I've been here about 5 times to get a manicure, just regular maintenance for a guy, but it's a hit or miss. Sharon has done very well for me but I don't get her all the time. When others does it, it's half-fast and they do a crappy job. I get very disheartened and it makes it feel like a waste of time and money. I don't usually write reviews but when I do, it's negative. Received a gift certificate for Christmas and planned pedicure, facial and massage services. Normally in most actual day spas there are licensed technicians that do the services. Other than the pedicure there were no certificates for licensed massage therapist or esthetician school certificates displayed on walls. It was chaos when I came in..they did not know which service to conduct first..I had called 5 days in advance as in most day spas they would have to schedule the skilled people in those areas I bought services in. Pedicure was ur average strip mall nail place pedicure. The nail tech was good and everything looked clean. While getting a pedicure the 2 large TVs were playing action movies...and the guys that were not doing nails were watching them..how about something for the customer? Just saying. The facial was next. Not exactly a Day Spa experience. It was noisy outside of the room and the tech basically painted on cream and took it off with a warm towel..kinda reminded me of when I would have sleepovers and we would buy the mud masks at Walgreens.They need some soothing music or sounds in the rooms to drown out the noise from outside, it would be much more relaxing. Then the massage. There was no paper to fill out to discuss any surgical or or issues that a massage could irritate in fact there was no talking to me at all. The guy pointed to the room..which looked fairly relaxing..but there was also no soothing music..there was no discussion of clothing..if I were ok with a guy...how deep pressure did I want. I did not feel comfortable enough to strip down to panties as I would normally getting a real massage. I infact left all of my clothing on except my shoes. And cut my massage down to a half hour. I have given this place more than 1 chanceOct 2017 - gel nails done by large female asian woman - 1) less than 1 week, 7 of 10 nails chipped. Came back- she fixed but with an attitude2) Overcharged - brought to their attention- she said oops sorry and gave me the difference in cash.  Nov 2017 - nails done by same large asian woman - again overcharged, again.. said oops sorry  :( December 2017 - nails done again by asian woman - overcharged again- same story -oops sorry with fake smileFebruary 2018- made appt - was running late, called while driving to advise of tardiness- woman answering phone said ok.  when arrived Large Asian woman, said in a loud tone "you Late", you should call.. I told her I did, she repeated herself you late, next time you call, in a louder voice and turned red.  I walked out & told her forget it, you're nasty & I'm not giving you my business.. So these Asian people can go back to Queens, NY and be nasty over there and.. ladies please................CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS.. THEY ARE SCAMMERS, WHO PLAY DUMB.BEWARE ... CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS.... I'm not one to even take time to write reviews but this is by far the worst experience at a nail salon I've ever had. It was like an assembly line for mani and pedis. No personalized experience. They just want to get you in and out. They used tools that were already used. Spent more time stopping to talk than they did putting effort into your "spa" experience ( dropped $130) you would think they value your business. Cut my cuticle during my manicure and said oh I so sorry you bleeding. I think my eye brow wax could've been done better by my 8 year old son. They were uneven, barely done and wax was left all over them. I had to ask for tweezers to fix it myself. I'd been coming here since my family and I had moved to West Point and was generally pleased. The facility is large, clean and modern with many workers. I always came in 1-2x monthly for a fill on my nails and pedicures- both with gel polish spending at least 80 each time including a deluxe pedicure. Anyhow, I became displeased when the owner's wife tried to insinuate I was using someone else's "discount card!" First of all the whole rewards program is laughable. As much as I've been spending here the past 6 months, obviously I don't need to try and stiff this business out of a few dollars! Furthermore I kept all receipts from each visit showing where my card wasn't working. One of her OWN workers attested to such and signed her name on my receipt (see pic) but she wasn't hearing this. (Notice how the rewards go down on the pics). However, I cannot support a business that accuses a customer of such-stealing in other words. My DH bought me a certificate for Christmas as they had such a vast array of services and it was a day spa.I called several days ahead of time and had planned out what services were going to make the most out of my certificate. 