I got acrylic tips on 6/29 and Two of my nails broke around the 4th of July. The polish they use is dry and tacky. The top coat is awful. It leaves air bubbles and the shine goes away after a day or two. I was left with a ton of buildup from the acrylic and glue under my nail, therefore, always causing filth to get stuck underneath. I'm from the Midwest so I found the prices more than reasonable. I landed here because I was in town and they were the only ones that didn't make me get an appointment. The service was good enough, my nails look awesome.  My criticism is the massage chair remote being nailed to a wooden panel behind the chair. I would have liked to control my massage. My boots malfunctioned and the nail tech actually helped me remove my faulty boot so that was a nice touch.  I'd go there again. But not if I had a major interest in the massage chair. Read Less

Ok. Never Judge a book by its cover. I have passed this nail salon 10000 times over the past 3 years and never thought twice about going on. The nail salon I usually go to is appealing big bright and beautiful and very clean, and then you have Diva nails the complete opposite but clean. So a friend ask me to go with her to this salon to get our nails done and I literally looked down on her like oh no boo I would never go there, so I didn't. Two weeks later I notice her gel manicure looks like she just got it done from when she went before and mine looked a hot mess from when I went to my LI nail salon. She said oh yes girl they are good and it last. I still said yeah whatever I would never go there.Six months later in dying need of a gel manicure and I won't make it to Long Island in time to go to my salon so I gave in and went here, yes, here as in Diva Nails. I held my head down the whole time and felt like omg I can't believe I'm doing this to myself. Mr Gin ( Worlds best manicurist ) who did my nails was absolutely amazing, and I was very pleased. I began to notice 2 weeks later my nails still look fresh. I'm like how can this be, my nails was also very healthy and strong and definitely growing. I knew I needed a new Gel manicure but from a far no one else could tell. I was impressed. Moving right a long I decided to come back again because he is the best this is an art to him and I would never let anyone else do my nails Ok, so I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure , now I'm really saying WTH this is too much for me, they didn't line the sink with plastic I nearly fell off my seat Ok, too late to back down. I saw the lady washing it real good. I'm saying to myself this time ( J, you went too far you should of stuck with just the gel manicure) and too my surprise 40 mins later this lady is still doing my feet I'm like wth it felt like a pedicure I would normally pay $70 at my Long Island Nail Salon. Unfortunately for Diva, a crazy storm hit just as I was leaving, so I have nothing else to do but write a review as I take shelter in my car. Let me just state the facts on my experience. Pros:They have an ATM inside with a $1.25 fee They allow you to put tips on your cardThey have a small selection of OPI purchased from the local Duane Reade, and, as someone else mentioned, crusty EssieSalon is really spacious (I was immediately attended to at 4pm on a Monday after walking in)The pedicure bath I was led to when I said I just wanted a manicure 4 times looked pretty clean (so much so that I decided to just go for it) My nail tech was pleasantShe put in work to beautify my beat up runner's feet and she did listen when I spoke up about how aggressively she was rubbingThey use a battery operated file on your feet, which seemed to work wellCons They really push you to use their ATM, so it doesn't matter that they say they accept tips on your cardRemoval of gel is done by keeping your hands in bowl of acetone for 30 min. The polish dries up immediately and then they scrape it off. I hate gel, but always get it for vacas...my nails have never looked worse after a gel removal. My nails felt (and still feel) like sandpaperI was shown a menu of 3 pedicures for $25, $25, and $40. I was really hoping to get a cheaper pedi given the location. I asked if this was it and she said yes, 3 choices. As I was drying I saw a huge list of pedicures starting at 14.99 and going up to $40. Lady totally played me. They use a battery operated file on your nail beds which leaves terrible scrapes. Filing was done unevenly and left jagged corners. When I asked to fix them myself she insisted on doing it but went in hard and the polish started flaking off. Not super detail oriented - have some uneven spots for polish and lots of fibers from cotton dried in the polish. The scrapes from the gel removal are visible through the polish. She repeatedly said, "doesn't it look much better now?"  I was crying inside as I've never seen my nails so chewed up. I'd prefer to take my polish to get a $6 mani at the salon on Dekalb btwn Throop and Marcus Garvey. I def am feeling bitter about being upsold on a weird jelly spa pedi that I didn't want, but truthfully I will try my luck at each and every cheap nail salon in this neighborhood before I go back there again. While their prices are cheap, and they will scrub your feet like they are trying to remove demons from them,  the salon is far from DIVA and even farther away from a SPAFrom the outside the place looks pretty awesome, and even so from the manicure stations at the front of the salon. But once you make your way to the the nail polish selection, you will quickly see a a skimpy selection, some cheapish polishes, and some crusty looking essie polishes.  From the polish rack you will be told to sit in the pedicure chair.  This chair was so worn out you could see the under fibers that the fabric was attached to, but that didnt make me run away, So I get into the chair and I am offered the green tea treatment (the best part). It was 22 dollars, which seemed like some made up price but no big deal. As Im sitting in the chair and waiting for the "nail tech" to come over I decided to turn on the back massager feature of the chair. LORD.  Lets start with the fact that the remote control is nailed to some wooden ledge  (I assume its for your belongings.) When I turned on the chair, the machinery inside started to  grind and make loud noises, clearly it was broken. So I turned it off and just enjoyed my Green Tea treatment.  As Im sitting there I noticed these mats all over the floor next to each pedicure chair that looked like they were covered in mold. My eyes went from the mats to the plastic flower decals and dirty walls.  So I get my "nail tech" that just grabs my feet without a word besides "This color?" and starts my feet. Overall it was fine,  again they will exorcise any foot demons you have with a pumice stone, brush, wrap them in plastic, slap two discolored  towels that are hotter than satans upper lip around each raw foot and steam the fuck out of your feet. After the dirty looking towels are taken off, the "nail tech" starts stabbing you with some tools from her cart, oh and the cart is covered with rust/ and paint like they had tried to cover it. When she finally starts painting my nails I'm relieved that its nearly done and i'm praying that she pulled the tools out of the sanitizing machine before placing them in her cart. So once Im done, I put my shoes on and head home, This is where I decided to write a review, the "nail tech" upon closer inspection had missed the corners of my nails with paint, so I had gaps of polish leaving visible bare nail on a couple of my toes. Pros: If you're looking for a cheap mani/pedi cool go here just triple check your nails before you get out of the chair thorough scrubbing of feet Green Tea Treatment Cons: DIRTY. Unsanitary looking tools. They just put flip flops in a bin and reuse them without changing them out, Yeah you just got your feet scrubbed, but the lady next to me had some fungus so bring your own flips. No massage of legs or feet really. Under experienced nail techs : Uneven nail color I could have done the job myself, stabbed me a few times not even a "sorry." or "you okay?" So if you want CHEAP,  regular polish is fine, but you have to make sure they paint it all the way on the nail and don't try to rush what you're paying for. Oh and the plants died along time ago along with the pedicure chairs and cleanliness. Those pictures are inaccurate. Read Less

