The manager Brian is not customer friendly, very confrontational. I have No issues with you speaking your native language but when you are speaking about a customer do it in a manner where a rebuttal can be made if need be. When you as a manager go on a verbal lashing due to a request to speak English, the end result equals poor management and business skills. It seems like every time I make an appointment. They always seem to can't find it in there book. They charge way too much Jel polish. The hands are 7.00 more and the toes are 15.00 more. Vonna ground my nails down short IMMEDIATELY after I told her to leave the length. She had to rebuild the nails on my right hand with gel. She used globs and globs of gel on all of my nails. When I put them under the light they burned my fingers almost to tears. Then...while "shaping" them she ground my cuticles and surrounding skin more then the gel. We know what comes next...yes they clean the nails with ALCOHOL!! All over my ripped up cuticles and skin. I gave her the picture of what I wanted....but she didn't paint them that way. I was so angry and frustrated. I left with THICK, LUMPY, LOP SIDED, UNEVEN NAILS AND BLEEDING AND BURNED FINGERS!! I realize that she was not the only tech there. There may be better ones. Got Spa Pedicure today. Did not receive all that was advertised on the laminated menu. Apart of the Spa Pedicure is hot stone massage. I asked twice during the pedicure if he was still going to do the hot stones, because he was starting to paint my nails. He just smiled which indicated to me he did not understand what I was trying to communicate. I asked another personel member and they told me that they don't even have hot stones. They do good work. Loved the pedicure & massage, but I bought the Spa Pedicure because it had hot stones. I would advise that you ask about any treatments here and if they pull out the laminated card with the breakdown of what's involved.... ask about each item specifically, because they may not be capable of providing services that they advertise for. Also, the prices on the wall differ from the actual on some items. :/ I would come back, but only for basics. Read Less

This was my first time coming here, The lady who did my pedi was really nice. I like it a lot because they didn't force anything I didn't like on me. Regular nail polish, just pedi. No forcing gel on me or add a mani. I'm a really quiet person and the lady only asked me a few questions which I like, she wasn't like forcing small talk on me. The atmosphere was nice, lots of people (customers) talking yet not really noisy. Def relaxing. Only giving 4 stars because I would have liked a longer/better massage for the feet as that's why I like getting pedis. The location is great. And the price isn't too bad either for something I do once a month. Will go back, but I also will try another place. My regular pedi place closed down so that's why I'm trying some new places. Overall I would recommend it to someone who doesn't have that much money but wants to get their feet done. My toes came out really cute, but like I said my prime pedi is the massage. Read Less

For a nail salon, it's decent..I keep going back, I haven't had to complain. The manicurists are good, attentive, give me what I want. I think they could incorporate hot stones with pedicures which is part of other salons i.e. Blooming nails but for the price it's good. They also do SNS nails which is a great natural system, they honor appointments and they are moving to a new locations pretty soon. Read Less

So I first went here 1/15 I had a gel pedicure by a nice woman it came out ok. For my next service I had French gel tips done. This was by yen (a really funny good company woman) firstly when spinning my nails I asked for pointed round nails.  When applying the gel builder pink it was a dirty and stick tub I ignored based on how. Ice she was and let her continue. I waited for her to add white gel builder for the top nail portion and she didn't. She said she would do it later ok. When she was ready to apply the white of the nail she used white gel ( no name brand) polish not builder gel. This defeats the purpose of getting and paying for French gel tips. Whatever I decided to just leave it alone as I haven't had this service done in a long time so I appreciated it. I do. What I did not appreciate is the constant pressure to get designs on my nails. No offense to ppl that do it's just not for me. I would maybe get one design that's it. I refused all 4 times even though she kept on about how nice it looks. I finally advised that I don't care for a design. The first photo is the final product. Gave her a good tip as I understand this is what she works for. On my second visit 1/28 for fill ins (gave her another chance as she was super nice) I decided to show her a photo of what I really want my nails to look like. This is the second photo. She advised me that since I would like to shorten the length it won't look exact but she understands none the less. Ok. She did the exact same procedure the second time. I already knew not to expect what I wanted but still liked her enough. She was ecstatic about it being Chinese New Year and offered me some Chinese candy which I liked. Once done she again pushed for me to get a design I caved and allowed her to put something in the celebration of her holiday. She the excitedly added good luck in Chinese writing. I loved it.  she explained that she would be away on holiday for 3 weeks. I was very happy for her and asked her honestly who can I go to in order to get the same if not better services she stated everyone is great. Third and fourth pics are of my nails completed. It is now 2/19 and I'm considering in trying a different place after seeing a woman's nails who works at American cleaners. She got hers done at top nail. We shall see. Read Less