60 minute massage, 60 minute facial and organic pedicure - about 35 minutes. When I arrived I found the spa to be very open and airy. It looked neat and there was no one waiting in the waiting area near the check in desk. The attendant at the desk seen my  time scheduled in the book, but there seemed to be no rhyme or reason as to which service I was to have first and it took a few minutes of her leading me towards different areas of the salon before they settled on me getting my pedi first. I guess I kinda wanted a definite plan that the right people were scheduled for my services desired...so I wasn't sure what to expect.Pedicure- "Organic Spa Pedicure" the nail tech wore proper protection and the instruments were sterilized and in their sealed bags. She did a very good job picking out the toes which had ingrown cuticles or built up skin and was very careful and skillful cleaning them up. Being on my feet 8-10 hours a day I have bad calluses and she did a good job taking off enough and not leaving me sore. The leg and foot massage could have been more intense, but that's just my preference. She followed up with a short pass with the hot stone - could've also been longer. All in all it was about 35 minutes. There was a great variety of polishes: Essie, UPI and some nonbrand and more Walgreen variety. If you're going to have TVs and 3/4 of your clientele are women, put HGTV, Bravo or something on...it was on Taken and then Transformers..just saying.Facial - "Deep Cleansing" 60 minute facial. In a room near the front of the salon. The woman doing my facial was quiet and gave direction when needed. She did a number of passes over my face, took out blackheads and applied a mask. While it was drying she gave me a nice arm and hand massage which wasn't in the description so it was a nice touch! After the mask dried, she pealed it off, wiped my face and put a light lotion and spritz over my face. THIS WAS MY FAVORITE SERVICE! I didn't see what brand of skin products she was using. Massage - Normally - at the day spas and massage therapists I've went to - they have you fill out a release form which had a body so you could circle areas to avoid or areas of specific tenderness. Also, usually the masseuse/therapist will introduce themselves take you to the room where relaxing music is playing and set some ground rules. How naked ya want to be, where the bathroom is, and how deep ya want your massage to be.  There was NONE of that. I got the feeling that they guy drew the short straw. He seemed to not really care and barely spoke to me, led me to the room and told me to get on the table face down. I decided to do the 30 minute   massage as I didn't know how this was going to be. He didn't lay down any of those ground rules so I left everything on. I don't think he was certified as a massage therapist and didn't see any certificates. It was more like a decent back rub. Overall, i didn't get the day spa vibe. Not quiet enough, theyskipped the relaxing aspect of the music, essential oil use in the facial and massage rooms and overall feel. I'm still fairly new to the area so I decided to get a no chip manicure and pedicure at this spa. The entire process was so rushed and not the least bit relaxing. The worst part is there was NO massage...NONE! I always look forward to a relaxing hand/foot massage the most whenever I get a mani/pedi, so I was extremely disappointed when I didn't receive any type of massage at this spa. Living in New Windsor for 3 years now, I've struggled with finding a nails spot that I am happy with. I look for 3 things in a nail place: customer service, being warmly welcomed, attended quickly, and acceptable quality of nails. Chocolate Spa achieved 2/3 of my expectations. Although, Wendy was wonderful as she took her time, gave me a subtle leg massage and shaped my nails nicely, the pedicure wasn't something I can brag about. I chose the regular pedicure bc the others offered are way too expensive for my budget. However, the regular pedicure only includes a subtle scrub. Any pedicure should include a good scrub to scrub off any old skin/callus, but this pedicure didn't really do much for my calluses. The pedicures whichever pedicure should include a good scrub; we're paying $20 for it! Although not 100% happy with the pedicure, once I began drying my feet, a gentleman gave me a massage... yessss the massage was everything I needed! 