I have been going to Divas for about 8 years, maybe more. I started going at around the age of 14 & I'm 23 and still come to the salon. They have the best customer service. Mr. Gin (the owner) & Nicki his daughter are the sweetest people ever & so are the ladies that does the pedicure's. The salon is very clean & neat, unlike most nail salons located in Brooklyn. You won't spot a nail clipping, dust, or dirt around. The prices are great. For a spa pedicure it's $15 and you are literally getting spa treatment. You are getting your feet done for at least 45 minutes. I get tips & they are $21. I live in Easton, PA & travel to Mr. Gin every 2 weeks to get my nails & feet done. That's how great the salon is. I have yet to experience any other place where they do such a good pedicure. I always leave with my feet feeling like silk & tips are always on point. What I love about Mr. Gin & Nicki is that they take pride in what they do. So if you come at a certain time & they have other customers & won't be able to do your nails they will ask you to come back tomorrow. & I like that because I don't want to be rushed & be unsatisfied. They take they time doing nails & I want the full experience. They are more about giving good service & doing a good job then about making money. Read Less

Yelpers,This Nail salon is the last place I would go to get a mani/pedi. The customer service was terrible. They charge way too much ($23 for pedi, $35 for mani&pedi) Their salon was not clean, the towels used on my feet looked like dirty rags, the polish she used was noticeably old and they didn't massage my legs or feet at all.The two stars are for the woman that was working on my aunt's nails, she was very personable and nice. The woman that was working on my nails was very rude and gave me an attitude when I asked for rounded tips rather than squared. I was very disappointed because after reading all the other yelp reviews I was under the impression that I would like this place. I will not be going back. Read Less

3.5 Stars. Went in yesterday afternoon for my first NYC mani/pedi. For $26 including tip, I was pleased, but my experience could have been a little better.. Here's the scoop:  Pedi was pretty great. She really scrubbed my feet to a smooth pulp & they haven't felt so moisturized in awhile. I also liked how she wrapped my feet in saran wrap w. hot towels.. only wish it lasted more than a minute and a half.   I wasn't crazy about the polish selections either.. there were no OPI or Essie polishes.. I opted for the Elizabeth Arden brand beacause all the others looked pretty cheap; we will see if it's any good in a few days I guess!   One thing I really didn't like is the lotion she used during my mani. Every nail salon I've been to uses some sort of fragrant lotion that smells delicious all day long. But, sadly Diva used Aloe Vera Lotion which I didn't like the smell of at all.    Overall, I had a pretty good experience, but I will probably try else next time. Back home in MA, a mani/pedi would cost minimum $36-40 w. tip.. So I'm totally down for a cheap mani/pedi even if it lacks some of the frills. Read Less

Read Less

If you don't come early you will have to wait at least an hour to get a pedicure. Today was my first day here and I loved it! The pedicures are $15, and its well worth the price. I loved my pedicure. I got a French gel manicure as well and it was $29. Mr Jin (the owner) did a fabulous job on my nails. The place was very clean but their nail polish selection is not very spectacular, I suggest you bring your own nail polish. Everyone was very friendly and I will definitely go back. Read Less

Read Less

This place is tops! A pedicure feels like a full body spa treatment at this place. Arrive early or face a lengthy wait but if you have time to spare, the wait is worth it.
