Terrible customer service. I work close to their location and have attempted to get in touch with them a multitude of times. I only persisted because its close to work and home, and I have small children. When called, phone simply rings, no answer and the machine comes on during what is listed as their normal business hours. I decided to stop in and make an appt...spent a few minutes lingering in the front area and calling out - no answer. I could see a small child in the waiting area in the back. Finally an employee comes out and snaps about being with a client. My third and final attempt was when I stopped in and the owner was the only stylist working. She took my number and promised to call the next day to schedule an appt with an available stylist. I have yet to hear from them. Read Less

I have been going to this salon since I moved to Albany from Boston. I paid hundreds of dollars for my hair color and cut by a highly reviewed hair stylist on Newbury Street in Boston and I have to say, it doesn't hold a candle to The Color Bar. The girls are all beautiful and have fabulous hair themselves (a good sign when going to a salon) and even when my preferred stylist is booked solid, I feel confident in scheduling an appointment with any of the other girls there. Awesome place, phenomenal price. I live in Saratoga and it is WELL worth the drive to be able to walk out of the salon with a renewed self-confidence. Go there, you will NOT be disappointed. I'm very picky about who does my hair and where, and I never change stylists. I got my hair done by the same woman I've been going to for years and was devastated by the cut/color I received. I figured I'd try Color Bar as recommended by many of my friends and not only did Gabby do a fantastic job fixing my hair, she did exactly what I pictured in my head the first time. I've been going to the Color Bar for almost 3 years and just introduced my boyfriend to the salon about a year ago. He goes to get his Fades done by Gabby and I've gotten my hair done by Jen G, Gabby and Kelsey. I've always been treated with the up most respect in the salon and get great compliments about my hair. I refer new clients to the salon all the time. They are very reasonable with prices and it's just a great overall atmosphere when we go there! Read Less

I have been going to The Color Bar hair studio for approx 2 years now. I am shocked by the above review where the customer was unhappy with the service she recieved. I have always been very happy there and feel that Courtney and her staff go above and beyond in terms of customer service. Danya is my stylist and has always made sure that I leave happy. They have excepted me as a walk in and arranged for my friend and I to have our hair done at the same time. I am constantly recommending them to people and as far as I am concerned there is no better place to go! Read Less

First off, I sat and waited past my appointment time while she admittedly added her family into her book for the next year. I was having a color and cut done and once I was home and changing I noticed that the stylist had let color run all over the collar of my (new) shirt. When I called to tell her she low balled an offer of 20 dollars for a shirt that retails for 44.50. (She ended up giving me thirty.) Then, she actually stated "I cannot control it." It is your job as a stylist to make sure you are careful enough not to ruin the clothing of your clients. I did not receive a real apology, nor did this particular stylist acknowledge me when I came back to the salon to pick up the check she wrote me for the ruined garment.
