Very beautiful facility. I googled the location from where I was on 52nd between eighth and ninth Avenues. I found 10/10 not realizing how far it was. I was about 15 minutes late due to the long distance and walking. In addition, the hostess there was not very friendly. I wanted a French gel pedicure which is typically what I like on my feet because it lasts for so long. I was advised y the host that being that I was late there is no time for French because of the aesthetician’s next appointment is in a few minutes. Not only that I couldn’t have French but there’s no gel here! I typically get because I do not like waiting all that time for a pedicure to dry, especially when I’m always in a rush. I should have walked out initially when she told me that they can’t do the French pedicure because I was late, but I felt bad wasting the time of the aesthetician. The aesthetician was phenomenal. She was very humble woman also a great conversationalist. I can tell that the staff were annoyed with the host because she was a rude person and publicly rude on top of it for no apparent reason. Ultimately talking down to the employees. Which is very upsetting for me and better look for the company. Unfortunately, I will not be returning nevertheless, the ambience is beautiful. A very nice set up there, but aren’t any windows because it’s in the basement of the hotel which was very hard for me to find as well. Read Less

I had a very disappointing experience here. The hostess was able to fit me in, which was really great. She was very helpful.  I got the quickie manicure, and it was the worst manicure I have ever gotten. I'm two days into it, and it's totally ruined, and I haven't been doing anything that I wouldn't normally do. It's unfortunate to have wasted the time and the $20. It's too bad, as the location is convenient and they have a lot of openings. Read Less

Hands down BEST MANICURE of my entire life. Bhumika did my nails and gave me the most amazing back/neck massage (she literally worked out two knots in my back), if you can...request her!!! She also used two big hot stones on my arms and hands, followed by 5 mini hot stones on each arm/hand again. All of their nail polish is all natural and animal-cruelty free. I had the best experience here on a Thursday night before a business trip. The appointment did not have the most auspicious of beginnings, as I was pissed that the salon called me to tell me that they would not be able to perform the luxe manicure I requested and instead would only have time to do a basic mani/pedi because someone before me came 15 min late. I'm glad I came anyway, because I left with a great mani/pedi.I am very sensitive, so living in NYC is a challenge for me on a good day. Going to nail salons where there are TVs playing, children running around, dirty waxing rooms, etc. fills me with anxiety. Normally, I grin and bear it because I--like most people-- feel better with my nails done. Tenoverten was Zen. So calm. Calming colors, great 90s R&B music playing in the background, no weird odors or harsh lights. The polish selection was excellent. I finally got one of those cool hologram manicures and it has lasted for DAYS. That, honestly, is worth the slightly-higher price in and of itself. Normally, I am chipped beyond recognition within 3-4 days. I'll be able to wear this one for at least a week. They use new or sterilized tools, products with less chemicals AND they use quick dry solution so you leave without smudged nails! I hate sitting under the nail dryer, and even with quick dry polish, I still sometimes find myself having to beg the nail tech to fix the smudged nail I got on the way to the drying station. Not anymore. The stuff they used worked super well, and they don't charge extra for it :)Slight cons would be the pedicure chairs. They could be a bit more comfortable/ergonomic, and you are seated super close to the other people getting their nails done. Also, I forgave it for this trip, but as a store policy, it is really not cool to cut down on my service because someone else came late. They should get their appointment cut down or bumped because THEY were late. I wasn't. Anyway, I would definitely try this place out. If you're looking for cheaper options, this would not be your go-to, but its good for a splurge. I would take my Mom or a good friend here. Read Less

tenoverten's midtown location is an awesome nail salon and waxing spa!  I've been coming to this salon for awhile and won't go anywhere else now. The women doing the nails are all very friendly and helpful, offering me more water when I finished my glass that the receptionist had given me.  I love their color selection--pretty much anything you could possibly want is on that polish wall.  My mani/pedi is always meticulous, all of my cuticles are taken care of and the polish job is beautiful.  You can really tell that they've been well trained and have a lot of experience.  I also love how relaxing the atmosphere in the salon is.  Make sure you book in advance though or it is sometimes hard to be accommodated on their busier days.I used to go to their brow specialist, Sole, but she went on maternity leave and hasn't been back.  Recently, they got a new brow specialist and I tried her out at my last appointment.  AMAZING.  Sandra did an eyebrow shaping and a tinting and my eyebrows haven't looked this good in SO LONG.  I love how she really took her time to understand the exact shape I was going for.  I've gotten so many compliments on my eyebrows in the past couple of days because of this that I just had to write a review.  If you're looking for someone to wax and tweeze your brows perfectly, she's your girl.  I'll be a regular from now on!! So happy tenoverten got their waxing services back!!!! Can always trust them to find a specialist who is the best in the city!! Book with Sandra--you'll thank me later Read Less