3/5 stars--> the regular pedicures need to come with better quality scrub. Had a regular pedicure done 2 hours ago. Came straight home and my feet look the same they did as when I walked in! The tech spent about 15 minutes, barely soaked my feet, or scrubbed my heals. The techs were making fun of an older woman of color. I didn't feel like I was being treated. well for the price. Tech kept talking to another tech. Even while timer was on for foot message. i went in yesterday for my bday a gift from my husband , the nail tech tore skin off 5 of my fingers , i have one Crockett nail and the others look like i did them a week ago .and the owner said my husband didn't pay for french nails when he clearly did and charged me $45. this is a real person and i have photos which im posted later ! i am beyond disgusted i have to use band aids on my fingers to take a bath and forget washing my hands i am screaming . this place is a rip off , do your due diligence and if u go here and get swindled after reading this , then its your choice look around GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ! Disgusting service after they chemically burned my feet! Right after it happened the manager called to apologize and give me a refund since her husband had the nerve to actually charge me for the service. She told me that she would give me my next visit as a treat since they had burned my feet so bad I wouldn't walk or wear shoes for almost a week. After a couple months I decided to give them another chance bc they were a clean facility but she magically forgot all the begging she had done and her being thankful that I didn't cause a scene at the time. They actually tried to charge me and when I started to remind her of our conversation she got pissed and walked away saying "okay, whatever, bye." Wow. My first time going to this place was less than a week ago. My first impression was it was very clean and nice on the inside, the workers were really friendly to my daughter and I. I noticed they offer many more services than the average nail salon which could be a plus If your looking to go the "extra mile" of treatment. My daughter and I chose a reg. Gel mani and pedi.... But, There were a few things that I noticed that did stand out to me (negatively) but I guess it wasn't a huge deal at the time. For instance.... When it was Time for my manicure the worker didn't soak my nails (cuticles).... I asked if he was going to soak my finger and he stated no because soaking isn't good for the gel polish and a mani is actually better this way.... Now, I am 36 years old, I have been getting manicures for about 20 years and I have NEVER had a manicure done this way. But I chose not to argue and just allow him to do what he thought was best... As long as the results was good. Well it was! I was pleased, my daughter was pleased and we both stated we would return. Fast forward 3 days later.... As I was doing some lite garden work with Gloves upon finishing I noticed 4 of my nails no longer had Polishagain NEVER in the history of my Gel Manicure experience have my gel polish ever came off unless is was after 2 weeks usually 3 weeks for me... This was super surprising to me... Due to a family emergency I didn't return to the salon until  yesterday...(6 days) I walked in and immediately I was greeted and I explained the situation...without a problem I was seated and someone was taking care of my gel polish. I was told it would be free which was great but I was expecting to pay for the re-polish I just wanted to bring it to their attention. Once again I walked out satisfied.... I tipped the young man and thanked everyone again. But now 3 hrs later my nails began to Chip again!!!!!! What is going on?!?! I'm not sure if I should bring it to their attention again.. I don't want to be the complaining lady.... But what is a girl to do??? I'm not sure if I want to go back just because of this... I have been getting my nails done for many years and Chocolate Spa is the first nail salon where the technicians pay attention to you and your needs unlike other salons where you know they are talking about you, continuously stop to talk on the phone or amongst each other or stop to take care of someone else.  Chocolate Spa provides a relaxing atmosphere, is clean, friendly and the chocolate spa actually smells like chocolate.  YUM! First time here and had a great experience. Was nervous to go in on a sunday especially to a new place but I really needed a fill. Judy took her time and made sure my nails came out perfect. I even got the paraffin wax and free massage, which I was not expecting. Most places charge extra for that. Will definitely be back again real soon. Great customer service. I've never been there before and came in as a walk-in, after I cracked my nail in half (very painful). When I asked the man at the front desk if he had anyone available to fix it, he was more than happy to help. I felt like I had been there a thousand times before. He sympathized with me and made my experience really awesome. He even went out of his way to look for colors that matched mine. It was great. The establishment is also beautiful and clean. The ambiance is very relaxing. Exactly what I hope for in a nail salon. 10/10, would recommend. Read Less
