I visited MMO earlier today and I must say, overall, I enjoyed patronizing this salon. I got a Gel Pedicure w/ Jelly. Originally, I made an appointment (almost a month before) for Gel Pedicure w/ Paraffin but about an hour before my appointment they called to tell me they no longer offered Paraffin and that they were cancelling my appointment because pedicures were on special today. I wish they would've let me know sooner, for instance, before I had already left home... but it wasn't a big deal. I was able to be seen as soon as I arrived.The reviews scared the hell out of me but I'm glad I didn't let them deter me.PROS.-Employees are very polite!-Decor is super cute and modern-$10 Pedicure Tuesdays-Jelly Pedicure was so good and my heels feel like butter! Okay. BUTTER.EHH.-The Gel Application. I'm used to paying $50+ for Gel Pedicures in Williamsburg so this application for the price, it isn't terrible.CONS.-Seats aren't all that comfortable for short (wo)men. The place is so lackadaisical with peoples time. I was there for 5 hours for nails and eyelashes with an appointment with no other customers in store. Ive given this place a chance about 4 times because i liked the atmosphere. However i'm now trying to find a new place to get my eyebrows done. the first time i went, a girl who i can tell was inexperienced waxed my eyebrows. this was april 2017. they were okay, but they weren't what i wanted(first pic). the second time i went, another more experienced girl waxed my brows and did a marvelous job. they were the best my eyebrows ever looked, and she even filled them in perfectly(second pic). the third time i went, i experienced hell. she completely messed my eyebrows up soooo bad. i wanted to cry. (third pic) it was the worst my eyebrows ever looked and i didn't even tip the girl that did them. i decided to go a fourth time to see if i can get the girl that did my eyebrows the second time to do them again. she did them, but they weren't as good as the first time. (forth & fifth pic). the last, most recent time i went, was when i drew the line. i was tired of getting hit or miss eyebrows. she had told me she had only waxed eyebrows 4 times. i was basically practice to her. it was the worst. i cried when i got home. i don't have a picture for that one, i was too emotionally exhausted to document that atrocity LMAO. so that's my timeline of going to this place. would i recommend it? hell no! save your $10 sis! I went there to get my eyebrows done and after more than one hour, she said she could do them even though I asked before hand is there anyone else that can attend me. I waited all that time and she finally takes me after i asked 3x!! The young lady that usually does my eyebrows is very nice and courteous, but she was doing someone's makeup which took hours to do. Two stars because of my previous experience with hair service and the customer I received that specific day and time because it was empty and simple walk in, other than that I've returned for acrylic nail filling and designs I had previously called to schedule an appointment hours before and she said I did not need to make an appointment, i come in, they charged me before service... with no problem I pay and sit to WAIT which I really did not come here to do especially if I'm paying before I even get the service, there's literally three nail techs occupied and one more person before me, this girl before me happened to be waiting at least two hours, she's in for a simple mani and pedi after the two hours they make her soak and tell her someone would be right with her it's literally been 35 minutes and no one attends her nor checks on her as her feet are soaked in the water, she gets up and leaves. I myself have been waiting for an hour for service and the nail techs are doing nothing but a gel manicure... this business has a nice concept and all but it's truly under highly unprofessional management owned by someone who clearly has no clue on running a business professionally and lacks responsibility in making sure the employees are on top of everything, seems more like a layed back "not my customer not my problem" type of lazy employees. They lack how to perform simple customer service, even if it's dead empty in the store! I gave this place a chance despite the bad reviews and I honestly now comprehend their reviews and totally agree  , this business has multiple services being offered with little space, short staff and limited equipment I notice the nail techs going back and fourth to each other taking tools, you cannot run a business and try to pack all services in the world in one poorly operated store especially if you cannot perform decent proper service in one field, this place lacks a lot of improvement I wanted to support this place and make it my go to but I will not recommend nor be returning. I had been to different nail salons in Jamaica looking for a place that does powder acrylic and was very happy when