I was shock to see the two recent reviews of A-Plus Nails. I have been coming here for 3+ years and I have to say the owners and staff are the most professional and polite people. They go above and beyond to make you happy. I'm one of the pickest people when it comes to my nail and every time my nails have been perfect. They are the best in Plattsburgh, please don't let a few negative reviews stop you for coming here. You won't be disappointed. I absolutely love this salon. You all do a great job. Read Less

Awful. Very condescending. Lack of talent. I wanted pink to white sns on my nails (any nail tech knows what this is) and he said in a snotty tone he doesn't know what I'm talking about, and prior to this I showed a design that doesn't take a rocket scientist but he said with the same snotty tone "we don't do that here" when I know for fact they are known for designs because my two friends went there for a long time, now they don't and I'm sure I know why now. Disappointing. I... think he was just lazy and didn't feel like putting in the time..and if he really doesn't know what a pink to white ombré SNS is then maybe he should go back to school. Also I'm sure the other guy working there isn't licensed because I am licensed and I know for fact he had almost next to no experience as it took him 20 minutes to put the gel polish on. So not only is the service trash I'm pretty sure their help isn't licensed. So..that being said the experience was garbage and so are my nails. I wanted coffin shape and they're just square, while he was shaping my tips he snagged my finger with the scissors. And then I was charged $50 for gel nails, and an extra $5 for the coffin shape. I am just delighted with my festive, holiday nails! The staff is professional and friendly. The two gentlemen who worked on my fingers and toes (one did my nails, the other my toes) were kind and very excellent technicians. I did have to wait, but the staff told me they were running late right away and worked between me and other customers so that no one was left waiting for long (which is why I stuck with 5 stars!!). I had no idea what I wanted, but they worked with me and I just love the results. Thank you! I've already made a second appointment. I had my nails done here for the first time tonight. My first impression was not good as there was a dead bloody pigeon laying RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOOR. How could you not notice it?! That should have been a sign to walk away. After asking Q about nail types, I then sat there in complete silence during the whole time my nails where being done. I usually like conversing but this gentleman didn’t seem to want to have anything of the sort. I also like my nails short and I got w...hat i wanted but he sat there filing the same spot and my fingers hurt so bad it physically pains me to write this. Not to mention two of my nails are bleeding under the nail. I think they should stop advertising themselves as #1 nail spot because they most definitely are not. They also blamed me for hitting my nails because I had two spots from the top coat that looked like not enough was put on. I had asked them to fix them and the women was very impatient about it. After I had time to look at other nails without feeling bad or judged I had noticed three more spots that are messed up near my cuticle. I know how to gently and slowly put my hands in the UV machine and I did not hit any of my nails. I wasn’t happy that they where blaming me for messing it up. They could use a bigger space as well because i could hardly breath from the fumes in such a small cramped area. The service here is horrible when I first moved to Plattsburgh I thought okay cool I found a nail shop that understood how I wanted my nails the look of them but then as time went on I noticed that the owner he's very rude and everytime I walk through the door he would never speak he would never talk but when the white customers walk through the door is very friendly with them ask them how their day they laughed and in my opinion was idea for how a customer want to be treated... when they were getting their nails done but I also noticed that was me and other black clients he was very different they are rude the wait times are horrible and overall I always felt like I was settling when I walked out of the shop I never felt satisfied with what I wanted thankfully I found another nail shop in time to go to that is 10 times better than this establishment I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt considering that I heard so many negative things from so many people I wanted to be the judgment from my own experience overall they don't appreciate your business and they don't go out of their way to make you feel comfortable or even welcome you sit from anywhere for 45 minutes two two hours waiting to get your nails done not want to do they follow up and they act as though you're doing them a disservice by asking how long is it going to be or what is the wait time me coming from a bigger city I understand what customer service is my nail text I've always been professional and real artist this nail shop has a long way to go and terms of customer service and what it means to treat people with dignity and respect but I will say it is not all of the employees I don't specifically know the girl name but there was a woman in there her husband does the pedicure those guys are very nice and polite but the owner and his wife they really should rethink their branding when it comes to how you deal with minorities and if I'm wrong I'll gladly admit that but I know I could never truly be comfortable somewhere where they didn't make me feel wanted when it came to spending my money Visa mer Read Less

Came in at a busy time, but wish they'd been more honest about the wait.  Pedicure was overall mediocre, although the woman ended up making my toe bleed with careless filing.  I'm from out of town anyway, but wouldnt recommend! Read Less

Had a full set of gels put on one Friday afternoon, and had the best experience. The staff here is quick and professional. I spent an hour in the chair, and that was only because they had every table filled when I walked through the door. It really only took about half an hour for a full set of nails. The color lasted for over 3 weeks, as did the nails. I only had one of the entire set become loose and detach on its own before going in to have the rest of the set taken off. Um my nails are ruined. Like out of commission for the next few months. i got anc in vermont right? This shop said they had it so i went there. I sat for over an hour and a half with my nails in little foils. I kept telling them that they needed to soak and they said "we dont do that here", then they dremmeled and used nail clippers on the surface of my nails until they were paper thin and breaking off. I literally asked the guy to just stop and that I was going to leave and he charged me 5 dollars. WTF Read Less

Decided to try this place as my start of summer mani/pedi was fading!  Walked in at opening time and there were already 2 people there.  There was a non stop flow of customers during my time there.  My pedicure was done very well and my gel manicure was as well.  The young woman who did my mani/pedi was friendly and cheerful throughout!  If you're in the Plattsburgh area APlus nails, next to Big Lots, is your place! My friend and I went to get pedicures and had a great experience. They do not make appointments for nails, it is first come, first serve. The wait was about 30 minutes, but well worth it. The gentleman who did my pedicure took his time and was very thorough. The pedicure was done in a great massage chair. I received an amazing 10+minute foot/leg massage and he did a great job with the paint job. They did not rush through our pedicures just because there was a line and they did a great job!
