I am so happy with my UV gel set so far. This place is super cute, and have a really talented staff. It's only been a little over a week and my nails are still perfect. Excited to see how long these will hold up. Comparing to other nail salons on Staten Island, the quality of technical skills for UV gel is definitely high. The lady who did my nails really took her time on each layer. They use all disposable files, etc. which I appreciate. The pedicure was very good as well, but I feel there could be a longer massage. My normal nail salon gives a more thorough massage for $2 less. That's my only suggestion as everything else was great. :-) I will be back! Read Less

What a horrible service! My “Non-Chip” $36.50 dipping manicure peeled after 1 day! I had to drive back and fix that finger. Within 2 weeks- 4 nails chipped and broke. Becouase I called AGAIN but it was 2 weeks and 3 days after (when I was back in town) and not within the 2 weeks I was offered 25% off to get my nails redone. No thanks. I went somewhere else. My recent visit there was so bad it has driven me to write my first review on anything, ever! This review strictly applies to Scott. There’s no doubt in my mind that I was a bit picky about how I wanted my nails done,but he was just plain rude. I was being very nice, and asked him kindly to do it a certain way. He eventually got flustered, after only answering me in grunts, and got up to ask the nice woman at the front something. It turned into a big argument. I couldn’t understand what was said, but it was obvious he was screaming about me . So the woman in the front who I like, came back and said, Abby is going to fix your nails. I laughed and said okay. Scott proceeded to sit next to me and do another woman’s nails, while on looking Abby’s fine work on my nails, which was just as AMAZING as her overall service. Turns out, Scott understands English, because I never would have known with all the grunting noises he made he was talking so nicely to his next costumer! Anyway Abby did an a amazing job and I couldn’t have been happier walking past Scott to give Abby his tip+her tip .. after he spent an hour doing my nails, but because he was a ride jackass, he didn’t get a tip because he left me sitting there with unfinished nails arguing and screaming about how he didn’t want to finish...moral of the story guys, don’t go to Scott, his testosterone levels need to be takin down a notch or someone is going to take them down for him... #teamabby Read Less

Out of all the nail places I've been to on Staten Island, this one is hands down the best. I get a powder manicure from Debbie, and she never fails to make it looks AMAZING. They have so many colors available and my nails pretty much always last for ~3 weeks. I have also gotten pedicures there too, they always come out looking great but I will admit the chairs can get a bit uncomfortable. I don't think I'd go to another nail salon again for my nails though, I love how Debbie does them!Also the receptionist at the front desk is so nice! This nail salon is my hands down go to. Although I live in Brooklyn, I faithfully take a 30 min drive (sometime longer) to get a mani and pedi every two weeks. I only go to Queenie as she never falls short to deliver A1 service every time I see her. I'm always extremely satisfied!!!! The workers are professional and if you have a appointment they service you exactly at that time! Chairs are so uncomfortable. I only went because my friend gave me a gift card from there because that's where she goes. I got a gel manicure and it chipped and a piece came off! Me and my boyfriend came here for his birthday and we had an amazing time! The service was great and the prices were reasonable. Everything is so clean and neat, best salon I've been to in a while! We started of with pedicures and ended with manicures, both which ended in massages. We enjoyed every minute of it. To top it all off I'm in love with my gel mani and my pedi. I tried so many nail salons on Staten Island and I have been going to this salon the last couple months . I love the decor and the cleanliness of the place as well as the atmosphere . They have a lot of colors to choose from and is a wide range in choice . They always do a great job but the last time I went which is a week ago I wasn't sure as to why my nails and pedicure came out to so much . I've been going to the same girl for 15yrs and haven't been happy the last few months. I came here and Nikki did my LCN and she did a great job! My nails looked natural and I had to skip an appointment In between and I'm going on 4wks and my nails haven't chipped or broken in anyway. I'm very happy. Eva also gives a great pedicure so I'll be seeing her again too. They have a great selection of polishes and the prices are reasonable compared to my old place. I've been to Glamour Nails twice for gel manicures and regular pedicures and have had good experiences from both. The employees are professional and friendly, and I have never had to wait to start on a manicure (though, I've had appointments both times -- they do have walk-ins, but I'd suggest making an appointment). The first time, however, I had to wait around 10-15 minutes for the pedicure to start which was a bit annoying, but not terrible.The quality was great both times. The first I just got one color and they stayed chip-free. The only reason I got a new manicure after two weeks was the visible nail growth (which is of course typical). The second time (I did not go consecutively, rather around 6-8 weeks apart) I got "shattered nails" and was really happy with them. My manicurist seemed like a perfectionist with the care he took in my nails.I was happy with the pedicures, too. The second time the pedicurist noticed one of my nails was broken and used some nail glue to fix it, so I liked how she cared, too.In terms of price, Glamour Nails may be a bit more expensive than other places on SI but it's nowhere near Manhattan expensive. For example, my "shattered nails" gel manicure was $45 before tip. In the city, I've had a regular, one-color gel run me $50 before tip -- and the quality wasn't better or anything. I am so in love with this nail salon. I have been going for 3 months now & every time I go I fall more in love with this place. The first time I came I did a NexGen manicure & they did such an outstanding job as this was my first time doing NexGen & I had a great expierence. The salon environment is calm, peaceful, super neat and clean. The white and gray contrast allows you to feel pampered and relaxed. As the chandeliers on the walls give it a unique & classy touch. The staff are great! They cater to all your needs. The women in the front desk always has such a great spirit & always has a smile on her face. This is a great nail salon! They're professional and friendly. My manicurist Amy noticed I had a hangnail on one of my toes during a pedicure and gently pointed it out including asking me if it was painful. Then she carefully removed it painlessly. Sorry for the TMI but I was just so impressed by the level of care I received here that I had to share this info. Of course my nails look beautiful and the quick neck massage during nail drying doesn't hurt either. The space is a little tight but they make do. Great little gem on SI! : ) Read Less

