Where do I start.... Jaime is a color genius! I am notorious to box dying my own hair, and regretting it. I've tried other salons to bring me back to blond and am never satisfied. The Beauty Bar and Salon is a unique experience. The salon is beautiful, clean and welcoming. The stylist at this salon are professional and dedicated to their craft. The salon owner, Stacy, values continuing education to keep up with new hair trends. The stylist frequently attend hair workshops and master classes to keep up with new trends and techniques. You can basically ask for any hairstyle or color you can find in a fashion magazine and they will get it to a tee. I've been a costumer since they have opened and have gotten my hair cut, colored, balayaged at the Beauty Bar and Salon. Currently, I go once a months to get my roots done. When you enter your greeted by a very sweet and professional front desk duo.. the cuts,blowouts, color, and customer service at this place is nothing short of top notch! One word for this place AMAZING!! I recently moved up here from the city. I have been with the same hair dresser for the past few years because I have  very thick hair which I know can be challenging at times for certain people to cut. I was in desperate need of a haircut but explained to the receptionist I was a bit nervous that I was trying a new place. She told me not to worry and  I was given a girl named Briana who sat and consulted with me first. She was very patient and professional knowing that I was nervous since I have not used anyone new for my hair in years. Well let me just tell you this little petite red head really wowed me! This review is long overdue. A few months back I made my first appointment at this salon for a quick cut and glaze-- I had an important event the following day. My hairdresser was a very young redhead. I should point out that I'm not very picky about my hair so long as it's not too dramatic; I gave her very little room for error. I didn't have my hair blown out after the cut and glaze due to a personal emergency I had to deal with. I left having payed $100+tip. That night I had someone point out that my hair had been butchered. I've seen plenty of positive reviews on here so I'm assuming it was just my hairdresser. My hair was a joke. A friend I don't get to see often was on tour at the time and I went to visit him at his show at The Gramercy. Long story short, I spent way too much of my time bolting from photographers, it was awful. It still baffles me that my hairdresser let me leave the establishment with that sad excuse for a haircut. So I was used to paying half the price for a haircut in CT and couldn't find anything comparable in the Westchester area and I'm frankly too lazy to drive more than 15 minutes for a haircut. So I gave in and decided amongst one of the places nearby and selected the beauty bar, honestly worried I was going to pay for a over priced cut that didn't look any better than your average joes. But I got paired with Brianna who did a great job on my hair cut. She did everything I asked for and she payed a great attention to detail but was also quick! She explained why she cut my hair one way vs another which was awesome because most hair dressers don't explain why they're doing anything and just zombie like cut your hair. I don't quite understand all the rave reviews. It's a nice place but crazy busy. It almost feels chaotic. I went for a blowout. The girl that washed my hair was so rough. It was really unpleasant. I'm normally too passive to complain but this time I had to. The blow dry was okay but I was not offered the use of any product in my hair like gel or mousse. I didn't walk out feeling like a rock star like I do from my usual salon.  I'll give it one more try but overall..... nothing special. Read Less

I had an amazing experience the morning of my company photo shoot. I had back to back appointments for both my hair and my makeup. I just moved to the area from Brooklyn and was hoping to find somebody as good as my stylist there. I got lucky with Brianne. She did a great job with my cut and was really fun to talk to. The salon was clean, modern and had a good vibe. One piece of advice is to call to book your appointment. I booked through Yelp and apparently they don't check that. My daughter and I had the most wonderful experiences getting our hair and makeup done for my son's bar mitzvah from the Beauty Bar in Port Chester, New York. Lisa did our hair and Rosa did our makeup. Lisa did very casual yet sophisticated hairstyles for the service which took place in the morning. And then created fun and elegant styles for the celebration which took place that evening. Rosa is a master makeup artist. I am a person that never wears makeup. Rosa has a way applying makeup without making me look too made up. It was natural and beautiful and I never felt better about myself. She did beautiful makeup for my 10 year old daughter as well. So sweet and age appropriate.The best part of getting our hair and makeup done by Lisa and Rosa was having them come to my home to get us ready for our big night. They are such warm and genuinely sweet women. We had the fire roaring and music playing as they worked their magic. Not an ounce of stress!  