My 15 year old had a special event to go to this past Sunday evening and she was looking forward to having her hair and make up done to look her best. I think she's beautiful without all that but my opinion does not count here. We had an appointment all set up with a different place and they had to cancel 2 hours before the appointment. She was not happy, to her it was a devastating moment and her life was doomed. I frantically called a bunch of places and mind you I amnot a hair and make up type of mom. I know zero about anything other than some gloss and maybe some mascara. My hair is always in a pony tail. I'm praying at this point that we find something. When I called Glass Beauty Bar it was like heaven intervened and I spoke to an angel named Ramona. She had one appointment left and it was only for hair, she tried to call in her make up artist but she had the flu and then she tried 2 others. She really went out of her way for my broken hearted daughter. She told us that she was not a make up artist but she would try. Trust me she is a make up artist. We arrived at 230 and she truly is an angel and her hairstylist Trish was also a beautiful person. My daughter hasn't had the easiest time with other girls her age, she had gone through middle school without a single friend and being called fat and teased was part of her everyday life to the point where she suffered extreme anxiety and needed to be hospitalized. She survived all that and is now a stronger person from it and is one of the kindest kids I know. Ok ... back to the angels ... they treated her like a princess, they saw her physical beauty which she will never acknowledge and they also saw her inner beauty and they did a beautiful beautiful job. While we were there a customer came in and requested a shampoo because she had no hot water in her house , they graciously took her in and they didn't even charge her. I was so taken back by their kindness and generosity. My daughter loved the result and it was so nice to see her genuinely smile when she looked at herself in the mirror. I couldn't thank these women enough. I also thought because it was a last minute thing that I would have to pay a small fortune. I could not believe the price, it was way under what it should have been and I insisted on paying more and she would not let me. I'm not wealthy by any means in terms of dollars. Im wealthy because I have 2 healthy children who love me and the fact that I get to meet beautiful people like the ones I met at Glass Beauty Bar. It's nice to know that there are some kind people out there in our community and I will tell anyone and everyone to use them. The salon is also very clean and I love the decor. I will be returning and maybe I will even try the make up. My daughter will be back for a haircut next month with Trish. We can't wait!

I've walked past this place a couple times, and yesterday I recalled seeing a $20 blow dry special, so I gave them a call, confirmed the $20 special on Mondays and Tuesdays, and Tricia was nice enough to squeeze me in 15 minutes before closing. I was, as usual, late, but she sat me down anyway and got me back out the door in ten minutes! I'm super pleased with the results, speed and price are priorities for me, and everyone was super nice even though I walked into my appointment 5 minutes before closing time. I will definitely be back!

I came here the night of my birthday for a haircut and blowout. I had made the appointment on the booking site for my sister (who was getting a blowout) and myself a few weeks prior. When we arrived, they had someone wash my hair and then I was seated with the woman who was to cut my hair. I showed several pictures of what I wanted which was long layers in the back with some shorter angles in the front. After she was cutting my hair for about 15 minutes, the owner came over and told me I had only made an appointment for a blow out which is only allotted 30 minutes. So she tells the woman cutting my hair to move on to the next appointment because she had already arrived. I then showed my email confirmation showing that I had in fact made an appointment for a hair cut and blow out (which is allotted 45 minutes). This was all very uncomfortable for me, but I wasn't quite sure how to react. My hair was far from finished, and it seemed that I was about to be left there with my hair half done. The woman cutting my hair had to start rushing to finish. She said she was sorry but she had to listen to the owner. The owner then came over to say they must have switched my appointment with my sister, but still seemed to make it seem like it was by fault. By the time she finished, I had only had about 35 minutes spent on both my haircut and blowout. Needless the say, the finished product wasn't very impressive. She took of more than five inches when I asked for a maximum of two inches off and I later found out that the layers in the back are very uneven. I'm going to have to get another haircut to fix it. Overall, this was just a very unpleasant experience. As a customer, I have never been made to feel so undervalued. I definitely won't be returning to this salon.

Love this place! I don't trust anyone with my hair. My hair is too precious to me to let someone hack it all off. For years I couldn't find a place where I left happy. My aunt recommended Jen to me and I LOVE her. I live in Woodhaven, Queens and I travel all the way out to Bellmore, Long Island for her and it's soooo worth it. I was 20 years old and had never had any kind of color in my hair. I wanted a change but was sooo nervous. Jen made me feel super comfortable with trying out the balayage and I was in love! She's the best and all of the staff here is great! I am now 21 and on my way to being a blonde and loving the process with Jen!!

