This place is the ONLY place I go and have been for years. My 3 daughters go here as well, they are always trying new designs and ProNails always does amazing work. I had an appt so there was no wait.. however the tech who did my nails did not understand what i wanted at all, I had to explain it to two other people who worked there, and they had to translate. She also filed my nails way shorter than I would have liked. None of this would normally cause me to write a 3 star review, but today, only 6 days later, the gel manicure is peeling off at the cuticle. Not a good gel manicure and definitely not for the price. Went in with my step mom and sister for pedis for my birthday. Great classic pedicure, friendly and attentive staff, clean environment! It wasn't too busy at the time we went and since my sister got her polish done after us, they let us sit in the massage chairs to chat and relax while our polish dried! It was so great an relaxing. I am very happy that I found this place. I had a bad experience doing ANC with a different nail salon and I went to Pro Nails next day to try and fix it. They treated me very good, explained to me my options to make it better (they even offered to fix the nails from the day before for a cheaper price, instead of just rushing me to redo the whole thing for full price). On may 13th I went to glitter bar and they made my wedding nails so horrible I cried. I called pro nails and explained how bad it was and I only had Sunday left to get them fixed. They had me come in early Sunday morning and fixed them all up. They came out perfect and it wasn't an outrageous price. I will forever only go to this nail salon. My favorite nail shop in Saratoga Springs because the ladies who work here are so friendly & polite.  Tina does a great job with ANC nails; my manicure lasts a month and my job has me working with my hands a lot.  Small, intimate shop so they have time to be friendly & efficientPedicures are great here too with new massage chairs with tubs. I went to pro nails for the first time today and had a great experience. They have a great selection of colors that I haven't seen at other nail places in Saratoga. My tech was very friendly and helped me pick out a really pretty color for my nails. It's also in a great location downtown to get lunch or a drink after your get a manicure/pedicure. Sanitation, sanitation, sanitation.I came to pronails for a mani and pedi. The water was cold  despite me asking the nail tech to add more hot water. As soon as I sat down, the nail tech came and started filing my nails. He didn't let the feet soak .  After filing the nails and cutting the cuticles, he grabbed the lotion and rubbed it in my legs. I was surprised that within 10 minutes from the time I sat down, he was ready to polish the nails. I noticed that I still had red nail polish on one of my toes. When I pointed it out, he said that that was part of the nails. Whaaaat? All my other nails had red nail polish, which you cleaned off before you started. But this particular nail has red inside the nail? .  No soap, no salt rub during the pedi. During the pedi, I noticed that the tools for cutting, filing, and cutting the cuticles had already been opened so I wasn't sure if they had been used already and sanitized. I asked him if the tools were new (and I just hadn't seen him open the set). He said no. So I asked if they were sanitized. He mumbled and then grabbed alcohol and sprayed on all of them. When it was time for my mani, same thing with the tools. Like another reviewer mentioned, the mani table didn't look clean. And there was already a set of nail clippers and other tools in the spot. I asked if he could sanitize. My mani was done in 10 minutes!!! . Btw, the pedi tubs were NOT sanitized between clients. Gross. Had I seen this before my pedi, I would have gone some place else.  I gave 2 stars because the nail tech adhered to my sanitation requests. Read Less

Eh. Got a crap gel manicure for a higher price than I pay in Boston and it's already lifting and peeling off (in just  5 days). To me, not worth it. The girl doing my nails didn't speak a single word to me and didn't file my nails how I asked - they are totally square with sharp corners, and because they were trying to close (even though they should have been open for another hour based on the sign on the door), I didn't bother asking to fix them. I have been going to Pro Nails for 5 years and wanted to echo what Amanda K. shared about the service, comfort, and kindness of the staff. I have NEVER experienced anything to be unhygienic and I, too, go there once every 1-2 weeks. Furthermore, it is my belief, based on what I have learned of Madeleine C.'s review that she was the customer who complained, not an onlooker as stated. So, the entire review is based on a lie - not hard to believe that the information contained in her "eyewitness account" is also falsified. The motivations of someone to come onto a site like this one and slander a small business with hard working proprietors should be questioned. Tracey and Jimmy don't need customers like this, so no loss there - but there's no need to come on to Yelp and spread venomous lies because you live a vacant existence since your daughter went off to college. You're lucky there are so many tourists as I doubt you have any repeat customers. What is this place doing in Saratoga? This is the most disgusting scene from a nail salon:I never write reviews, but this was ABSURD. I sat near a really sweet woman who seemed to be getting a manicure with her daughters. They'd already been kept waiting, without complaint, and once they sat down it only got worse. The nail technician blew her nose into a paper towel, did not disinfect her hands, and then used that germ-infested, wet paper towel to wipe the cuticle clippers! It was disgusting. Thank goodness the mother caught her, since she would have used the dirty clippers on the young daughter. However, when the mother asked the technician to use another clipper, she argued and asked if the woman would like to view her dirty used paper towel from the trash rather than apologizing and hopefully washing her hands and getting new tools. After denying this revolting act, she later came out of the back area blowing her nose once again without washing after. I'll certainly never go back, nor will I allow any of my many Saratoga and Skidmore friends. PS. my nails looked bubbly and awful. Read Less

