This is one of those rare instances when I wish I could rate a place zero stars. I walked in early on Friday afternoon to an empty shop, save for one customer. I asked for a manicure, and there was obviously no wait. As I was picking out my polish color, I noticed all of their products were either OPI or Essie, but every single color was extremely thin and watered down; unlike any consistency I've ever seen in nail polish, ever.I sat down at one of the desks and began to notice how gross this shop really is...the floors are dirty...the furniture is old and falling apart...the desk looked filthy and to my dismay, so did the tools! If I hadn't watched him pull the box out of the sanitizer, I would've walked out right then and there. Still, they looked grimey and old, and I noticed that the paper towels covering the desk had nail polish on them that wasn't the color we were using. The overall atmosphere is dirty and creepy. There is a cheap baby radio playing weird Christmas instrumental music; no TV or anything to look at but the grossness. As the technician began to paint my nails, it was obviously uneven and a complete mess. I have very short nails, literally not even long enough to cut. I had nail polish all over my fingers, yet the polish didn't meet the edges of my nail beds. As the technician attempted to clean up his sloppy painting by running his fingernails along the edge of the my nail beds, I noticed with intense horror how filthy his own nails were! Finally I had to say something and complained that the manicure was completely uneven and unacceptable. His response was to apply a third coat of polish, which only made things worse. I pointed out that it was still completely messed up and was about to ask for my $7 + $3 tip back when an older technician stepped in. She'd been working on the only other customer in the place and just got up and abandoned her in the middle of her manicure. The new technician inspected my nails and proceeded to give me a whole new manicure, while instructing the other technician to finish the other customer (sorry, lady!). To give her credit, she was a million times better than the original technician. She re-filed my nails, re-trimmed my cuticles, and painted my nails perfectly. Still, as I looked around at the dismal, dirty shop, I knew I was lucky to make it out of there with anything resembling a decent manicure.. Read Less