I have never gotten my nails done elsewhere however I feel that they do a good job on my feet. The chairs are huge and they have message functions. The foot baths are lovely and they add minerals to the water. They offer a variety of options to include with your services. I feel as though I get good value for my money and walk away feeling refreshed.Read Less

I've been going here for a year now. After moving back here from living in Brooklyn I've had such a hard time finding a decent nail place. Nothing compares to BK nail salons but I've been doing OK at this place for a bit now. Some of these guys are pretty good, but others are down right awful. It's really hit or miss. The bad ones are so bad that I needed to write this review, I even took a picture so you guys don't fall into the trap. So here we go on their bios... the guy in the picture was who I got last time that went wrong. The language barrier is always a slight issue in nail salons but both of these people do not speak ANY ENGLISH WHATSOEVER!I'm sorry but at least learn how to freaking say hello to your customer because to not greet is 100% RUDE!!! They had to be told what to do by the boss. And apparently the guy in the picture forgets what he's been told. I'm a full time worker, single mom and a part time student. (I promise this ties into the issue) I don't get anything crazy on my nails, very simple..no design just a plain gel color. I wasn't positive about the color I had picked out so the boss translated to this non English speaking guy in the picture to paint one toe and show me so I could approve or disapprove. I wanted a translucent clear coat with a slight tint of rose color. It ended up being pink, very pink.. ( I HATE pink) and as I previously stated about me being so busy and a student when I come here I relax and study. While I had my nose in my notes he painted all my toes this awful pink color. By the time I looked up it was to late. I got very mad and politely asked the boss to make him take it off and told him he didn't do as instructed by painting the one toe first for my approval. The boss then blamed me for not paying attention and refused to take it off!! Really?! Your first instinct is to blame the customer?? So I then told him I shouldn't have to babysit his employees and that I should be able to relax and get lost in a book during my SPA pedicure! No no, my fault I wasn't watching him and yes they refused to take it off without charging me more money for the removal..so it was kept on bc forget that! Now let's get to the female in this picture who is currently doing my pedicure as I write this review and has been for the past hour and 15 mins!! That's right people it is taking her an hour + 15 and counting to do a simple, one color gel pedicure. On top of that complaint the experience is ridiculous. She is looking at her tools like it's her first time doing this and she's not sure what's what. And what was supposed to be the heel scrub with the pedi stone was as light as a cat licking your heel. That's the only thing I can relate that to and the "massage" portion was a pathetic 30 seconds for each leg/foot and that felt like she took an empty pair of gloves and just lightly dragged them across my skin.. I could barely tell wtf she was even trying to do. The guys that do a good job here make it worth coming there's at least 3 male nail techs that do a great job on my pointed cat claw type manicure set. I am getting fed up with it not always being quality here. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for a better nail salon and this place is slowly but surely turning into my back up salon. If the manager wasn't such an ass I might've reconsidered my decision but he is very obnoxious and annoyingly fake. Read Less

I went to Star Nails for a manicure with my mother and grandmother on a friend's recommendation. My grandmother's manicure was superb--the manicurist took his time and catered to my grandmother's needs. However, my mom and I had completely opposite experiences. When we walked in, the staff barely greeted us and the experience devolved from there. From the moment we said we wanted regular manicures and not more expensive services, we were treated poorly. My manicurist was not at all friendly despite my attempts to make idle conversation. She also walked away from the table for 10 minutes in the middle of my manicure. No lotion or massage, no hot towel, and she rushed through the polish--the application was uneven and buckled as it dried.  She also tried to push other services on me and complained that my cuticles were a mess (they weren't). That's to say nothing of the lackluster selection of nail polishes and the lack of ventilation (the salon works with many clients who have acrylics). STAY AWAY! Read Less

I came here last night for a full set of acrylic nails. I showed the tech a picture of the shape and length I wanted. I wound up with crooked nails that are wayyy too long. And I was charged an extra 5 dollars, I'm assuming because he was not expecting a tip. He then said my eyebrows looked bad and pushed me to wax them. I said no I'm the beginning but I eventually caved because he promised they would come out great. I specifically said I don't like them thin and I wanted to keep the shape. He took literally half my eyebrow off and removed my arch and gave me clown brows. I was very upset so he did not charge me the 7 dollars. But that doesn't change the fact my face is messed up. I called today to speak to someone to explain how upset i am and the person on the phone was so incredibly rude and couldn't care less about how I felt about the services performed.
