reasons I won't go back. Firstly they are very small and never say no meaning there are always people waiting and even when you book an appointment you still end up waiting a long time to start and even then get passed from one person to another. I have had the organic gel nails done there a couple of times but most recently I was extremely unhappy, they were so so thick and the shape was terrible..., I have have organic done so many times before I no it doesn't have to be that thick. When I commented on the shape it barely changed so thought there's no point me saying it is I ended up going home and redoing as much as possible to change them - not ideal when you have paid for something your not happy. I won't be returning anymore, found another great place not far away. I was in a bind and needed my previous gel manicure removed and re-done before I went to an event in Queens. The gel color selection was very limited and my application didn't even last a week. I have been going to Polish Lounge on a weekly basis for over three years. Lanetta and Keith are my hair stylists and both are wonderful! I have a short cut and relaxer. Under their care my hair is healthy and I always receive compliments on my haircuts and hair styles. I also love that Polish Lounge is a full-service salon where I can have a manicure and pedicure. Each Saturday in addition to having my hair done, I have my nails done as well. Last Friday I had an amazing spa pedicure that left me feeling relaxed; my feet felt so soft. Provide all the services in one that you need in a salon down from relaxers, weaves, natural hair, color, locs, pedicures, manicures and makeup. Needed a lot touch up and Lisa was the absolute best!
