My sister has terminal cancer and is in a hospice facility that is over 5 hours from where I live . I wanted to give her a special treat of a manicure and pedicure to lift her spirits, so I scheduled these to be done at the hospice facility 3 days in advance because my family would then be in Ithaca visiting her. The receptionist confirmed the appointment and wrote down the hospice address. We arrived at the facility before the scheduled services and when the manicurist was over 1/2 hour late, I phoned Hollywood Nails and they informed me that she was on her way. One hour later still no manicurist. I called again and the receptionist kept saying "OK", but when I insisted she specify exactly what "OK" meant, she handed the phone to someone who told me they do not do hospice manicures. I asked them why they could not have told me this 3 days earlier when I made the appointment, but he had no answer. So now my sister did not get the lift I wanted to give her. Very in professional.. as my friend and I went in today asking for gel powder which they do not have but proceeded to say they did. The lady pulled out acrylic powder and argued with me that it wasn't acrylic that you did dip it and just put the gel polish over the powder... as my friend did have this done before she accepted it thinking it would be like her previous experience. However in the end they just gave her a gel polish and when we told them that's not what we wanted that we wanted the powder the lady had said she told us we did not need that that this does the same and that gel powder is bad for our nails... very unimpressed and now my friend has spent money on something she didn't want and has to go get them redone so her nails don't break.
