I was skeptical about "Magic Nail" at first because it doesn't look that nice on the outside (or even on the inside), but Amy and (I think her name is..?) Christy are awesome. They are hilarious and extremely talented. I moved to Johnstown from out of the area and tried Kim Nails in Gloversville (prices are ridiculously cheap...$20 for a full set, and she can do them in less than 10 minutes, no joke), but you get what you pay for. My nails were popping off left and right and the quality of them was terrible. I'll never go there again. I tried the nail place in Pyramid Mall in Johnstown, and while they were a step up from Kim Nails, the nails were still crap. The acrylic was lumpy, the tips were placed on my nails crooked, and of course they rushed painting them so they never dried and got smushed on everything I touched for the rest of the day.
Magic Nail is fantastic. I'm a hair stylist and makeup artist, so I'm pretty picky about my nails, and Amy has yet to disappoint. Every time I go there it's the best full set I've ever gotten! The only downside to Magic Nail (okay, aside from the decor), is that everyone seems to have caught on to their talent, so you either have to wait at least an hour if you walk-in, so your best bet is just to call ahead. There are only 2-3 people on at a time, so there is usually a wait, but it's worth it. Read Less