So I don't usually do yelp reviews but I read some before heading here and expected better service than I received so I wanted to let people know. I needed a late manicure in the area (my fault for not planning ahead and getting a manicure earlier in the day), so I scheduled a 7:45pm one. It was the luxury manicure I believe and I could choose a design. I also needed a polish change on my toes. The good: The manicurist was very nice and the place was very clean. All of the products used on me were new and sanitary! It was quiet and has a very nice layout, very calming.Probably the best arm/hand massage I have ever gotten at a nail salon with hot rocks and everything. The bad: EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. Especially for regular nail polish, as opposed to gel. They do not have gel, as their polish is all non-toxic. So I expected fancy polish, but they have Essie and other polishes you can get anywhere else with the exception of the tenoverten polish, which I didn't use so I cannot attest to it. They charge extra for literally everything. I have never had to pay extra for someone to cut my broken toenails on a polish change, or for my gel polish to be taken off. Also, I paid for the simple design. It says online that they can do dots, chevron stripes, moons, etc. so I asked for chevron on some nails and stripes on the others (some nails vertical, others horizontal) and the manicurist gave me triangles on some nails (not chevron stripes) and one stripe on the others. I asked to add more and she said it would be hard so she didn't want to. I got her to add a second stripe to the nails, which is not what I initially wanted/asked for but she was sweet and didn't want to mess them up, which I understand. But why can't they do the chevron stripes listed on the website? At the end, they don't even have fans to dry your nails and after putting drying oil on them said they would be dry in ten minutes. I was very careful touching anything after that, and somehow managed to ruin 2 nails in the 20 minutes it took me to get home. So the $100 I spent (the price of it all plus tip), is basically wasted money. Overall: would not recommend. Overpriced and not worth the "non-toxic polish". Just use Essie when you go to another salon, or get gel so it doesn't chip and still pay less than half the price including tip. Read Less

They're always very accommodating and accept walk-ins, but like i said if you're going during the busy time make an appt. The front desk girls are always super nice and the place has always been spotless. I've had many different technicians all who've been good but today I had Sherry Wang (thankfully the receipt had her name) which prompted this review. She was so careful and meticulous I was amazed. It was as if every nail had to be perfect which I highly appreciated. From now on I think i will be requesting her specifically. The only downside was she doesn't seem to spend as much time massaging your hands. I only noticed bc someone next to me was getting a massage from Rita S. and she looked like she was in heaven lol Either way I can live without a long massage for nails that look amazing! Read Less

I had Tenoverten on my list for a while and finally had a chance to visit this past Sunday for a pedicure. The good:- Hostess (not sure if that's the correct term for the person who managed the front desk area) was very friendly and accommodating. I didn't have an appointment and although the salon was less than 1/4 full, I waited about 15 minutes (not their fault of course). My point is that you should make an appointment if you decide to visit.- Lots of polish options including high end brands. The not-so-good:- I read that that place is spotless, but this wasn't the case with my visit. The floor around me had leftover bits of tissue, etc. I'm not sure why the technician didn't clean these up before I sat down when she could clearly see the mess too.- The water was blazing hot - I mean HOT - and I had to remove my foot immediately. I'm not sure why the technician didn't test it first?- The callus remover was not brand new, and had dead skin from someone else all over it. This grossed me out.- I didn't like the cave-like basement location. It was just a bit stuffy and claustrophobic.Overall I admire Tenoverten's efforts to offer a non-toxic nail solution but I was just underwhelmed and can't justify the price point. I won't be back. I wanted an early morning pedicure (before 9a) because I knew I wouldn't be able to fit it into my schedule for later in the day. I had a wonderful experience with the booking process, arrival, and service provided. Everything was done well and I was equally pleased with the ambience as a reprieve from the usual chaos of midtown in the morning. My only hesitation is the price which is a bit higher than I typically pay for a pedicure. However given its location within a hotel, I'm not surprised. All in all I left feeling satisfied. Booked in a pinch after class because they are one of the only nail places by me open later. I have visited the Fidi location but it was so long ago, I don't fully remember my exact experience. However, they definitely take a different approach to your typical mani/pedi experience. Tenoverten considers themselves an "all natural salon", they use no gels/acrylics etc. Decor is minimal and simplistic, and they do not accept walk-ins. In this sense they are certainly higher-end, I love that they offer Nars and Chanel polishes (since many walk in nail salons by me do not). It is also wonderful to experience services without the overwhelming smell of fumes that normally leave me with a headache. When arriving for my appointments I was offered hot tea and water. While I will have to wait and see if my polish holds well, from an experience perspective it is above par. Read Less

