I drove a good half hour to come here with my sister.  Our father had been in a bad accident and we just wanted a relaxing nail day together.  We were so excited for our appointment but boy did we pick the wrong place.  The owner Stella is extremely rude to new customers! She was so busy with her existing customer she made me feel as if I was annoying her to ask her anything.  I guess because I was a Groupon customer she wasn't interest.  If I did not agree with her she had a really mad attitude.  She told me over the phone my sister and myself would receive a complimentary box well at checkout it was just a buffer and file and she kept the box but omg when she thought I took the box when it was right In front of her!   The service my the nail tech Alicea provided was excellent and the salon is very clean but the atmosphere in salon is very negative.  The owners Stella lacks customer service skills and is extremely opinionated!  She even told me how to back out my car when I was leaving! As if I dint know how to drive!  She never thanked us for being first time customers, gave us business card, and hoped to see us again. Customer service 101! If I could give Spa La Bella 10 stars, I would!  Here's my experience... I bought a Spa La Bella spray tan session on Groupon.  First time I've ever used Groupon, and I sort of expected lesser service because of the reduced price.  It was also my first spray tan experience.  I was soooo wrong.  I called, and they returned my call immediately and sent a follow up text.  No problem with Groupon, they couldn't have been nicer.  The owner, Stella, is the nicest person I've ever met.  She made me feel very comfortable, the salon is lovely, and if I use the "n" word (NICE) many more times in this review, please excuse the redundancy but it was that nice an experience.  I teach summer school in Commack, but live way the hell in Locust Valley, and my day started at 4:30 am.  I drove all the way home and with fifteen minutes had messed up my tan!  Really bad.  I called the Salon and OMG!  Stella told me hop in the shower, wash everything off and she would re-do me if I came back at 6:30 PM.  Crazy nice!!!!!  I asked if I could come back the next day (it was raining and I just could not bear the thought of driving in the dark and rain.  OMG again... They totally accommodated me.  Stella would not let me pay, nor would she let me tip.  I bought a spray tan package, and I was happy to give the salon my money!  Stella, who did my tan beautifully (no Oompa Loompa orange), is the owner/operator.  I'm a former Manhattanite and have had treatments  at the finest salons and spas in NYC, frequented all the places where you'll find some celebrity in a chair or hear there's one in the "private room."  I've also tried hole-in-the-wall places that friends may share... hair salons in Astoria, barbershops in Williamsburg.  Here's the truth:  They pale in comparison to the Spa La Bella experience, which was the best I've ever had in a salon/spa/medi-spa. Horrible experience. Went for a full leg wax and I'm not sure if they hire licensed Esthetician or people who wax for fun because my experience was not fun. To start off they asked me to pay before hand, should have known then. My waxer, whom was very nice until the end, was unfortunately not trained properly. Spreading the wax in little sections and globbing the wax on. I tried to explain to the Manager that she was hurting me while applying the wax. Obviously what I said went over her head because she left the room saying "I will be back" & never returned. I kept trying to tell the wax technician that she should change her wax container because she was scrapping wax from the bottom and that's why it was not spreading evenly. She tried a new wax and got it stuck to my skin which resulted in ME peeling it off. Then I believe the owner came in. I asked her to change the wax container and she responds "you know this is going to take 15 minutes to heat up". Obviously, but you should have another wax on hand. I eventually had to have my mother who is a license Esthetician call and tell the manager&owner I wanted a new waxer because they did not understand me the first 2 times. The waxer who then turns to me goes "you need to be more patient". After that I asked her nicely to stop waxing me. Finally, I got a new wax technician. Meanwhile, I was 3/4 done and an hour and 15 minutes in. She finished my entire back legs in 15 minutes and even touched up the front where there were many sections missed. When I finished the owner greets me with a "Hi" as I'm exiting. Did not ask me if I was okay, DID NOT APOLOGIZE (hospitality 101) or offer a refund.Heard the attitude the manager gave my mother and how rude the owner was in the room over. Just very rude management and poor customer service. Save yourself the sanity & money and go to a more reliable place. Read Less

