Michelle, her work, and the salon itself would get 5 stars however my experiences with the other nail techs would get 1 star. About a month ago I had an appointment with Deneise for 4:00. I get there on time and she was still with another client. She stayed with this client until 5:00. Thats an hour i had to stay there and wait(which I admit was foolish on my part but I needed my nails done). I told her how annoyed I was and that I dont have the time for that and how i wouldnt have minded coming in later if she had only been considerate enough to give me a call and let me know shes going to need more time with her current client. All I got from her was a dry "sorry".  Today I had an appointment with Niki for a simple polish change at 10:30. I get there and the place is CLOSED. They open at 10:00, and had an appointment so why no one was there is beyond me. I called the Bronx location and told them the situation, and the man I spoke with contacted the manager and I then got a call from one of the technicians saying she'll be there soon. I was shopping at a store nearby so I thought okay whatever. But when i went by 15 minutes later it was still closed so I went home because I simply do not have the time to waste on their unprofessionalism! I get a call later from the same woman saying she's there. I told her to forget it and once again all I get is a "sorry". This place is not what I thought it would be. The concept of the nail bar is great and I was so excited to get my nails done as I sip some wine BUT they don't have all the necessary tools. This place was amazinggggg! Michelle is the best. My friend and I went as a girls day and Michelle did my friends nails. My nail lady was chill but Michelle was great. The atmosphere was so sheek and relaxing! We were the only two inside the establishment. And of course; the wine served was great. I just left the nail bar. My first time going I came across this spot online and it’s 5 minuets away from me. I booked an appointment my technician was 30 minuets behind schedule. What’s the whole point on scheduling an appointment and crazy thing is if your late you get charged $20.00. The place is small and is set up as a bar. You can have a drink while getting your nails done love this. The staff are friendly and nice. I had a gel soak off and gel manicure which cost me a whopping $60.00 they are overly price for sure but then again you’re in the throgs neck area of the bronx. My friend found this place in our neighborhood and we loved the concept of this place so my friend made an appointment for me as a Mother's Day gift. So I go in and my nail tech that they set my appointment with was late. Didn't apologized. Just was late. Her name was Denise but they call her Olivia. She comes in late and complains about her allergies. So as a woman, I try to be understanding being that she is pregnant and I have two kids of my own and I tried to be patient. So as I'm getting my nails done she is talking to me about another co worker. Making comments about her and has an attitude. I was annoyed because as co workers you shouldn't be talking about your coworkers that way. So anyway. She's doing my nails and I'm appreciating that she's taking her time to shape and file them. Cool. So now I wanted rhinestones which were $20 A NAIL. She puts the rhinestones on. And it isn't the color I showed her in the photo. And I'm like wow now I am stuck with these gems because "you don't have" the color I asked for. If you didn't you should've not put the rhinestones on my nails!! If I'm paying $20 A NAIL I want what I asked for. So in the end I'm looking at my nails and I hate them. The acrylic she put didn't even reach my cuticles so when I'm walking out I looked like I needed a fill in instantly. Mind you I been in the salon Since 10:15 AM and it's now 1:00 so I don't feel like staying any longer. I'm trying my best to love my nails and I'm just annoyed. So now Olivia is told to do my feet. Oh no they should not have done that! The whole time she's PISSED doing my toes. I didn't even get the pampering experience my friend paid for. Which is unfortunate being my nails cost so much. I called the day before to schedule an appt for Saturday (Mother's Day). I was told that the earliest appt was 2:15. I said cool, that works for me. I made my $20 deposit because I was anew customer. I got a text confirmation that my appt would be with Quinally Gomez for a gel fill. Then I got a text that it would be with Denise Richards. I drive to the shop and got to my appt on time. I walk in and was greeted by someone (name unknown) and was told that my nail tech was "running late" and if that was ok. I said ok. I mean what else am I gonna say. I'm not gonna cause and scream and fuss, so I say down and waited. There were only two nail techs there, including the one that greeted me. They were doing pedicures. There were also three kids there (assuming with one of the techs). Ok, now I've never been to a nail salon where I've made an appt and had to wait, let alone told that the nail tech was running late. So I'm waiting and waiting (patiently) and then one of the techs gets a call on her cell phone while she's doing a pedicure and one of her kids answers. About 20 min. later, the nail tech that greeted me comes over and says that she's sorry but the nail tech that was going to do my nails has to leave because she has an emergency (something about her husband is in the hospital). LEAVE?! So wait the nail tech has been here all this time? I thought she was running late? When you tell me someone is running late, I presume they are not here. But, no, she was there but doing a pedicure! Really?! So why not say that?! Anyway, I was told basically that i could reschedule because there was no one else that could take me. I just looked at her and said no that's fine. I got my $20 refunded and walked out. Why would I want to reschedule?! Now I understand that emergencies happen and situations that are out of our control arise, but I should have had to wait when I had an appt and then there was no one else that could take me?! So I after days of trying to get an appointment I finally get one. I work in the service business and I try not to leave negative reviews because i know how crappy it makes you feel after receiving one. I read some reviews about the salon ( which said they were great) just to familiarize myself with it. When I walked in the place was nice and neat, the table where the nail tech is station looks like a bar table (hence the name). My nail tech asked me what I was there for, offered me a seat and asked if I wanted something to drink. I didn't like that there weren't many options for the gel. Every salon I've ever been to use perfect match and cnd shellac as well as some sort of "mood" color changing gel. They only offered the cnd shellac, with the option of using an O.P.I polish with a gel top coat. Basically their polish selection was