We were staying at the Meridien and while flipping through the book in our room when we noticed this place. The prices were only a little more expensive than I'm used to, and my partner had never had a pedicure, so we went for it. When I called, I tried twice and no one answered. I called the concierge and he said he had the same extension and didn't know why they weren't answering. He transferred me and finally after 3 attempts someone answered. I scheduled a Luxe Pedicure for my partner and a mani/pedi for myself. We got there, and the person doing my partners pedicure started about 15 minutes after mine even though he had been soaking. They also ended up giving me the Luxe instead of him, which I didn't realize until they didn't do the same things for him. The woman who did my pedicure was very nice and friendly but she asked about politics, which is a bit too sensitive a topic right now to be appropriate. When it came time for my manicure, she had another client show up and passed me off to someone else. The pedicure took way longer than it was supposed to so I only did the quickie and no polish - I needed to get ready for my next thing. We were disheartened to learn that, inexplicably, although within the hotel, you couldn't charge the services to the room. Good thing I brought my debit card... Read Less

Let me start this by saying that I'm a huge fan of the products and usually the manicures. I usually show them off for weeks! This week, however, I had a terrible manicure at the location in Le Parker Meridien. I showed my manicurist the photo of a design I wanted, and she raised her eyebrows but said she could do it. Then, her colleague came over and started laughing about the difficulty of what I was asking for. After the two settled down, I presented a simpler style but the manicurist said she would do the original one I had showed her. Moments later, she sighed loudly and asked the other manicurist to switch with her to do my manicure, disrupting the service next to me. The other manicurist declined. At this point, I was very uncomfortable and too nervous to ask her to stop.My nails looked messy and not at all worth the $48 I paid for it. I removed the polish that same night because it was clumpy and messy.I'm highly disappointed. I understand that the style was intricate, but if she knew she couldn't do the design well, she should have said so and I would have gotten a simpler style that at least looks like it was professionally done. At the very least I'd like an apology. This is a high quality salon, I shouldn't have been made to feel like my request was ridiculous and left with a messy manicure. To top things off, I emailed the salons customer service and got no response, despite their 24-hour response policy. Read Less

After the NYT article gave voice to what I shamefully suspected about most nail salons, I couldn't bring myself to visit a $25 mani/pedi house of horrors ever again. I do my nails at home most of the time but once in awhile enjoy paying someone fairly for a little pampering. Tenoverten is clean but small and Rita did a good job on my manicure and pedicure. They have a large selection of polishes including their own line. It's in the basement/nuclear fallout shelter of the Parker Meridien and they thoughtfully provide wireless because your phone will not work. The only strange thing is the incongruously filthy and rundown bathroom that is shared by Drybar, Tenoverten, and the makeup/hair salon. The decor everywhere else (and in LPM itself) is sleek and clean but this bathroom is aggressively disgusting. I have used cleaner bathrooms in East Village bars, pre-Giuliani. Woof. Read Less

