They clearly hire uncertified people that don’t know what they’re doing. I went in for a lip wax. they not only were unsanitary, they used the wrong temperature wax, and ripped the skin off my face. I went here for the first and last time about a week ago for a gel manicure, and it's already chipping! I've never had that happen with a gel manicure before. I always get 2-3 weeks out of each one. Mias is a cute & chic little salon located in penfield. Everyone that works there is personable and wonderful. They will accommodate for all of your needs from hair, nails and waxing. You will most likely need an appointment but it is so worth it and they will do quick fixes when you need it. I highly recommend checking this place out if you want to pamper yourself. I have been coming here for 15 years, and never had a complaint even if my nails were done by an inexperienced nail tech, but this particular time I got a tech whose English wasn't that great and I decided to try the dip powder manicure, I asked if it was like acrylic and she said no, but in fact it was, and they refused to correct the problem unless I pay another fee to have them done over, I will no longer be going there, I hope it was worth losing a customer!!!! I have been a client of Mia's for over 10 years for nails and also for hair for two years. Mia is the owner and not only provide outstanding service but assures that everyone in her salon does also. She is always very accommodating for appointment and even "quick fixes' - and so is Fatma (hair stylist)- even working on their days off . Gross. Gross. I can't believe I actually had the service done there. I should have left the moment I realized I was disgusted by the room, towels, person handling my service....Parking isn't great. The signs to the "salon" are not well marked. I'm disappointed in myself for not leaving right away.This experience has turned me off from using a Groupon for a personal experience again.Ick.