I do not understand the positive reviews here - not one bit.  I do not write a negative review lightly, but this salon is absolutely grotesque.  Absolutely FILTHY.  If I had been there for a pedicure, I wouldn't have stayed.  The male employee took care of my manicure - the table was still covered in the nail residue from the last appointment (and I'm not talking about a couple specks - I am NO germophobe - the table was COVERED).  The manicure was a joke, and cost $15.  I was probably in and out in 25 minutes, tops.  He didn't put oil on my cuticles and let it sit - instead he alternated between an alcohol swab and the cuticle cutter.  The bowl he let my fingers soak in was totally filthy and there was all kinds of residue swimming around in the water.  His breath is another topic entirely - I had to look away if he opened his mouth.  Thank god he didn't try speaking to me.  Personal hygiene is part of your job, people - no excuses.  I made the mistake of using the bathroom - I had to go in the back room, which smelled of dead fish.  The bathroom itself was disgusting.  Overall, disgusting experience.  Will never go back.  If you're into mediocrity, you'll have a great time.  This place simply does not fit in on this beautiful block in Saratoga. I went in for a gel mani and gel pedi. I was charged $68 and they didn't even do gel on my toes. I asked for French tips and it was a pretty sloppy job - the tips are uneven and a little shaky. My toes chipped after less than a week, and 9 days later my nails started chipping. I've had much better results at other salons for cheaper, and I won't be returning. Read Less

I was a walk in, here for the first time ending a great weekend away. I had an hour to kill and I thought a pedicure would be a perfect relaxing treat. The nail tech finished my "pedicure" within minutes and acted like half rubbing my legs was sufficient for the remaining time. I came in for a pedicure, not a bad massage. I proceeded to dry my nails for 15 minutes or so until I realized my skin was in worse condition than when I came in. I get rough skin on my heels from walking a lot (I live in Manhattan) and that's the main reason I get pedicures. Side note: I pay half the price for a pedicure in the city and always leave a great tip for excellent service. This is when all hell broke loose. I thought it would be reasonable to go directly to my nail tech and speak with him personally. Ask him to fix the mediocre job he'd done to right his wrong. I asked politely for him to please go over the heels again. First he wouldn't acknowledge me then he immediately interrupted me to say "thirty dollars" very curtly.I said "actually I was hoping you could smooth the bottom of my heel more because it still feels rough." He immediately got defensive and started listing every reason why he wouldn't fix it. I kept asking politely (as NOT to cause a scene) and just explained what I wanted and that I've done it myself at home. It's called A SIMPLE PEDICURE. It would have taken two minutes to do. He got up from his chair and demanded that I pay. I'm all of 5'2" and don't respond well when a man stands up and gets hostile. This is when I explained that if that's his position then I wasn't going to pay the full amount because I wasn't going to get what I was paying for. I offered to pay $20 instead of $30 OR have him ATTEMPT to fix what he missed.  Sounds reasonable to me... This is a customer service business after all. This is when the other employees defended him and insulted me multiple times! I've worked in many customer service jobs and would NEVER speak to a customer like this. EVER. This is when I decided I had it and refused to pay. I told him "I'm not going to argue with you" and went to leave. He ran to the door and actually blocked the door and threatened to call the police. THE POLICE?! What is this!? I'm a well spoken, kind, well educated woman and was treated like a low life. Pretty insane to think this could get even worse. I told him to call the cops. I'd be happy to explain how I was harassed and held against my will. I had finally had enough and told him I'd pay the $30. I had to get out of this crazy store. I left and immediately charged it back on my credit card. I'm an educated consumer and would NEVER let these people win.Go to this place at your own risk. I went to Pro Nails for the first and only time earlier this week. There were a couple things I liked. They brought me to a table immediately when I walked in the door even though it was crowded and the people who work there are for the most part pretty friendly. I got acrylics done by a young man who was really distracted the whole time. He was looking around the room while filing my nails and he messed up quite a few times. He was blatantly hitting on me and at a few points made me extremely uncomfortable. He also told me he hates doing fake nails, right in the middle of putting mine on. I got white tips, and they're all different sizes. On some, the white part goes almost half way down my nail and on others, it starts close to the end of my natural nail. The acrylic part is unusually thick and very uneven. They're all different lengths and sizes.At the end, they argued back and forth about how much to charge me. On the phone I had been told it would cost $28. I ended up paying $40 and my nails look terrible. I had contacted them and asked to get them redone for free, but I'm not even going to go back (they said I could come in and they would "take a look"). I painted over them and filed them myself and I'm going to go somewhere else and pay to get a new set put on. I'm never going back and I definitely don't recommend it. Read Less

Pro Nails was great - they quickly got our party of five in and out of the salon.  I was a bridesmaid for a wedding on 10-13-12 and we landed on Pro Nails like we owned Saratoga Springs. We went in on a Friday afternoon with a bridal party of five and the stars much have been in alignment b/c we were able to get in without a wait. I could see this place filling up - so the earlier you can get there, the better. I got the gel manicure and my nails looked great. I have never had the shellac & although I won't be getting it any time soon, it lasted for 2 weeks and the nail tech was nice enough to explain the removal process to me before she painted my nails. They had a huge selection of regular & gel colors and I felt the price was just right too. Read Less

I've been going to Pro Nails for about 5 years now.  I've gone through my acrylic phase with them, both regular and pink and white, regular manicures, pedicures and most recently the Shellac.   There are several nail options in downtown Saratoga but I consistently choose Pro Nails because of the amazing services I receive.  They are always greet me by name when I walk in the door and never try to sell me a service I don't need.  In fact, I requested a more expensive service at one point and they knew my nails and I well enough to tell me it wouldn't work and that I shouldn't waste my money.  This accommodation and honesty is what keeps me coming back.As far as pedicures go, how can you go wrong with not only a massaging chair and the latest Us Weekly, but a killer foot and leg massage to go along with it!I've had to use other salons in dire circumstances and truth be told am rarely satisfied.  Definitely recommended Pro Nails, and you MUST try the Shellac!