I found this place. It's closer to my house, so I figured I found a more convenient option rather than traveling downtown to my old place in Manhattan every time I needed a fill in. It's better if you make a reservation, but as a walk-in they accommodated me rather quickly. The technicians that did my gel pedicure and manicure were good; I was pleased with the outcome. What ruined the rating for this review was the horrific eyebrow waxing that was done. I'm on a search for a good eyebrow threader after the person who originally did mine in the Financial District left. I settled for the wax (they only do waxing for eyebrows) here because I was leaving for Europe that night. My right eyebrow was left patchy and the arches on both eyebrows were waxed away. Upon butchering my eyebrows, the lady tried to fill my eyebrows in with a liner and couldn't get it right. If it weren't for the fact that I can practically re-create my eyebrows with makeup, I would be SOL.Needless to say, I'm still on a search for a good place for eyebrows and powder acrylic close to home. Hmm... where do I begin It was my first experience at this salon , the ambiance is nice , it gives you a kind of royalty feeling. Imagine having all of your services in one place that was a very great idea Other than those two reason I was highly disappointed. Here is why. You have to pay for your services before you get them done. Which doesn’t leave much room for you to changer your mind. The wait time was pretty long, but I couldn’t leave because I paid. While waiting I was given a book too look at the gel color I wanted, but when it was time to polish, I was told they do not have that color. ( that was the only color I wanted so I settled for another. When I was done getting my nails done I changed the color on my toes. Now me being indecisive as usual realized when I was drying my feet that I did not like the color I stated this to the staff member, but asked her if I can come back tomorrow ( because it was super busy) to change it, she informed me I can and I would have to pay 5 dollars. No big deal Now here is where my dissatisfaction really came to surface with make me over beauty bar. My gel chipped 2 day after. And one of my nails were off in a week. Basically my nail job was horrible. I went back to them ASAP, which for me was a week later. The staff member in the front asked for my receipt, I handed it to her and she stated she did not see my transaction in the computer after looking for 5 min. HUH?!?! I gave you a receipt genius!! Then after another 2 min she basically told me that nothing could be done because I didn’t call the day it was chipped. I asked her if gel is supposed to lay 2 weeks and she told me I could have been picking my nails HUH AGAIN!! Anyway the customer service is horrible!! Read Less

The only reason I am giving this place one star is because atmosphere of the place is nice. Walking in makes you feel almost like royalty. Customer service and quality is very crappy. This place is bad and boujee literally made me pay for a service I never got done because the nail tech "didn't have lunch and was moody" and these are their words not mine! Told me come back tomorrow at 9 am like I don't have a job they didn't want to give me a refund (even tho the lady pressured me to pay when I knew that didn't make any sense she told me "if I don't pay someone else could come in and take my spot") so I left still haven't been issued a refund or store credit! I work in the area and tried this place out while taking a long lunch break. I was told there was a five minute wait but I waited over fifteen minutes. I identified myself as sensitive but I felt as if it was intentionally rough. Because if this I declined cuticle care and sole care being that it was off to a rough start. The place is cute but not functional. The chairs are very oversized so you can't really sit back if they are to reach your feet. And no massage chairs? The pedicure should be $15 and not $20 just for the skimping on chair choice. The dryers are so annoying and are set to turn off after 1 minute. Really? 1 minute? I had to keep bending over and turning it back on. I wanted to use the bathroom but chose not to after walking in and looking. I saw other people use it and I can't imagine how. Based on how I'm feeling I would give this place a 3 but all things factored in they do provide a great service plus it's clean. You really feel pampered. BUTTT we had 1pm appointments and after being told 25 mins twice, I didn't sit in the chair until 3:02pm. I was able to soak my feet but my service still didn't start for another 30mins. The receptionist put on my lavender rub and offered me some wine I guess to make me feel better but the annoyance was all to real at that point. My technician did a good job and took her time. My friend still hadn't even started when I did. She waited maybe another 25-30mins to start. My manicure didn't include a few