I have been going to The Hair Bar since it opened. Lisa & Dana are amazing owners and their staff is incredible. I had my kids' Bnai Mitzvah this weekend and my daughter and I had to get our hair & makeup done for a trial, pictures, ceremony, and party. They even opened up early for us yesterday. The girls did a wonderful job on our hair and makeup. We were so pleased. I highly recommend The Hair Bar & Makeup Lounge. You will not be disappointed.

First time here & really impressed. Gabby did my blow out, really professional but calm energy to be around. My hair doesn't give much body & whatever she did made my hair look amazinggggg. Wash & blow out took about 20 minutes, took me right away. Place is clean, bright and pretty trendy.I will say they get an extra star cuz of the level of professionalism with the client to the left of me. Idk where people get off thinking they can talk to anyone .. let alone someone doing you a service with such disrespect. However her stylist kept 100% professional & tried to cater to her requests as much as possible. Will def go back!

I really wanted to leave here writing an amazing review because they have so many great reviews. I got a blow out with Raven. The blow out I got was decent but she had no personality. Not only did she barely say 1 word, at the end of my service she told me not to touch my hair with dry hands because my hair will frizz? I've never herd that in my life. I guess I should touch my hair with damp wet hands? It was not the best experience. I've been to many salons where the girls are sweet, have great personality, and make a first time customer feel good. Maybe one of the other stylists would have been a better fit but either way I will probably not be back.

I used to live in Brooklyn and would go to Dreamdry in Manhattan for blowouts and makeup. I recently moved to LI and was looking for a new spot for blowouts. I've been to Drybar Roslyn Heights a couple of times but I'm not always happy with the outcome. I decided to try this spot and wow am I happy I did. Marissa did a great job with my makeup and my hair. This is the closest thing I've seen to a city- like blowout bar experience on LI. And just $75 for a blowout and makeup. It took under 90 minutes also. Amazing.

I know this place has been opened for a few months now and I've been wondering why no one has written a review yet?? But I'll happily be the first! I live around the area and I've passed by Glass Beauty Salon multiple times. I noticed that they have a Monday/Tuesday special featuring $20 blowouts, so I figured why not go and try it out. I easily booked an appointment online, no deposit required. Upon arrival I was immediately seated to the sink to get my hair washed and asked if I'd like a beverage. After my wash, Amanda asked what type of blow out I'd like. I told her I didn't care, as long as my hair had volume (it tends to get very flat due my fine hairs). Amanda was able to give my hair lots of body and bounce! Btwn washing and blow drying, everything only took 30 min. I'm very satisfied w how my hair came out and I can't wait to come back for another blow out. P.S - I wish I took a picture of how cute this place looked inside. Very clean too!

They were able to accommodate me for an appointment less than 2 hours from my call.Tiffeny (not sure how to spell it, but her name is NOT Tiffany) did a great job with my blowout, and was very professional and friendly.I got shoulder length hair so I paid $16 for wash n dry, which is a very competitive price for this service, and absolutely worth it.The only reason for the 4 star review was a bit of a wait when I arrived, but it was simply because they were really busy and there wasn't a shampoo sink available for a while. Wish they had more because it's a bit of a bottle neck with only 2.I highly recommend this place, and will certainly go back if I'm ever in the area and need/want my hair done.

Love this place! I don't trust anyone with my hair. My hair is too precious to me to let someone hack it all off. For years I couldn't find a place where I left happy. Staff was extremely friendly.. and I saw many women leaving with great hair.... there were some good stylists there. My lady (Margaret) wasn't very good ,at all.... not even a little bit,unfortunately! She was as sweet as pie, but does not know how to style or blow dry hair. My hair is kinky frizzy from the flat blush she used during my "blow out" and the curls are soooo ridiculously just wrong!!!!! Just wrong !!!! Yuck :(

The owner is nasty and rude to there workers. I was charged many times $15 and then they tell me $20 at check out. Honesty comes a long way. And they are far from that. I know many people who are charged the right amount. But i guess to me... They are racist. I will go back to my other lady since i have NEVER HAD A PROBLEM! Too bad the girls there are all nice n good. And i feel bad that they have to even deal with the owner. Good luck girls! They didnt just lose one customer.. But now two since my sister was also going there. Place is a joke.

I started going there for the $15 blow out. I was paying $40 at a place on Merrick Rd, so I wanted to give it a try. The $15 blow outs are only certain stylists, so you have to ask for a $15 blow out, or else it will be $20.That being said, I now get my color done there and had my first haircut. What would have cost me $120 on Merrick Road and was $80 there, and I've been getting compliments all day. A great find.My only complaint is that there is a high turnover of stylists, I'm on my 4th.