The technicians are very skilled at doing any design that you desire .  That's why they get two stars .  After that it all goes downhill for me from here.  Unfortunately , after going to various nail technicians at Glamour Nails , I've had the misfortune of my gel manicures chipping off anywhere from two days to a week . Okay, so let me start off by saying they do wonderful nails, if you pick the right nail technician (Mindy, Leo (I think he's on Victory now) etc.) I've been there a few times and each time I did the light Concept nails. I loved the strength it gave my nails and how beautiful they always looked. But here is my problem, first of all, every time I picked a design that had the color white in it, it would start off looking white, but after a few days, it would turn to a beige color and it just made my nails look unclean. This isn't a big problem, because this happened to me about two months ago. It wasn't something that I felt needed to be addressed. My real issue has to do with my most recent visit. The work I do requires a lot of hands on stuff, and I couldn't deal with long nails and the biweekly maintenance. Therefore, I decided to have them removed. I went in expecting a pleasant experience, I was wrong. My nail technician files my nails, cuts them, and then instead of soaking them like I assumed they would, they used a metro card to separate my nail from the gel, and then proceeded to flick them off! I then thought they would at least put something to help my nails heal up, boy was I wrong! I was told to wash my hands and then leave! No hand massage or cream, no heat wraps or anything! I went from having healthy nails, to beautiful nails, to nasty paper like nails! I thought I would get over it after the next day, but I can't! The pain I have right now on my fingers, especially my thumbs are unbearable, and working now is even more of a pain! I'm not sure if this is how they take the nails off for everyone or if they were in an attitude because I just wanted them off and they assumed I wasn't coming back, well I definitely am not anymore. Finally found my new nail salon! Having a business in the city you would think with all the options that are available there are good places to get your nails done, but that is far from it! I've tried so many places on the island as well and it's always hit or miss. I'm very very meticulous when it comes to how I want my nails done and unfortunately no salon has been able to master it. Not that it's anything difficult. I just like them thin, very square, not too long and even. Simple right? Unfortunately I would leave completely dissatisfied with every place.Mindy completely change everything. She was very sweet and professional. I simply showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did it exactly that way. She takes her time to make sure it comes out exactly how you want it. Now, let me just start off by saying by being an islander for about 10 years now, I know the struggle of finding a decent nail salon with quality service. So with that being said, I was thrilled nonetheless when glamour nails opened conveniently on Richmond Ave. I've gone here about 5 times so far all with different people (I like to test the waters) and I'd say about 3  out of the 5 I have gotten the service I would expect. This place is clean and modern, which couch like pedicure stations and a very nice and comfortable color scheme. However, the last few times I have been there it has felt like an assembly line. They accept walk ins (which maybe they shouldn't) and the reason I say that is every time I walk in without an appointment, I am rushed and treated like I'm "in the way." Last time I was there (today) I have gotten a manicure with Nikki. Who I have seen do manicures on other people before and I really liked it. So I was initially happy to try her out. To my disappointment, she rushed the hell out of my manicure and had me leave what is probably her worst work. Now I don't know if it was because I was a walk in and she had another client, or she was having an bad day but I definitely did not feel wanted. The first time I felt this way was with Cindy. If you are going to rush clients in order to open up your schedule, then maybe you shouldn't do walk ins - simple. With this being said, I expressed my concerns at the front desk and they did offer me to come back for a complimentary polish change which I appreciate (since this was supposed to be for my birthday). Now with the negative out of the way, the overall ambiance is nice. The two ladies who I have tried and really liked are Esther and Kana, both who I will be sticking to from now on. To make this clear, I am addressing the Glamour Nails on Victory Blvd. After hearing amazing reviews about the quality of the service, along with the reasonable prices, I was excited to try out Glamour Nails after being a loyal customer to another salon. The location itself is beautiful, definitely has the ambiance of a high-end salon. There are many nail colors to choose from, which is always a plus. My only concern was a lack of a pricing list somewhere visible for potential customers. However, I was insanely disappointed with both the service and the attitudes of the employees. The woman who serviced me did not even bother to sit down while she worked on my nails. It seemed extremely rushed, she refused my request (before she cut them) for a longer set of tips as well. Working in customer service myself, I know how important it is to make a paying customer feel valued and welcomed. I was treated like an annoyance. I would try to be understanding if my requests