steps for the spa like the additional rub down and massage but I know she was tired and hungry. Still As good as it was I don't know if I can spend another 5 hours of my life waiting for a mani/pedi! My technician said it's only like this on Sunday since it's just two people....but i don't know...12:50-5:40 was enough, if it wasn't for already redeeming our Groupon we would of really been gone! Probably the worst nail salon I have ever came to in my life! I don't usually write reviews but this salon disgusted me. I came in for acrylics for prom and ended up waiting 3 hours for someone to attend me, that ruined most of my day. I came in around 10:30 am and didn't get attended until 1 pm. Ridiculous amount of time to wait just for acrylic nails. Once I was finally seated to get my nails done I sat for a while because the lady didn't have her tools prepared. Here's where the worst part comes, she doesn't even buff or file my nails before and after applying the tips, she just went straight to applying crazy glue directly to the tip onto my nails, not to mention she got crazy glue stuck on my fingers which really hurt but I did not complain. Once she finally applied the tips she messed up one finger and just took it off like nothing not to mention is was already dry and it messed up and hurt my nail. Once she finally got the acrylic on my nails they were all crooked, not one was the same shape I had asked for, I asked for coffin shaped and they were not coffin shaped I have no idea what shape she even attempted, when she was filing it into shape she made one of my fingers cuticle bleed after I told her to not go so hard. Once she started to apply the nail polish she didn't even apply a bottom clear coat on my first hand, I reminded her that you're supposed to put a bottom and top coat. I am so dissatisfied, $37 for tips and they do a terrible job, you shouldny have to remind a person working at a nail salon how to do nails. Do not come here please you can get better nails for a lower price, it's not worth $37. I don't believe the lady wasn't even certified or licensed to do nails because there was no license up on the walls. They do not refund your money either! Terrible never come here ladies please. I went here yesterday and I love this place. The staff is so nice and pleasant they have awesome deals everyday of the week. But i love to go on wednesdays which is wine wednesdays enjoy a glass of wine while you get a mani and pedi for $25  i just love this place i will definitely be back........oh did i mention it was a black owned business......i will admit that they need to stock up on nail polish, they did NOT have a good variety of colors and I didn't like that didn't have the color I wanted at all but they had a cute backup lol.... overall my visit was delightful Read Less

Came here yesterday afternoon with a Groupon the idea of this place it great to the execution is poor. Upon entering the "receptionist" was on her phone and playing with her hair! Made my way to desk and was asked what services I would like, I told them I had a Groupon and wanted to try the lavender spa manicure and pedicure I was instructed to pull up Groupon and my voucher was immediately more redeemed before any services was giving. I told to have a seat someone lll me with me in 5 minutes. I asked if there was a store near to grab a drink. Upon returning another customer comes in for a gel polish change on toes and I was told get my nails done and not my feet first I insisted on doing my feet first but was denied because they let the other lady get her polish changed first! So I proceed to get my nails done, by a lady that speaks little to no English. Their idea of a lavender spa manicure is lotion filled gloves and a orange colored Scrub and lotion. After getting my manicure  I'm directed to drier and wait for my pedicure, any other customer walks in for a pedicure and is almost seat when I have to inform the worker I'm next and waiting for a spa pedicure. Karen did a wonderful job on my feet but I was not given a spa pedicure. In fact she prepared my feet for a gel pedicure it wasn't until it was time to polish that she realized I wasn't getting gel epic fail! I was at this "Salon" from 5pm until minutes to 8pm it was wine Wednesday and I was NEVER once offered a glass of wine when I saw others with it!!! They don't have massage chairs for when getting your feet done instead the have these oversized pink chairs that look cute but are very difficult to seat in when getting serviced. Getting a manicure and pedicure should be a time to relax but in here it's just a waste of time and you'll be fanning flies away throughout your time here. I came to this establishment because my cousin told it was black owned and I wanted to put some money back in my community's pockets and support my own but I was truly disappointed. I got my toes done on Tue for $10.54, they have specials during the weekday, the wait was obviously