The person who answered the phone was helpful and quickly set me up for an appointment with a hair stylist that would fit my needs. I paid a little more to have Caitlyn cut my hair and it was worth it! The pre haircut consultation was perfect. I told her a few ideas of what I might want, she listened, and then expertly told me what would work best with my hair type and age. I trusted her immediately and was able to relax. Called and left a message on Monday to make an appointment for a group of 5 to 6 people for Saturday morning. No return phone call. Call again Wednesday night and was laughed at and rudely told I should have called sooner and that they could not accomadate our group. When I told the woman on the phone that I had already called and left a message, she continued to go on about how it was still my fault. Came here for leg waxing. The staff was friendly but the girl who waxed me did a terrible job. I came home to find that the back of my legs looked like they got road rash and I still had patches that were completely missed. My go to place in Rochester! Brooke is fabulous with color, and Bonnie hands down does the best facials and eyebrows in Rochester! Was excited to go for a hour swedish massage because last year when I went it was amazing.  Not sure I had the same person or not but it was not the best massage I've had. First,  I waited almost 20 minutes past my scheduled time in the waiting room,  I was almost to the point of going to see if I was forgotten about when the massage therapist appeared. I don't even remember her name because the receptionist told me I was seeing one person  and the name didn't match.  The massage had moments of being great,  but she only used one hand at a time which was odd. It only led me to wonder what she was doing with her other hand the whole time. ..texting? Then she would stop  and I would wonder if we were done because she would stop for so long, only to have her abruptly start massaging again. When she did my neck she would squeeze my neck and stop, then quickly squeeze again and stop.  It was very choppy without the fluid massage movement.  Maybe it's a new technique I haven't had,  but it was very disappointing. -Jenn Read Less

I had an extremely stressful week and I decided to go into Park Ave Salon & Day Spa and get a half hour Swedish Massage. My masseuse was Kassidy, she worked out all of my knots in my shoulders, made me feel very comfortable. The whole experience was extremely relaxing. I did not have to wait long, the place was very clean, and everyone was nice and helpful. I have only had a few massages in my life, but this was definitely tops the list. Extremely disappointed.  Got the best facial I ever had on one visit so I wanted to become a regular, but the front desk skillset will keep me away.  I have been to spas all over Rochester and in other cities throughout the US and have never experienced this type of blatant disregard for customer service. I showed up to my appointment on time and was left to wait in the waiting room upstairs. And wait. and wait.  No one checked in on me, offered anything in terms of an explanation while I waited. I tried to call the front desk and was immediately out on hold. I literally hung up and walked downstairs and the front desk employees were socializing with each other (so obviously put the customer on hold). They told me the esthetician was running late. Fine, I get it, but don't just leave people hanging AND then offer nothing, no reschedule, no quickie nail polish change NOTHING to keep the customer from walking out. Super disappointed. It's always a special relationship when you put your looks in the hands of someone.  I've moved out of town and when I returned I tried other locals spas. Eventually I returned to Park Ave.  I still try a Groupon or Living Social coupon every now and then... and it reinforces why I go to Park Ave.Maria and Nicky are my go to hair cut, highlight and colorists.   Love them. Others have filled in and also give great cuts.  Bonnie takes care of my brows and lashes, and when my feet need tending, Kimmy gives an awesome pedi.I like being greeted by name when I arrive. I don't have to queue to pay.  I book appointments easily to match my schedule.  And the coffee is good too!There are some days when I wish they had a giant parking lot like the suburb spas, but the city location is wonderful.  Before or after my appointment there are lots of places in walking distance to meet friends, including the Boulder Coffee next door. Park ave salon is one of the best salons I've been to. When I moved here from Georgia, I was hesitant to try a new place. Everyone in the salon is so friendly and kind. Initially, I had a treatment done on my hair which did not turn out as expected due to my hair type. They were extremely helpful and worked with me to get the results I wanted. I have been getting my hair cut at Park Ave Salon for about four years now and would not consider going elsewhere. Brooke is my go-to stylist, although they are all fabulous.I recently tried an in-salon deep conditioning treatment, which came in at only $20 and really rejuvenated my hair after this winter. Female haircuts are a bargain as well at about $40 depending on the stylist.Can't recommend this place highly enough -- best salon in the city! Read Less

I have never gotten my hair done here, but I do get waxes on a regular basis.  Bonnie is great and very professional.  I feel very comfortable and welcomed here.  The staff have bold and loud personalities and that is what I love about it so much! I get my brows done here, and ONLY here. The two brow technicians here do the best job of any salon in Rochester. They are friendly, gentle, fast, and thorough. My brows look like a work of art after months of visiting them.I also got my hair colored & cut here once, using a Groupon. It was AWESOME--the stylist did a fantastic job, and I was really impressed. I went much darker, a shade I'd never done before, and I had no clue which shade would look best with my complexion and hair type. I have been going to this salon since 2001 (I think?!), and I even made every effort possible to come back here on trips home when I lived in another city. It was the toughest kind of long distance relationship to have! Since I started coming here, the talented, kind staff now also see my mom, sister, and a variety of all of our friends for one simple reason -- they do good work and they're good people! They traveled on-site to my wedding to do hair and make-up, and after seeing the results, my best friend insisted on having them at hers as well. Lori Ann, Tierany and Nicky were an easy-going, conscientious team to have around on a stressful, busy day! And the results were flawless. I usually see Nicky for highlights or cut, but would feel comfortable seeing anyone else on staff there. Between my friends, family and I, we have had just about every service imaginable here (massage, mani, pedi, wax, brows, facial, up-do, make-up, etc), and we've always walked away pleased. The reception staff is accommodating and thorough, and they have even helped us exchange products and also a broken flat-iron. One important thing my family,friends and I have noticed...the SAME group of people have been working here for 10 years!  Even despite an ownership/management change. Bought from Groupons for my mom to try because she was looking for a new salon.  Definitely not worth the full cost.  The Groupon only covered about 1/3 of the cost.  She got the cut, color and highlights.  The cut was meh - she's got an easy short bob style yet they still charged her extra and for what?  Hmmm...Then the color was a disaster!  They didn't even cover her grey roots!  WTF!  She had to go back a second time to have them redo the highlights since you couldn't even tell there were highlights yet the grey roots are still there! These stylists are either blind or they don't care.  Either case, I would NOT recommend this place. Read Less