I had such a great morning being pampered at La Bella! It was so nice to be treated like a valued client, even though it was my first time there. Professional but relaxed salon. After many false starts elsewhere, I tried Spa La Bella for nail services. Owner Stella is welcoming, as is her assistant Ava. Requests for appointments are accommodated as best as possible and confirmed by text. Top-notch products are used; my nails have never looked better. All the nail technicians are well-trained, meticulous, and comforting. This is the cleanest, most sanitary Nail Salon & Spa that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.  The Nail technicians and Esthetican at the MedSpa upstairs do wonderful work. I have never had an issue with the phones. You will always get a call back if they happen to miss you. If you call when closed, they promptly call back during business hours. This review is not about the service received, which, from what I have seen and heard is exemplary. This review is about my ability to get in touch with this place of business to make an appointment! I have been trying for three days at 631-239-1980. I have a groupon because I would like to find a new salon, but these people do not answer their phone. I noticed that they do sometimes answer their reviews so I am hoping that they will see this and open their phone lines or at least provide an email address so a potential customer can request an appointment. If the number I have listed here is incorrect, I hope that the owner(s) will see this and correct it. I would imagine they are missing out on new customers who are unable to reach them. Great salon and spa! I found this place through the esthetician, who is AMAZING and knows her products very well...and have since made this my home for my nails and toes as well. This place is affordable and comfortable and clean, the nail techs are so sweet and the owner is awesome! I recently moved here from California where all the ladies in my family work in salons so I am VERY picky and VERY knowledgeable with this industry so take my word for it, this place rocks! Came with a Groupon for gel mani and pedi. The owner charged me for taking off my gel (which salons only usually charge if you do not get gel again) as well as a charge for my own box with a nail file and buffer. I was never asked if I wanted my own and when I said I did not want one she told me I could take the nail file and buffer home (which I did not need) and she kept the box. Came here a few weeks ago. Drove 35 minutes from my home town and cannot believe this salon has received so many good reviews. Even though it IS very clean, Prices are unbelievable, $16 for threading I believe? My eyebrow lady charges $7 and she is unbelievably good at what she does. On top of that this place was freezing, even the nail technicians were complaining they are cold, I woke up with a sore throat the next day. Plus, It was completely empty, I felt super uncomfortable.The owner spoke to me like a criminal and made me tip the woman that did my nails $10, does she pay her workers????I will never forget this experience, if you want to feel cozy and at home DO NOT go here. I went in to get my nails done, sort of on a whim (it's something I don't do very often), and I'm glad I did. This place was clean, well kept, and most importantly very sanitary, which is a huge plus in my book because the dangers of infections spreading through nail salons are very real. They don't share nail files among customers, and your own personal file gets kept in its own box until the next time you visit, or if you're from out of town (or feel that you won't be back), you have the option to take it with you. Not to mention, the owner is a sweetheart and seems to know the clientele very well. She does her best to make you comfortable and make sure you get what you want. I am so happy to have found a clean and beautiful place for my nails and waxing.  I decided to try their new spray tan theatre.  I have always been nervous to get that orange color that I've heard so many people complain about from other places.  Stella, the owner, explained that infinity sun is a national company as seen on tv in sunset tan and used by the Kardashians.  My color turned out awesome!! I have to say the color was so natural...this amazing brown/bronze tone. I was happy to know it is made with all natural ingredients and organic. Not to mention that it lasted 10 days and fades completely natural. I bought a package of 4 and they gave me a huge discount! I looked amazing for the Marine Corps Ball...pictures came out amazing!! This boutique Spa opened near me not long ago and my cousin and I went there a couple of weeks ago for a manicure and pedicure, which were great.  Very present owner, extremely clean facility with quality products and technicians. Nice decor, friendly staff.  My cousin also got a wax and said it was very good.  I can't wait to try the eyebrow threading.  I don't get my nails done that often, but when I do I will go back.  There is parking in the rear, and though it is tight you can always use the empty handy cap spot to turn around or back into to help you out.