It was the perfect start to our evening. The space is nicely designed, bright and modern. White screens could use some dusting but otherwise very clean and well kept. The stylists and colorists are great. Blow outs are inexpensive and accessible. The bar is a neat idea. They will also coordinate with the nail salon next door so the customers can have a one stop shop experience. My only complaint is that the front bar staff is unprofessional, sitting, sulking and gossiping on off times making checking-in and checking-out a bummer and dampening an otherwise enjoyable experience. I rarely write a review and when I do, it's food related. The Beauty Bar is an exception. From the moment I called to book the appointment until I checked out, the experience was exceptional! I had known Jamie was good with color but she exceeded my hopes. She worked with my hair, understood my hair type-what had happened, needed & how to fx it. I went here to have my hair done for a wedding this past weekend and I was beyond disappointed. My hair had fallen out and was flat before church even started at 2pm. I was also told it would cost $35 for partial curls. The girl who did my hair used the curling iron in 3 spots on my head...3!!! Not a single curler went into my head. When I went to pay they told me that counts on a full head of curls and charged me $65. Hands down the worst $65 I've ever spent. Oh and they did the same thing to my friend right after I left. The woman at the front desk was so rude to me when I questioned the jump in price. A friend who also attended the wedding does hair and she even said it was a ripoff and I should be getting my money back. $65 for flat hair that looked like I had just driven around with my head out the window. Beauty Bar did my sisters entire bridal party (8 girls), plus the bride, mother of the bride, mother in law, and grandmothers, and I cannot say enough good things about Stacy and her team. They were incredibly efficient and on time, and more importantly, everyone loved their hairstyles. The hairstyles lasted from 10am when they were done for the 12-14 hours afterwards through the whole party; I've been to many many weddings and most girls' hair look flat and pretty terrible by the time just the pictures are done. That's not the case with the team at Beauty Bar. Stacy and her team also made it fun, with champagne and breakfast enjoyed by all the girls throughout the morning; great way to kick off such a special day. I could go on and on, but point is, if you're questioning whether or not to use beauty bar for your big day, or any other purpose, don't! Make your appointment right now; you'll be glad you did! I cannot say enough good things about the Beauty Bar! Since the day they opened their doors, I have been coming here for everything from makeup, color, cuts, blow outs, curls and updos for my wedding day and entire bridal party hair! The professionalism and mannerism off all the staff, especially the owner Stacy, is top notch. Upon getting beautified, you are offered mimosas, cappuccino, water, wine etc. the girls are all so friendly, they really listen to what you want and you leave there feeling glamorous! The decor and ambiance makes you feel like you're in a chic little boutique in Manhattan :) I recommend the Beauty Bar to ALL of my friends and people new to town looking for that place that's more than just getting your hair done. I wasn't going to write this review but after sharing my experience with friends, they encouraged me to share. In Oct' 2014 I came here to have my hair done for my wedding. I arrived early morning the day of my wedding - a Saturday- and the girl who did my hair seemed to be in a rush which is probably typical for any salon on a Saturday. About halfway through doing my hair she dropped the hot curling iron on my chest. She apologized and got me ice right away. By the time I was ready to leave it had turned into a full on burn and was swollen, raw and red. It was about 3 inches long. Obviously I was upset because it looked awful and my dress wouldn't hide it, but it also seriously hurt. I went upfront to pay, and they told me they would take $40 off my total cost. Then the owner of the salon looks at me and says "well at least you look really pretty"  I was too stressed and rushed to stay and argue, but this was really a major inconvenience - a painful inconvenience. My hubby and I left for our honeymoon on Monday right after and the burn bothered me for a majority of the time we were away- I had to visit the hotel medical office for burn cream and band aids and I had to keep changing dressings and band aids every time we went swimming, and I had to keep it completely covered from the sun. Looking back now, the staff and owner could've handled it in a much better way. I paid $100.00 plus dollars for a nasty burn on my wedding day and honeymoon and no sympathy from the owner. :( Would I recommend this place? Definitely not. Read Less

I just had to write a review on this place because it was my first time here and I couldn't of been happier nor could I have had a better experience  despite the above reviews!  Personally sounds to me like some one has an axe to grind especially when there only reviews they have ever given on yelp were negative ones! I have to say I can only agree with the first review of this place which was a great one. This in my opinion was a 5 star place. I live locally and it makes me feel good seeing nice new business pop up in the area. So I walked in to give them a shot. I was greeted happily by the front desk person. Since I didn't have an appointment I didn't know if could even be taken but they worked me in with no problem. I was then given a tour of this beautiful place on my way back to the shampoo area. When I was brought to the blow dry bar ( literally a bar..thought that was so cool!) I was offered cappuccino, tea, coffee or a glass of wine. I gladly excepted a  cappuccino! what better way to treat and pamper yourself with a blow dry and some yummy cappuccino =) I left there looking and feeling great!
