The lady who helped me obviously wanted to go home for the day. She cut my cuticles so quickly she cut one finger. She also scraped my nails so hard it hurt. She never made eye contact and was completely unfriendly. I really didn’t want to leave her a tip at all, but I just couldn’t do it. Worst nail experience of my life. Read Less

Just had the worst experience with a very racist asian woman. One late evening I was here with my sister getting a pedicure and a gel manicure. The woman who was assigned to me was not attentive from the get-go. When she was filling up the foot tub with water it overspilled and the other manicurist next to her had to tap on her to get her attention.. She just laughed it off. Of course I was already concerned and mildly irritated at that point because my shoes got wet in the process.. The service was terrible. She also kept asking me what ethnicity I was and proceeded to ask me where I lived.. exactly what street etc. She was very intrusive and even though I obviously did not welcome her rather personal questions she kept on going... she also proceeded to mention that she was from Europe though she obviously looked 100% Asian - even though I did not ask her. She was just totally off! Never coming back here with my sisters again. Not to mention I was not happy with the pedicure and gel manicure I received from her.The last time I visited the shop owner/manager personally did my nails and she was terrific. However, being at this prime location you'd expect more courteous behavior from the rest of the staff.. Very inconsistent here. This is the best place I have ever gone for nails. Chris was one of the nicest people to ever do my nails. The colors are amazing and the prices were reasonable.  I have plenty of nail places by me, but this is the first where I have zero complaints and only compliments to give.  I get my nails done all the time and I will certainly be going back to this place. I am so grateful that I found this place and thanks again to Chris for doing an absolute amazing job. She even opened the place early for me so I could go work on a TV show where it was required that my nails were done before my call time. Read Less

Great manicure/pedicure and convenient location. They are open early for a before work mani/pedi. No frills salon but the owner is nice and accommodating. My pedicure chipped and they lent me sandals for free after redoing the nail. Note - They only take tip in cash. Read Less

Hands down my favorite place for a mani/ pedi combo. I came in one evening for a mani/ pedi in a rush and not only did they immediately fit me in but they did both at the same time! Staff is friendly, facilities and tools are clean, and one of the best mani/ pedis I have gotten in ages. At first very warm welcome and price quoted for filling ($42) wasn't much higher from Brooklyn so I decided to get it done. It took forever and once the bill came at $70, I got surprised but paid it of course while tipping $7. Once the woman saw the tip amount, she got visibly upset and was huffing and puffing under her nose. I wanted to come back for led use but when I asked if they are open during holiday weekend she acted as she didn't speak English. I got my nails dried and when leaving I said thank you and goodbye, I was met with dead silence. Not nice. Nails were well buffed and evenly painted though... They are on point with their services. I LOVE their footspa chairs too. It caters to guys too and they treat guys really well, attend to all their needs. I like that this place opens before I have to go into work, which is hard to find, and I was happy with the gel manicure I got. However, I'm really not happy overall because for some reason, I got charged about $70 for a simple gel manicure! I noticed that the receipt she gave me didn't have a line for tip so maybe she just gave herself a huge tip with my card? I wasn't about to argue though, as I was already at work by the time I noticed how much she charged me. Really sketchy though. I only go to Urban Nails on 53rd and 3rd now. Read Less

So excited that this salon was open early so that I could get a quick manicure before work! I believe the woman who did my nails was the owner and she was incredibly friendly and also super aware that I had to get to work (without rushing the actual manicure). Tonight I walked in at 8 pm hoping to geta typical gel manicure. I sat down and was initially helped by one woman and she wrapped my nails to soak off the gel that I currently had on them. After about 10 minutes I noticed the woman relocated to the pedicure area where she proceeded to do a manicure on another patron. When I realized I would be sitting waiting awhile I asked another woman if she could take over as I didn't want to have the acetone sittingon my nails for too long (bad experience before where it dries out your nails and they start to bend - it hurts!!). The second woman sat down and started to do my manicure incredibly fast and rough cutting my fingers not once but twice! And when I started to bleed she made a weird reaction and said something like "youkeep bleeding, means too much sugar??" In which I responded "you're an idiot" just kidding I did not say that even though I really wanted to...I said "my platelet levels are just find thanks...." And gave a dirty look. She kept yelling at me that I couldn't relax my hands enough her to do my nails.. I have been getting manicures for 20 years and have never had a problem... I thought I would leave without tipping but I ended up just feeling sorry and gave her one anyway.Such a weird experience. This nail salon would be a last resort for a second visit! Read Less

I love this place! I've never made an appointment and never had to wait more the 5 minutes for my service to start. Everyone is friendly and professional and it is one of the few nail salons that is open at 8 am!Their pedicures are relaxing and they do a fantastic job for only $30!!! I got the worst gel manicure at this salon. The paint started chipping the day after I got my nails done. For a $38 manicure on the upper east side I expect A LOT more from them. Granted, I've gotten better ones from Nail Bar before but after this one, I'm not going to waste my time or money when there are nail salons ten feet in every direction from them. Read Less

If this place was nicer the prices would be worth the visit. By place I mean employees the women (JENNY) who did my nails cut me 4 times I asked her every time to stop being so aggressive yet she continued. She literally made me bleed. Then expected a tip after over charging me I got a powder fill, and gel color over $65 nope she wanted to charge me $85 and when I asked for an explanation she had an answer replying that it was $5 per nail to remove gel color and the massage that's complimentary was not. Liars, schemers oh yea and I don't think she was even licensed to do nAils I never saw her license on the wall where they have everyone's name and license number! Nail bar is on the same block as my job, so I've been here twice now for quick, lunchtime manicures.  I agree with everyone that the space and people are super nice -- both times I've been, I walked away with gifts.  Once a mini lotion (though I didn't like the smell and gave it away) and once with a mini face wash that I haven't tried yet.BUT... I don't come here for smiles, I come for a manicure.  And neither time was I really satisfied with the job.  The first time I had an older lady, so I decided to come back for someone else.  I mean, $11 and being across the street is a wonderful combination.  But the second time I still wasn't impressed, and my skin under my nails started to peel back after a couple of days.Honestly I might try them one more time just because of the cheap/convenient factor, but if I find another place within a couple of blocks that I like, I won't need to any more.