VERY limited. I already had a gel polish on my nails from a precious service at another store so the nail tech had to remove it. Unfortunately it was a glitter gel and she had a very difficult time removing it. She filed, soaked and buffed them to remove it and it still did not completely come off. I've been treating my nails for the last couple of months to help harden them and I felt as though all of my hard work was for nothing because she filed it so much. This eventually changed my mind on the color I picked because I didn't want to put my nails through that again. I'm not sure if my nail tech was still relatively new, but she kept looking at what the other nail tech was doing and asking questions (I don't mind because everyone is new at one point) but, I didn't really feel welcomed, my nail tech didn't really speak to me. She would say a couple of things but nothing major. I understand it's a nail salon and clients build relationships with their nail techs (sometimes they're friends outside of work) but for a new person I felt as though some things discussed but the other tech, should have been filtered. There's no reason why a client should know that you don't get along with another nail tech and that people at your salon steal from one another. You also shouldn't allow your guest to answer the store phone for you OR get mad when you have to walk to the counter to make an appointment or not. I'm not very happy with my nails. They're not all shaped evenly, some are longer than others, and the nail polish wasn't spread out evenly. When you make an appointment you have to leave a $20 deposit, which you lose if you cancel. During my check out I wasn't asked if I had one, my nail tech told me the total and I thought to myself so am I paying that plus my deposit... I told her about the deposit and she had a hard time locating it voicing her frustration of how unorganized her store was, the other nail tech said that i probably wasn't charge but I definitely was because it was on my statements. She located it and checked me out. When I showed my partner my nails he thought I painted them myself and told me that I missed a couple of spots which made me feel a little bad and made me start really analyzing them. (For him to notice that I'm missing spots on my nails and ask if I painted them myself is a huge thing) However i did love my nail color, though I wish the service were a little better. There's a sign that's hidden behind the register that says if you're not happy with your service tell the nail tech before you pay so they can fix it but I felt bad because there was another woman waiting to be serviced. I work in a business where you provide services so I know the stress it can put on you. I just felt she should've been a little more observant and made sure I was even on both hands. I'm glad I tried the salon I just don't ever see myself coming here again unless it's like a last resort. Read Less

I have been going to this place for a few months now and absolutely love it!!!  All the ladies have been really nice and accommodating!!! The nail techs work hard and their work is on point. They make sure you leave with your nails looking beautiful and most important that you are happy with them!!  I LOVE THIS PLACE!! The designs that they do are AMAZING!!!  I use Franchesca and Que.. I love both their work and all the girls there do a great job and take pride in what they do!! I highly recommend this place!!! Let me just start off by saying I have very high hopes of this location. I called yesterday for a Sunday appointment. I was confirmed everything was great but then I was told that they will be closed this Sunday. Ok. No problem. I explained I preferred a Sunday as during the week I have my 8 month daughter and I would hate to bring her in to the nail salon. The lady insisted that it would be OK to do a 9:30 AM appointment with Denise Richards. I asked if it was OK my daughter would be with me. She said it will only be you and the tech so that would work. Ok, perfect! Let me just tell you, after getting my daughter ready, myself, driving, finding parking, PAYING for meter and bringing down the stroller I was at the Nail Bar at 9:29 AM. Guess what? CLOSED. I waited a good half hour until I saw a lady open the doors. After explaining to her that I was waiting for a half hour she immediately calls her manager and the tech. She then tells me that the tech is pregnant and had morning sickness and that she is now driving to the salon.....ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  First off, I was pregnant and a working woman too and a high risk pregnancy at that and any time I knew I'd be late, or not coming in I CALL MY JOB. Why do you ask for clients phone numbers then? Just because its cool to have peoples numbers? NO! Its so that if a situation like that happens you call the client and say your running late this way you don't have a tired mother that is bringing a child, stroller and everything else waiting outside like an idiot. I really enjoyed myself at this nail salon. The staff was really on point with everything. They're very attentive, very talented, and very friendly. My girlfriend and I had mani & pedi's and talked a whole lot of girl talk and the other nail techs and clients got in on the convo and we just had a fabulous time. Absolutely the place to go!! Beautifully decorated nail salon unlike no other Marilyn Monroe is the theme queen! Great pleasurable ambience, friendly staff, entertaining conversations, and the only salon with the most up to date nail supplies and products. Most salons I've visited have your typical acrylic, gel, etc., but this place shocked me with products I didn't even know existed in the market. The artwork and detail put into every nail set is unbelievable they are defini...tely artists by far!!! The artwork is all done free hand which takes talent, time, and dedication so you know your nails are being catered to the minute you have a seat in one of their bar stools while of course you sip on your glass of wine (completely optional up to the customers discretion of course). Janet (the owner) is an absolute gem. Her skills have surpassed any nail technician that has ever touched my hands. The nail designs are like anything you've ever seen before. Every time I walk out of there I cant stop starring at my nails. I can bring her any design, picture or idea and she always does a beautiful job mastering the task at hand. Every time I post pictures on instagram and facebook I get an abundance of likes and comments. People are always asking to see my n...ails and commenting on how beautiful my nails are. I have also had the pleasure of having my nails done by Careisha, another very talented nail artist at the nail bar. I have been a faithful customer of Janet for over 3 years now and the nail bar for over a year. The ambiance of the nail bar is very chill. The staff is always friendly and sociable.
