I just left here so disappointed. I've been coming to this salon for years on and off when I'm in the neighborhood. they are no longer open late. The door sign says 11-6 and after 6 is by appointment only. Thankfully I had called ahead. I got a powder gel manicure and a pedicure. The lady that did my nails was in such a rush, but there was no one else there. She didn't fully remove the powder gel I already had on so now my nails are super thick. For my pedicure she didn't even put lotion on my feet or legs. I literally could have done better myself. Two ladies came in while I was in the chair and she told them it would be too long of a wait so they left. EVERYTHING was rushed and unpleasant. I called to check their hours before arriving, and was told that it was 11am-10pm. I arrived at 1:30pm to an empty store with only 1 employee, and was told to come back in 30 min because she was having lunch. Everyone needs to eat, but there should definitely at least be 1 other employee or at least mention the unavailable time when I called. Completely unprofessional. This was by far the worst nail salon I have ever been to. I went w my girlfriend and 12 pm on a Saturday for it to be completely dead. Which I already saw something fishy. Then the lady who did my girlfriends nails cut her nails all crooked and the guy who did my nails got nail polish all over my pinky toe skin. This was just disgusting and horrible sloppy work. I went to this salon 3 weeks ago and the woman cut my big toe and a few days later contracted a serious infection. Skin started flaking three toes Inflamed and red. Went to foot doctor they put me on antibiotics and foot cream, a week later no relief at all. Went to city MD they changed meds to a stronger antibiotic saying it may be staph and cellulitis is present. I have never had this type of issue and I am mortified and embarrassed of how disgusting my foot looks. Going to see another foot doctor today. How to murder your nails: go to Fresh Meadows Nail Salon. I came here around 9 on a Wednesday and asked how long until it would be my turn. I only came to get my gel nails removed. I was told ten minutes. Twenty five minutes passed until it was my turn. I sat at a nail dusted station, which she wiped down with a dirty rag. She then started soaking, and when I asked how long, she said ten minutes. Another customer, let's call her Martha, who came in ten minutes after I did was still waiting but when another customer came after she was done setting up my soak, she ignored Martha. Fifteen minutes passed until I asked her to check mine but of course they "weren't done" so I waited another ten minutes. She switched back and forth between me and Martha, USING THE SAME TOOLS. I get that most nail salons pretend to be sanitary but she could have at least pretended. She was impatient that my quality nails (which I did not get done here) were strongly cured to my nails. She said at this salon they use shellac so that it's easier to remove (and also easier to chip so ya gotta come back to get em done more often ifyaknowwhaim$ayin). She then proceeded to use a rough file and told me I could wash my hands and I was done. I washed them and came back, noticing there was still purple nail polish on my nail. She didn't get up to help me but reached for my hand as she was sitting at Martha's station and used the same file to roughly file down my nails some more. HORRIBLE TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS! I went there earlier today to fix a broken nail. The lady (not the owner) began fixing my nail with gel powder. As she kept filing I noticed the surface was still bumpy, to my surprise she started buffing the nail. I asked her, "Can you apply my nail polish and when it dries apply a clear UV gel coat?" All of my other nails had a UV gel top coat so the clear nail polish wouldn't match. She said "No we don't do that here. Pay now." Her nasty tone and poor filing job left me unsatisfied so I gave her the exact cost of the fix: $5. After applying my nail polish she put her hand out and said "Tip?" I told her "Tips are optional based on satisfaction and experience." She began screaming, "I work for you to tip me" and continued waving her hand. To shut her up I gave her a dollar, but felt angry after doing so. Money was not an issue for me, it was the customer service. I refuse to tip someone who is doing a botched job. As I find myself without a car recently I had to come here because its walking distance from my house. I wont be coming back, id rather take the bus to my regular spot Nail Envy. I came in, only 2 workers taking care of 2 customers. I sat down and waited about 20 mins before they told me to have a seat in the pedicure chair. One of the ladies was finishing a manicure and then once done told me to wait in the chair while she ate lunch. 15 mins later my pedicure began. I felt like it was rushed. Barely any foot scrub or massage which is what I look forward to. While putting the polish on the lady was getting it on my toes. She cleaned it up after but why be so sloppy. I've been coming here for a couple of years because of their late hours. They had a different staff before but the new staff is horrendous with the exception of MAYBE one (who looked new).I came last night for a pedicure and fill in. No one greeted me although I had an appt and as I explained what I wanted she interrupted me and said "ok ok" -_-The pedicure was so quick and SLOPPY and she barely cut the cuticles- I had to remind her. She was clearly in a rush (even though there was no one waiting).I was looking at my hands as she was filing and she said "excuse me why are you looking at your nails?" Why wouldn't I be looking at my nails as you are doing them? I wasn't moving my hands or disrupting her. Where was I supposed to stare? At her forehead?When she did my nails they were filed so crooked.It's sad when you're at the salon telling yourself you'll fix what you're PAYING for when you get home.When I was done drying I tipped her 15% which is WAAAAY more generous than she deserved and she looked at the money, put it in her pocket and didn't even say thank you. ( I had to tell my lady to clean the cuticle cutter she was using on me, she proceeded to say not to worry because it's not used on feet only hands. Don't do what they're asked/instructed to do. Critical communication barrier works against customer. If you're not aggressively firm with what you want and you want it, they'll default to the more expensive services without getting your permission. You won't know until you are given the bill. And definitely don't pay for what you didn't want, ask for or if they rushed you in any way; once you pay, they pretty much kick you out of the store. Be careful dont go to this place ,, I got really bad infection on one of my fingers after a nails cut and polish , the tools that they use For manicure is not clean for sure because when i came she was finishing a customer and she did not open or bring a nee tools she used the same one that was at the table,, i never had on my life like that infection after a manicure,, my finger is still swollen and has yellow discharge coming out,, It's really painful, she probably cuts the nails wrong plus the tools the she used was not clean so I ended up having infection as you see the redness and swollen on the picture. Just left the salon very disappointed. The woman there was so impatient and rude. Its hard to believe but she literally just told me that she is too tired to file my nails and if I want I can come back tonight when someone else is there to do it. This is after I already sat soaking my powder gel nails for 20 minutes, she didn't even want to remove the foil or cotton! After begging her to file my nails and finish the manicure she rolled her eyes, agreed to and was rushing the entire manicure. Stop talking about your customers. I'm Chinese and got my nails done and they just kept talking about me. I apparently look Korean to a lot of people but I just wish people would stop assuming and just talk less trash.Not a huge selection of gel colors or a lot of workers. This place is opened late which is a huge plus. One of my nails broke and it was Sunday night and my usual salon was closed. So I came here in hopes that they had the color. But they didn't, and I ended up getting something similar which the lady was patient with... but she couldn't understand why I wanted a uv gel tip over my ripped nail and wasn't sure what she wanted to charge me. Treated terribly!! So much for my 830p appt. I showed up early bc I requested fill in w. Reg Polish and toe polish change. I did a pedi as my lady was busy with a client. By time I finished she was still working on her client. Now it's time for my nails and she tells me no? There's no time for fill in! That I must soak ? Lady these aren't gels, and I asked to remove my polish at least,She denied my pedi girl to do that for me! What? She asked me to come backThe next day. So..