YAS, I finally found a nail salon I don't hate. I was able to make an appt. easily and on short notice. This place is tricky to find. I walked into the Parker meridian and was surrounded by crazy mirrors and had no idea where to go.....I would advise you walk through the DryBar door and go to the elevator right in front of you. Then press "basement" - it's right there on the bottom floor.I was actually expecting a more luxurious salon - it was very simple, but nice. It was also pretty small. They do not do gel nails at all and they specialize in non-toxic. Pretty cool, actually. I hate gel nails...they ruin. Anyway, I picked my color - a nude Dolce & Gabbana color. I loved that they had Essie, Nars, D&G and Chanel. I felt like a little mini queen. Erica was my manicurist. I told her my shape is fine but I have a lot of hangnails. She said they don't do any cutting, but got rid of all my hang nails with the tools she had. She made my shape even more beautiful. She took her time, which is the most important thing here. It was supposed to be a 15 min. mani and it wound up being a lot longer because she messed up a nail and then volunteered to fix it, of course. It was a great experience - this was my best mani in NY. Underneath the Parker Meridien Hotel is a little beauty oasis.  As soon as you step off the elevator on the lower level, you see a chic, mysterious nail salon named TenOverTen.  It is this nail salon that offers manicures and pedicures that are adored by beauty editors and beauty girls like myself.A digital beauty editor that I follow on Snapchat had posted a photo of TenOverTen and their abundance of nail polishes, followed by her manicure.  I was so impressed, I immediately went online and booked an appointment.  Their site allows you to pick a location, a service and date and time.  The date/time is great since there is literally a time that can work for anyone (my appt was 7:25p!) along with exact start and end times.  Their Midtown, SoHo and TriBeCa locations stay open until 10pm M-F unlike the Financial District and lone Austin, TX locations staying open until 8pm M-F. Know that if you're late to an appointment your service may change. Por ejemplo: a 15 minute quickie manicure may need to be shortened if you're running late and they're closing soon. Now, if you're skeptical on who handles your nails don't worry about it. I know exactly who you need to see. TOT's very own artist, Almaz. Almaz is an extremely talented manicurist who has a background in beauty and a sharp eye for detail. I've seen her twice and she's a true professional that cares about your expectations of her and how beautiful and well-groomed your nails are at the end of your manicure. Both times I've had my nails done by her they've been immaculate and lasted between 8-10 days.  The services at Ten Over Ten are like that of a spa. My first time here I requested a hot stone manicure massage. This involved smooth, heated rocks rubbed on my hands, fore arms and ended with a shoulder massage while each hand was wrapped in a hot towel with stones in between each hand. It was oddly soothing and satisfying. The $15 Quickie Manicure was a little more than 15 minutes and more like $20, and frankly seems to be worth the same as their traditional manicure for $25. Hello, loop hole! While you're getting your nails done, it's easy to have a moment to yourself and take a look around. Ten Over Ten is a somewhat cold environment of a nail salon but very modern and trendy. Their polishes include NARS, Dior, Chanel, D&G, Essie and their own line of polishes named - of course - Ten Over Ten. Every station is cleaned and all the tools are fresh with files and buffers brand new. They use water with their manicures but that doesn't seem to be the case for pedicures. (Which seems to suggest they're conscious of having a sterile environment as possible). Read Less

Booked a last minute same day manicure as a "treat yourself" kind of thing. The actual location is a little hard to find; it's not on street level but actually underground beneath the Parker Meridian hotel. Arrived and had a lovely relaxing experience: nice music (and not too loud), fine color selection, very clean and safe environment. (I found this location on a list of ethical NYC nail salons after the NYT expose a few months back.) Manicure was kind, gentle, and very precise in her work; I just got a basic manicure and it's the best quality I've had in a long while. Will delivery be returning. Read Less

Loved my service here.  Also LOVE the hours- they totally saved me when I had a huge business meeting but no time to get my nails done.  Came in super early in the morning and walked out confident about my meeting. It's a little weird that they don't have nail dryers so you have to hang out there for a few minutes and there isn't even a separate space to sit and wait for your nails to dry - you have to sit in the pedicure chairs or at the manicure table.  If I have to wait 10 minutes for my nails to dry, could there at least be a more comfy place? But it won't deter me - I'll definitely be back! Tenoverten has become my new spot for manicures. The polish selection is amazing including rgb, Nars, Chanel, the tenoverten line, and the typical Essie & OPI. And as far as making appointments you can book online and you are able to book of you want with a specific tech you like. My favorite is Frances whose very skilled but literally the funniest, nicest nail tech ever. I also find the quickie manicure to be the perfect manicure ($15) for me.Also the desk staff is very good about remembering names which never hurts considering I've only been twice. The little things. And I love that they let you pay and tip on your card so when you are done your nails won't chip when you dig in your wallet. Also let's be real too this place ended up on every list of where to get an ethical manicure post the damning nytimes article so who wouldn't want to support?! Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

Woof. Read Less

About $19 with tip. Read Less

Read Less

A little disappointing... I've been here before and had a good experience but this last time - when I brought a friend , the experience was pretty bad. My nail technician seemed a little annoyed, the hostess seemed annoyed, and two days later- my friend and my nails are chipping. For $155, I was hoping for a more pleasant experience. The nail colour selection is incredible and the location is very swanky. Just wish the service had been more consistent with other visits.
