I visited the Nostalgia Ale House & Wine Bar with my girlfriend this past weekend. Neither of us had heard of it but it was very close to where we live. We were both extremely glad we gave it a shot. My son and I went for brunch today. Omelet was great and very good coffee. My son had eggs benedict and says its the best sauce around. Our waitress was very friendly and had our food in a very reasonable amount of time. Love all the old Décor but I remember my parents having some of those items which makes me feel old! I really liked the potato chips, probably some of the best I have ever had. They were free which was a bonus. I had the philly deluxe. They gave me some mashed potatoes which I really liked. I was too busy looking around (being my first visit) to notice the bible just inside the entrance.  My dinner partner noticed and tried to get my attention but I didn't catch on.  Had I noticed the bible we would have turned right around.I order the Salmon and asked the waitress to be sure that it wasn't overcooked.  She said not to worry, the owner was cooking.Not only was my salmon cooked beyond recognition, it was served in a tray of OIL.My companions $25 prime rib was ordered medium rare and served well done and looked AWFUL.Never, ever again. Tried out this place for the first time tonight. The food was great. Ordered the wings,salmon, and linguini with clam sauce. I liked how all the little sides of dressing or cheese were in mason jars, it seemed to be their theme. Very cool wine glass too! I have two improvements for this establishment. 1. Rotate your music selection outside, not everyone wants to listen to country all night. 2. Clean your bathroom, please. Overall, a good place for a bite to eat on the lake. Read Less

Went there on Monday July 3rd and there was only a few customers there at the time. Let me start with the service!!!! It was some of the worst i have ever seen. We placed our drink order which was fine but (sprite was flat) then our food order about 10 minutes later. After that we didn't see a waitress or our food for over an hour, no one ever came back to ask if we wanted another drink or update us on food. Finally food came well at least some of it, we got the excuse that another server took it to a different table. Well that is a piss poor excuse for me. Then we had two prime rib melts and they where horrible, let's just say i could have a football out of it because it was so tough. Just not a well run place, the only thing the waitress said was how she needed a drink well let me tell you so didn't we after sitting there for two hours with no food or drinks.I guess that's why we had no problem getting a table that night when Lake Local and Carsons had a two hour wait, that should have tipped us off. Staff was very friendly, attentive & timely from the moment we walked in.  Decent beer & wine selection and the menu definitely got out attention.  Coconut shrimp/shrimp/clam appetizer was very good, the steamers were big in size & tasty and the prime rib "sandwich" was delicious.  Tho I do question how they call it a sandwich - more like a steak on a roll...lol.   This was an impulse stop and very pleased by our choice.  We'll stop in again for sure the next time we're in the area Read Less

First time coming here. My husband and I are impressed. We love history so the atmosphere was interesting to us. The service was great, our waitress was friendly and quick. Also if your wanting a prime rib but don't want to spend 30 a dish come here and order the prime rib melt, so good. I ordered the coconut shrimp and was pleasantly surprised by the amount. This business has changed names and probably ownership several times over the last 5-10 years, but the current establishment is my favorite to date. As the name signifies, it brings back that feeling of nostalgia with throwback decor and a throwback feel. Great food and beer selection, and super polite and helpful staff. Read Less
