A lost booking did not augur well for my first visit. However, in fairness to the girls at the salon they worked hard and did a great job on my feet and the beginning of my nails. I like the end result, now but when I mentioned I wanted French polish all hell broke loose. Mentioning the lost booking and the fact I did say I wanted SNS plus French made no difference. I was dropped like the proverbial hot cake. Another lovely lass took over to complete the processes. I came away stunned at what had transpired and the cost. This is the place to be for any beauty needs. Perfect place to pamper yourself or your friends! Niana was absolutely fantastic with my nails, plus she is a character!! Made me feeel welcome straight away! I like how you have your own file and buff. I think the way they handle personal hygiene is fabulous! Makes me and others think it is a clean place. But so happy with my nails. Will definitely be going back. As for the make up artist, WOW. She is incredible and talk about va...lue for money. I got my make up done 3 hour before the event and it's now been 8 hour since and make up still looks perfect, eye lashes still attached! I booked my reservation for a blow out with Nathaniel back on May 4th, but when I got there on May 17th, they had no Idea of my reservation and it looked like I was double booked. Since I was there during my lunch hour, I didn't want to wait. The male receptionist and girl doing the blowout offered zero alternatives and had no idea what to say to me. When they noticed my frustration, a makeup artist, Jessica that was working that day just happened to know how to do hair, which lucked out for me. She was wonderful. I also ended up more than what I expected. When I was offered to use the curling iron, I didn't realize it would raise the blowout price $20 and I ended up paying $80. That was not Jessica's fault, because she didn't know the rates. Yesterday I tried Thermiaesthetic which is ThermiSmooth Skin Tightening.I ran over on my lunch break and LoLa who was the Esthetician couldn't have been nicer!She rubbed a ton of gel on my lower face and neck with my clothes covered with towels then came the funny device.I was nervous as she said I might be a little red after, but I wasn't at all!The treatment itself was pleasant and I almost fell asleep I was so relaxed!Then the gel was cleaned off about 25 minutes later and then I was good to go!I went back to the office and they were none the wiser! My skin already looks tighter although she recommended another couple of treatments. Which at the price point is affordable.If you need a little lift with no down time I can't recommend it enough! It's worth noting that my makeup artist was very nice and I feel badly leaving a sub-par review, but I have to share my honest feedback. While very nice, the artist was woefully lacking skill...I had an eye makeup appointment for 2:30, was called well in advance to come in a bit later, 2:45, no issue. Got there on time, had to wait until 3:00 pm to be taken and was by this time concerned this would create a time crunch. I figured that the service couldn't take too long as getting my entire face made up generally only takes 45-60 minutes at the absolute most...fast forward 45+ minutes later(!) and I'm handed a mirror to look at my makeup and was dumbstruck. First, I noticed two black spots on my cheek that I had to point out and the artist used oil to remove what turned out to be lash glue (I mean, wouldn't you remove before handing me a mirror to see?) Then I see that my eyes are both lined with thick rings of black liner, akin to how my 12 year old self used to apply makeup as a newbie. Upon a quick glance, I also noticed that my left eye was completely uneven and didn't even align to my lash line- it looked like I had rubbed off a quarter of it. I couldn't believe that $60 and 45+ minutes later, this was the end result. I asked the artist to fix my eye and after two attempts to correct (and an extra 10 minutes later), I finally had to leave dissatisfied as I was now nearly an hour in to the disappointing endeavor. I ultimately had to adjust and correct on my own when I got home, which made me even later than I already was.I also bought Olaplex 3 from their retail section for $50 and was disappointed to learn from a friend that it's easy to find significantly cheaper at most NYC salons and online (I googled and confirmed). I recently went into Gotham Beauty Lounge before a night out. Bella and Ashley the two stylists who helped me with my hair and makeup could not be more warm, welcoming and friendly. My hair was blown out to perfection and all of my friends commented that night that it had never looked so great. My best friend has been going to Gotham Beauty Lounge for years! I've been wanting to get balayage for a while but from my previous traumatizing experience I didn't want to take the risk. My friend swears by this salon so I decided to book an appointment and try it out. From the moment i stepped into the salon, I was instantly greeted by the receptionist who offered me something to drink and made me feel right at home. Ashley examined my hair (which is super thick and course) and i expressed to her that it's super