long but I waited, the lady that did my toes was nice however she didn't want to scrape the dead skin off the back of my foot, she rather use a foot scrubber against my wishes which was honestly the only thing that was annoying. I wore slides and she made sure to do my toes while my feet were secured so I wouldn't mess up the polish, I spent alot of time under the dryer and made sure my toes were dry before leaving. Once I got home one of my toes was bare like I didn't sit and wait almost 2 hrs to get my toes done and spend almost 30 min drying. One by one a whole nail of polish came off and it came off clean and then I remembered she put oil on my toes before she put polish and I've never had that done before, but now I can see why my whole nail polish came off clean. I am so disappointed with this salon, after I called and told them what happened, the boss said that they aren't responsible for what happens after I leave their salon, the sad thing about it is, it wasn't like my nail polish was smudged, the whole polish came off clean like it wasn't even done in the first place and now I have to redo my toes all because it wasn't done right in the 1st place. If i could give less than 1 star I certainly would. This place outdid themselves in poor service. Just as you think it can't get any worse, oh just wait for it, it gets much worse. Firstly, they charge when you enter once you specify what you'd like (now you'd of course expect that since they go ahead and take your money, SURELY can do what you're paying for right??? WRONG!!) so i initially called to enquire about "chrome nails" and was informed it is $5 per toe (yeah, you read right...$5 PER TOE!!!) so i went in with the idea that I'd get 2 toes done in chrome polish and the rest plain. I had a photo at hand which i showed the receptionist of the store to double check that they definitely do chrome nails. She confidently assured me they do and quoted me my total, charging my card and directing me to the seating area. The pedicure was Okay, after waiting approximately 40mins to be seated with the ONE nail tech available. I noticed she was very confused with what she was doing. Now let me add here that the nail tech speaks NO ENGLISH AT ALL so i had to google translate what i came for since the manager was initially nowhere to be found. The manager then confirms what i came in for and discovers they dont have the colour i requested............ *lets take a moment of silence for the complete INCONVENIENCE*An exchange of words went on between the manager and the nail tech before SEVERAL ATTEMPTS to create the chrome colour using a base colour and a different colour chrome powder. Now at this point things got messy... the chrome was EVERYWHERE. Staining my skin. She struggled to clean the surrounding area and get the colour right. I signalled for her to stop and asked if i could just have something else done, it had been exactly 1 hour and a half total since i entered the store. The store was closing and i was the last client there watching this poor nail tech struggle to get the chrome polish right. I applaud her efforts but i was a little disappointed that the manager practically ignored me when i asked to just do something else instead as if it would take too long to remove what was done... as if that's my fault... sighEventually, i pulled back and refused to let her continue any longer, she removed the chrome off my toes with the machine and painted my toes white in gel polish. The final look, streaky and uneven. At this point i wanted my money back but of course their store policy is no refund, store credit only... i checked my receipt and realised i was charged $20 for the pedicure + $5 x2 for the chrome polish PLUS and extra $5??? I brought this to the managers attention and in line with her wonderful customer service, i was given a STORE CREDIT not a refund!!! I came in today, giving them the benefit of doubt that they'd provide the same poor service on a manicure... sadly, i was wrongPaid for: Gel acrylic Received: Gel polish on natural nails...Reason: oh, i didnt hear you say tips, we dont do gel acrylic nailsSo once again, they took the store credit + $$$ and they DONT DO WHAT I PAID FORSigh, i will NEVER EVER come here not even to use their bathroom. So i came here June 6th, I've been planning on coming here for a while now, because its so cute chic and modern! I came in for the $10 pedi's on Tuesday. I paid as soon as a came in, which i actually preferred. I lovedddd my pedicure! It was nice and long! Very relaxing! Sometimes you go to these nail salons and they do a rush job, but here the lady really took her time to perfect it and made me feel like i was getting pampered! The decor is absolutely beautiful and the service was great! I will deff be back and might even make this my new salon! My only con was the fact that the chair was not a massage chair and because im kind of short it was a lil uncomfortable to