I went here a few times to get a blowout because for $15 you cant beat it when you don't feel like doing your own hair. At first I wasn't a fan considering I always left having to fix my hair. Everyone I went to wasn't very friendly and never did a great job. One day I decided to give it another try and got DEANNA as my hair stylist, I was so happy with my hair that I got my mom, my cousin, and friends to start going there and to use Deanna! She really listens to what you want, is so friendly, and does a great job! I've continued to go ever since and will forever go to Deanna. If you want a nice blow out I would definitely recommend her! (:

How can you beat a $15 blowout? Normally, I would say "you get what you pay for" but this is a steal in a hidden gem. I've gotten blowouts several times and no matter who does it, it always comes out fabulous. They usually use the round brushes to do big curls for bouncy volume but you can request it to be blown straight as well! The blowout lasts a few days as well if you don't have oily hair and last without washing it every day! The best part is that they are so accommodating and can usually fit you in whenever needed. They have late hours just about every night! I get so many compliments any time I get my hair done here Ill never go anywhere else for a blowout.

I came here the night of my birthday for a haircut and blowout. I had made the appointment on the booking site for my sister (who was getting a blowout) and myself a few weeks prior. When we arrived, they had someone wash my hair and then I was seated with the woman who was to cut my hair. I showed several pictures of what I wanted which was long layers in the back with some shorter angles in the front. After she was cutting my hair for about 15 minutes, the owner came over and told me I had only made an appointment for a blow out which is only allotted 30 minutes. So she tells the woman cutting my hair to move on to the next appointment because she had already arrived. I then showed my email confirmation showing that I had in fact made an appointment for a hair cut and blow out (which is allotted 45 minutes). This was all very uncomfortable for me, but I wasn't quite sure how to react. My hair was far from finished, and it seemed that I was about to be left there with my hair half done. The woman cutting my hair had to start rushing to finish. She said she was sorry but she had to listen to the owner. The owner then came over to say they must have switched my appointment with my sister, but still seemed to make it seem like it was by fault. By the time she finished, I had only had about 35 minutes spent on both my haircut and blowout. Needless the say, the finished product wasn't very impressive. She took of more than five inches when I asked for a maximum of two inches off and I later found out that the layers in the back are very uneven. I'm going to have to get another haircut to fix it. Overall, this was just a very unpleasant experience. As a customer, I have never been made to feel so undervalued. I definitely won't be returning to this salon.

Love this place! I don't trust anyone with my hair. My hair is too precious to me to let someone hack it all off. For years I couldn't find a place where I left happy. My aunt recommended Jen to me and I LOVE her. I live in Woodhaven, Queens and I travel all the way out to Bellmore, Long Island for her and it's soooo worth it. I was 20 years old and had never had any kind of color in my hair. I wanted a change but was sooo nervous. Jen made me feel super comfortable with trying out the balayage and I was in love! She's the best and all of the staff here is great! I am now 21 and on my way to being a blonde and loving the process with Jen!!

I have been going to The Hair Bar since it opened. Lisa & Dana are amazing owners and their staff is incredible. I had my kids' Bnai Mitzvah this weekend and my daughter and I had to get our hair & makeup done for a trial, pictures, ceremony, and party. They even opened up early for us yesterday. The girls did a wonderful job on our hair and makeup. We were so pleased. I highly recommend The Hair Bar & Makeup Lounge. You will not be disappointed.

First time here & really impressed. Gabby did my blow out, really professional but calm energy to be around. My hair doesn't give much body & whatever she did made my hair look amazinggggg. Wash & blow out took about 20 minutes, took me right away. Place is clean, bright and pretty trendy.I will say they get an extra star cuz of the level of professionalism with the client to the left of me. Idk where people get off thinking they can talk to anyone .. let alone someone doing you a service with such disrespect. However her stylist kept 100% professional & tried to cater to her requests as much as possible. Will def go back!

I really wanted to leave here writing an amazing review because they have so many great reviews. I got a blow out with Raven. The blow out I got was decent but she had no personality. Not only did she barely say 1 word, at the end of my service she told me not to touch my hair with dry hands because my hair will frizz? I've never herd that in my life. I guess I should touch my hair with damp wet hands? It was not the best experience. I've been to many salons where the girls are sweet, have great personality, and make a first time customer feel good. Maybe one of the other stylists would have been a better fit but either way I will probably not be back.

I used to live in Brooklyn and would go to Dreamdry in Manhattan for blowouts and makeup. I recently moved to LI and was looking for a new spot for blowouts. I've been to Drybar Roslyn Heights a couple of times but I'm not always happy with the outcome. I decided to try this spot and wow am I happy I did. Marissa did a great job with my makeup and my hair. This is the closest thing I've seen to a city- like blowout bar experience on LI. And just $75 for a blowout and makeup. It took under 90 minutes also. Amazing.