dry and didn't want too much color applied at once. Ashley understood EXACTLY what i wanted and started to work her magic. She was very patient and put her best efforts in producing the results that I wanted. After she finished the color process, she gave me the most AMAZING blow out. My hair has never looked this good! My hair looks shiny, healthy and REVIVED!! It's been three weeks and I still keep getting compliments on my hair. Gotham Beauty Lounge is now my NEW favorite salon. Worst shallac in the history of shallac! Chipped and broken nails within 24 hrs, by day 3, 5 out of 10 nails chipped, by day 4 all 10 chipped. Charged 45 dollars for shallac and told no under or top coat needed! The product was shocking. I think I've been to about six salons for blowout with Beauty Pass BB and this is by far my favorite. I was a little skeptical because it's small and slightly awkwardly laid out. The receptionist was also a little standoffish. To be fair to him I was six minutes late, but my stylist was ten minutes late.Anyway, the stylist look at my hair at first and pointed out some problems I was having with breakage. She suggested a service but not necessarily in a pushy way. I like that they use all oribe products.I was really satisfied with the loose curls and volume in my hair. I stopped by for a haircut/styling and was very satisfied with the results! Its a beautiful place and conveniently located near my office. I received many compliments from my friend and co-workers.During my payment, the receptionist was entering my information for a digital receipt.I found out they dont accept debit card tips, so I went over to the bank to withdraw cash.During that time, I opened up my email to see that she totally misspelled my first AND last name. Not even a typo-mistake. Like just totally butchered it. I recall spelling it out for her & even handing over my ID to her but I guess that was little of importance to her. Mind you, the place was dead. I went in to shape my eyebrows. The lady that helped was very nice and friendly but didn't know what she was doing! My eyebrows are nothing like what asked her for, they are not even shaped similarly. The arch is not even a straight arch. Also it's $46!!! I would gladly pay that for a great job but not for this. I had Sebastian help me shape and tweeze my eyebrows. He was very friendly and professional. He consulted with me first about what my opinion is and then start design my eyebrows. The tweeting procedure is painful. This is also why I don't tweeze by myself. The price is high - in usual salon, eyebrow shaping costs $7 but here, it costs 45+tax+tip=almost $60. You might want to evaluate if the eyebrows shaped here really worth a cost that is 9 times more than the alternate option. Read Less

I had a pedicure done here because I won a $25 off coupon. Online it says their pedicures cost $48.50. I had the pedicure and it was fine, a little uncomfortable because they don't really have a proper pedicure station. None the less, Roberto was great, took his time and I was happy with his work. I gave Ali my $25 off and he told me total cost was $23.50. I asked for my receipt, he charged me $62.00. When I pointed it out they were very apologetic and told me they would reimburse me the next day. 4 days later, nothing happened so I called and Ali said he would do it right away. As of now, 10 days later they have only given me $11 back of the $39 they owe me. I've called again and hope to have this issue resolved soon but they have not returned my calls. Read Less

Located near the Bryant Park Hotel, there is a hidden little gem. Gotham Beauty Lounge is perfect if you need a touch up prior to a night out or an event in the city. I had my makeup done there, and I was extremely impressed with both the level of professionalism, knowledge, in addition to the treatments and service. I use the the calendula creme oil-free system treatment religiously. In particular, it is great for the summer or for anyone who desires a light moisturizer. OMG Roberto! After years living in New York I almost forgot the high Italian standard I was used to.I tried almost everything and Roberto is great and precise. He follows high hygiene standards that are almost impossible to find in US.He shaped my eyebrows (wax) perfectly and the European facial is something that you wouldn't forget. In addition I have never had a polish so perfect. My girlfriend and I came here for hair and makeup for a big night out. Makeup: My eye shadow was good for photos, horrific for talking with someone. First off, they didn't remove our street makeup to apply their makeup. Who else doesn't start with a clean base? Second the artist is a smoker and hadn't washed his hands. We wondered how clean his hands really were, and one of us is a smoker! Third our under-eye makeup was so thick that at 30 and 35 we both had grandma creases. My friend's mascara was clumpy: really? Hair: Mine looked great, but the artist said it would be great for a week, and well...no. The next day my hair was greasy and flat. My friend got nothing that she wanted, and just ended up leaving with straight hair with no body. For $300, it was a complete bust. Should have gone elsewhere. Read Less