sit in and let my feet reach at first. Came here a couple weeks ago and it was the worst nail experience I've had. Would give negative stars if possible. I came in on the Thursday $20 full set deal day and asked the girl up front how long the wait would be for a full set. She tells me 15 minutes and I'm thinking that's perfect. You have to pay for your services before hand and there's a big sign saying no refunds which sucks because I definitely want one after this experience. I sit down to wait and time keeps going and going by and I'm still waiting. About an hour and some change passes and the woman I'm guessing in charge comes up and tells me it will be an even longer wait and there's two people ahead of me whom still need their nails done. She says well you can go get some food or something. I go get food and come back and am still waiting for about another hour before I finally was seated. My nail technician was so sweet and nice but she did acrylic extremely thin and she said because she was doing the gel she didn't want to make it too thick. Also, I requested and paid for a certain shape and they were just square and wide even asking her to file them down multiple times. I was getting my nails done for a trip I went on and two of them winded up popping off with ease the day I got abroad. Then when I was leaving the salon, the manager stopped me and said it would be $10 extra for gel. I had to dig in my bag for the receipt and show that that is in fact what I paid for and she simply said oh okay. No apology or anything. Definitely will never come here again. The space itself is beautiful: the pink thrones and pedicure stations are so cute, and the private rooms are pretty as well. Certain areas leave something to be desired in comparison, such as the drying stations. Came in for "toes Tuesday" ($10 regular pedi) as a walk-in, was quoted a 15-30 minute wait, but it ended up being almost an hour. Be warned, they don't have the largest selection of colors, and were missing some of my favorite OPI shades. They do have the Louboutin polishes, but it's an extra $10! My technician was friendly and sweet, and did a great job on my pedicure. I did make sure there was an autoclave, and everything looked pretty sanitary. For $10, you can't beat it. They also do $5 manicures on Monday's and $20 for both on Wednesday's. Overall a great addition to the neighborhood that with a few extra touches could be incredible! Read Less

I don't even know where to begin!!!! This place came recommended by a friend. I purchased a Groupon and booked my appt 24 hrs in advance. I requested Izzy for threading of the eyebrows as per a friends suggestion. I was assured she would be there to perform my services. I arrived there at 10:30, hoping they could take me earlier and the front desk receptionist, named Abby said no one had arrived as of yet. I came back at 11 only to be told that no one was in to perform any of my scheduled services. I was at a loss for words..... I asked to use the restroom and Abby gave me a weird look. I didn't put two and two together but I had to go bad so I went to the back. The condition of this bathroom was DEPLORABLE. I have never seen such atrocities. The toilet bowl was covered in urine. There was no soap or toilet paper. The floor was saturated with urine around the toilet bowl and the entire room smelt of amonia/urine. This is supposed to be an establishment that caters to women and should be aesthetically pleasing as well sanitary. Upon leaving the restroom, I looked into the other rooms which had piles of dirty laundry in them and heaps of dirty and used table papers in piles all around the room. The chairs for the pedicures are cute at first glance until you see the soap scum rings and dirt in the tubs to soak your feet. I immediately told Abby the condition of the salon bathroom and establishment in itself is UNACCEPTABLE!!!! She agreed and said, "This is how this place is and if I don't clean, no one will. I wouldn't get any services done here if I were you!" This was enough for me!!!! I asked to speak to the owner and she laughed and said she knows about this, and well..... She won't be back until way later, if even at all. I could not believe this is how this business is run.Needless to say I walked out. Regardless if I even wanted to get any services done, there was still NO ONE there to perform services anyway!!!! RUN FAR AWAAY FROM THIS DUMP!! Dirty, unsanitary & unprofessional to say the very least. I rarely write reviews, this was a treat for me to get a break, but instead I wasted my time. I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks, absolutely love them! The best gel nails going, I've found it so hard to find somewhere where they last without chipping! Now I have! And the spray tan! Had a full leg wax on Tuesday with Amy using her new 'top notch expensive' wax and as the first client for this product, I have to share as the results are excellent.