were high-maintenance, yet I was only getting a full set of tips for myself along with a pedicure for my younger sister. My sister and I are of different races, which raised a lot of questions among the staff- which I normally have no issues answering. Yet, it seems as if they almost scoffed at us. While my nails were drying, I was "treated" to a two second back massage that felt more like I was being beat up on. I would've rather that been left out all together if it was going to be painful. My biggest issue was that this experience totaled to 80 dollars. I nearly fell to the floor when I heard that. 80 dollars for terrible customer service and a mediocre nail job. I will stick to my regular nail place (Top Secret Nails). They do a MUCH better job for less than half the price, and they are all extremely friendly and welcoming. Steer clear of this location. Finally found a nail salon that compares to the one I go to in NJ. Made an appointment directly through Yelp and when I got there they had me in the system, which was great cause I read some reviews that said their online appt didn't go through. My nail tech was Queenie, I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted and I got exactly that. Oh and the amazing neck and back massage you get with your nails, did I already say amazing. Love the fact that they don't offer acrylics cause I can't stand the smell. Their prices are great. The atmosphere is inviting everyone is so nice. This is my new nail spot!!! They offer Nex Gen nails and eyebrow tinting as well as eyelash extensions. Think I'm going to try the tinting and extensions next time. Read Less

Let me say this is the most cutest nail salon I have gone so far. Staten Island has very few places that do good work on nails but this is by far the best I've seen. Starting from the Professionalism from all the staff... Since glamour nails opened I had been following them on Facebook for quite some time and decided to try them back in January of this year 2016.   The front desk are super sweet and nice. Since it was my first time going to them in January I was given Debbie B. OMG!!!  I absolutely love her. She takes her time, I'm never felt that I'm being rushed. My nails last me anywhere from 3-4 weeks sometimes longer. I always get what I've asked for. Debbie happened to have been away for the summer (2016) for a family matter so I was given another nail technician during her absence. I had been using Kathy during Debbie's absence. Kathy is also an amazing nail technician. It's like having 2 Debbie's. I always walk out of the salon fully satisfied. The staff are all amazing. They are super friendly, attentive and fun to be around. The staff makes you feel really at home.  As for prices, the prices are really reasonable. I had been using another salon for a little over 10 years which had changed ownership 4 times and I finally got fed up because my nails wouldn't last past a week and on top of that they kept charging a different price each time for the exact service. This coming January 2017 will be a year that I've been going to Glamour Nails and I have no plans to ever go elsewhere. Their pedicures are very relaxing and inexpensive. I have to admit the best part of getting my nails done is the neck massage you get while your nails are drying. Thumbs up for this facility and I give them 5 stars . I was recommended to this salon by a friend, I was looking for a place to do my eyebrows, because traveling into Brooklyn, looking for parking, just to get my eyebrows done, was becoming a huge pain! I called and they had an opening for that day, which isn't all the time, I was booked with Mindy, she's the one who does the eyebrow tinting, I decided that to try it, I never had my brows tinted so I was worried, she first began to tint them, and then waxed them. At first I hated it, I didn't like how thick they were, they looked weird, so I immediately went home and scrubbed my brows with makeup remover & alcohol, which took the tint off, but I was very impressed by how wonderful my brows looked, she shaped them wonderfully! The next time I decided to give the tinting a try yet again! And I explained how I didn't like the thick look, she did a more natural, and I loved it! It felt so good to put on makeup, and not have to worry about my brows. Since then I've been having her do the tinting, reminding her I want a more natural look, and so far everything has been good! Thank god! And like I said she does an amazing job with shaping! She will make your brows look amazing, even without the tinting. A mainly come here for that reason, but I also use them for nails, and pedicures, which is a hit or miss, all depends on who you get. I do feel like it's rushed, especially the pedicure, some times I love it, some times I don't, but I never walked out completely pissed off. Absolutely amazing! My fiancé and I both got pedicures which were amazing! They even do a foot/leg scrub and put paraffin on your heels to make them softer. I also got a filling with gel polish and 2 designs and was very pleased with the price. My nails came out perfectly shaped the way I like them and neatly polished without me saying a single word. My fiancé also got his eyebrows done which he is very particular about and loved them as well. The ambiance of the salon is amazing as well. Very modern and clean. And they have like 1 million nail colors to choose from. The manager/front desk girl was also very pleasant and helpful/personable. We both absolutely loved this salon which says a lot because my fiance hates going with me and even he said he will definitely come along next time. All in all I am positive I found my new salon! Love the ladies that work here, everyone is so nice and great at what they do. There helpful and work with each other too which is really nice. The owners are always pleasant, always have convo with every customer and they always help you out with choosing a color, matching toe and nail color and letting you know if its what your looking for. The place is def. GLAMOUR! All white everything and love the little mini chandeliers and decor on the walls. I enjoy the lotions and scrubs they use on you for your pedicure, smells really good too!Nail polishes are off the wall! Like you cant even decide on one thats how many colors they have and all top brand just like Zoya (vegan polish), OPI, Essie and some others. I think you will def. find your color here cause thats just how many they have!