I know this place has been opened for a few months now and I've been wondering why no one has written a review yet?? But I'll happily be the first! I live around the area and I've passed by Glass Beauty Salon multiple times. I noticed that they have a Monday/Tuesday special featuring $20 blowouts, so I figured why not go and try it out. I easily booked an appointment online, no deposit required. Upon arrival I was immediately seated to the sink to get my hair washed and asked if I'd like a beverage. After my wash, Amanda asked what type of blow out I'd like. I told her I didn't care, as long as my hair had volume (it tends to get very flat due my fine hairs). Amanda was able to give my hair lots of body and bounce! Btwn washing and blow drying, everything only took 30 min. I'm very satisfied w how my hair came out and I can't wait to come back for another blow out. P.S - I wish I took a picture of how cute this place looked inside. Very clean too!

They were able to accommodate me for an appointment less than 2 hours from my call.Tiffeny (not sure how to spell it, but her name is NOT Tiffany) did a great job with my blowout, and was very professional and friendly.I got shoulder length hair so I paid $16 for wash n dry, which is a very competitive price for this service, and absolutely worth it.The only reason for the 4 star review was a bit of a wait when I arrived, but it was simply because they were really busy and there wasn't a shampoo sink available for a while. Wish they had more because it's a bit of a bottle neck with only 2.I highly recommend this place, and will certainly go back if I'm ever in the area and need/want my hair done.

Love this place! I don't trust anyone with my hair. My hair is too precious to me to let someone hack it all off. For years I couldn't find a place where I left happy. My aunt recommended Jen to me and I LOVE her. I live in Woodhaven, Queens and I travel all the way out to Bellmore, Long Island for her and it's soooo worth it. I am 20 and up until about 6 months ago, I have never had color in my hair. I wanted a change but was sooo nervous. Jen made me feel super comfortable with trying out the balayage and I'm in love! Staff was extremely friendly.. and I saw many women leaving with great hair.... there were some good stylists there. My lady (Margaret) wasn't very good ,at all.... not even a little bit,unfortunately! She was as sweet as pie, but does not know how to style or blow dry hair. My hair is kinky frizzy from the flat blush she used during my "blow out" and the curls are soooo ridiculously just wrong!!!!! Just wrong !!!! Yuck :(

The owner is nasty and rude to there workers. I was charged many times $15 and then they tell me $20 at check out. Honesty comes a long way. And they are far from that. I know many people who are charged the right amount. But i guess to me... They are racist. I will go back to my other lady since i have NEVER HAD A PROBLEM! Too bad the girls there are all nice n good. And i feel bad that they have to even deal with the owner. Good luck girls! They didnt just lose one customer.. But now two since my sister was also going there. Place is a joke.

I started going there for the $15 blow out. I was paying $40 at a place on Merrick Rd, so I wanted to give it a try. The $15 blow outs are only certain stylists, so you have to ask for a $15 blow out, or else it will be $20.That being said, I now get my color done there and had my first haircut. What would have cost me $120 on Merrick Road and was $80 there, and I've been getting compliments all day. A great find.My only complaint is that there is a high turnover of stylists, I'm on my 4th.

I went here a few times to get a blowout because for $15 you cant beat it when you don't feel like doing your own hair. At first I wasn't a fan considering I always left having to fix my hair. Everyone I went to wasn't very friendly and never did a great job. One day I decided to give it another try and got DEANNA as my hair stylist, I was so happy with my hair that I got my mom, my cousin, and friends to start going there and to use Deanna! She really listens to what you want, is so friendly, and does a great job! I've continued to go ever since and will forever go to Deanna. If you want a nice blow out I would definitely recommend her! (:

How can you beat a $15 blowout? Normally, I would say "you get what you pay for" but this is a steal in a hidden gem. I've gotten blowouts several times and no matter who does it, it always comes out fabulous. They usually use the round brushes to do big curls for bouncy volume but you can request it to be blown straight as well! The blowout lasts a few days as well if you don't have oily hair and last without washing it every day! The best part is that they are so accommodating and can usually fit you in whenever needed. They have late hours just about every night! I get so many compliments any time I get my hair done here Ill never go anywhere else for a blowout.

This, to me, is hands down, THE BEST hair salon this side of the Mississippi! Most reasonable prices in town, talented stylists, fantastic boutique and co-owners that make me feel like Norm from 'Cheers' each time I enter the door. They fit me in at the very last moment and treat me like a cherished friend. I highly recommend the Hair Bar and Makeup Lounge.
