Needed a manicure after work today and I had looked online to find out the phone number so I could make an appointment. I was surprised when I read some of the negative reviews so I figured I would write a positive review about my experiences here, as I've never left disappointed.I work in the area and sometimes I come here for a manicure after work if I know I won't have time on my day off or if I have somewhere to go after work and I need my nails to look presentable. I'm a colorist in a salon so sometimes by the end of the week my nails can look pretty crazy. Today I had a manicure and a ten minute massage with Liz. She was pleasant, my nails look awesome, and her 10 min massage was just what my neck and shoulders needed-- also it made sure I wasn't going to smudge my manicure... Will definitely be back! Friendly staff! However prices are ridiculously high! Place is in need of a major renovation! Looks out of date and all the marble, gold/brown wall paper, curtains with tassels and throw up orange ceiling paint is not very inviting! With these prices an upgrade shouldn't be a problem. Pedicure chairs are not very comfortable and nor fully operating. Very poor lighting along with polish display! Too many repairs with black or packaging tape! Smh This salon is surrounded by high end dept. stores and should reflect the area and NOT just the high prices! Eric and Yoyo are awesome and should branch out to a better quality salon! Whatever you do, do not get your eyelash extensions done here!! With the price of $45 it sounds like a great deal, but the eyelashes pulled out ALL of my real eyelashes. The woman doing them also made the eyelashes on each eye uneven? One side was fuller and longer than the other and looked ridiculous. I would spend a little more and go somewhere else. I have been here a hand full of times and it's definitely not my 1st choice.  The only reason I'm writing a review is because in my most recent visit I had a horrible experience.  I was seen immediately and within 5 minutes of my fill in, the nail tech managed to cut my finger.  I wasn't  sure if she was new or didn't have a good handle on the machine.  I was in total disbelief on what happened, I've been getting my nails done for years and never had something like this occur. I quickly approached the hostess and demanded a more experience nail tech...management didn't not come over once to apologize or try to easy my horrifying experience.  The initial nail tech wanted to put all sorts of liquids on my finger without asking any questions.  Who does that without asking permission or asking if I had any allergies.  Luckily Lucy took over and did a good job.  It took me 2 weeks to write this post, andIt's simply because I still can't believe how poorly management handled this situation.  Upon paying for my services I expressed my concerns to the manger and he just stared at me like a deer in headlights.  Not an apology or a gesture of a small discount.  Nothing!!! For starters the decor is lovely and they have an abundance of manicure tables & pedicure chairs. I have gone here twice now and have always had a pleasant experience. I can only speak for their pedicures & gel nails as I haven't experience any other service. My first pedicure was truly tranquilizing.. the 2nd time around my pedicure lacked the long massage, but I still enjoyed it. My gel manicure & pedicure came out to a total of $100.00 & then I was pressured to tip both women even though I did not want to because my nail job was not worth $100.00 3. I have been here several times and each time I wonder why I came back.  They rushed through my manicure and pedicure during my last visit and it is super expensive for mediocre work.  I brought my daughter here last week to get her eyebrows done and she was still red the next day.  The wax was definitely too hot and she still, a week later has red marks.  Lesson learned....I will not be back. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place. The ambiance of a salon and spa is as important as the service you receive in my opinion. Sun nails is on point! I had Kathy do a regular Mani/pedi which for $28 dollars was just what you would expect from any nail salon. They had several spa upgrade options which were nice but a bit out of my price rang for today. I was a walk in and was helped immediately which was nice. At the end I received a card that after my 10th visit I can get a free manicure or 10 minute massage. I will be back! Read Less

I have been going to Sun nail for about a year.  Sofi does an excellent job!  She takes her time and pays close attention to detail.  I have a love hate relationship with my nails.  I love when they are done but not a fan of sitting still to get them done.  Sofi eases my "hate relationship" with a great shoulder and neck message to start off. I got the OPI 10 day polish done here and it lasted 24 hrs. Owner brushed it off saying my nails are thin. She offered to repolish with the same polish. I asked if i could apply what I paid the day before to a gel polish but she was only willing to take $5 off even though I spent $21 the day before. Not going back again! Read Less

Reading these reviews below are really surprising. I went to this location through a recommendation. The person who recommended this place had a lovely gel mani and I loved how they looked. She recommended Sun's because they are fairly inexpensive and told me to only see "Emma." So, I booked an appointment first thing I could with Emma to check her out for myself. After I booked the appointment and got off the phone, I decided to peruse their Yelp reviews and photos... Oh dear, to my surprise, the nails in the pictures above look really tacky and gross. I'm not all about fake acrylics but I do get some people love that look (I don't know why.....) and the reviews about how many people hated the service they received at Sun's made me almost cancel my appointment and go somewhere else... I'm happy I didn't though.I arrived to my appointment promptly. Was greeted courteously by the staff. I picked out my nail polish, told Emma what and how I wanted my nails and she went to work. It must've taken Emma about 15-20 minutes to do my nails and they came out lovely. I seriously loved my gel mani. They do give hand and back massages, but I told her not to bother as I'm not a massage type of person. If you're into getting massages, then this place offers that added bonus for you, at no extra charge.The price: $25. How long they lasted? About 3 weeks. DO NOT GET EYELASH EXTENSIONS HERE!I had the worst experience getting eyelash extensions from Sun's Nails. First, after they were applied, I told them that it felt like the glue was ripping out my eyelashes, as if they had glued too many together or applied too much glue. They assured me that it was fine and would feel better after I got used to it. So, I went home and was in physical discomfort for the whole night. Trust me, the pain of your eyelashes slowly being ripped out of your eyelids is awful. I went back the next day and told them they had to fix it. They removed the eyelashes that were giving me a problem, applied new ones, and voila, no more pain. Meaning that they had done something wrong the day before, but refused to listen to me when I said something the first time.Other than that, their application wasn't very good either. You could see huge globs of glue all over my eyelashes. If they're applied correctly, you shouldn't see the glue at all. Fast forward a couple weeks and I'm officially sick of my eyelashes. So I went back to them to get them removed. I was shocked when they told me that they charged extra to get them removed, but I wanted them off, so I just paid it. I totally regret this now because they ripped out all my real eyelashes when they removed the fake ones. Again, after the did it, I said, "What did you do? You ripped out my real eyelashes!" And again, their only response was "No I didn't. Give me my money."I do understand that when you get extensions removed, it might look a little strange because you're used to seeing big lashes on your eyes. However, that's not what this is. I have visible bald spots in my eyelashes that were never there before and it is entirely the fault of Sun's Nails. I could see if it were an accident and they apologized, but instead, they told me I was crazy and that there was nothing wrong.It goes without saying that I will never return to this place for anything ever again. Got a shellac manicure and they effectively destroyed my nails. The tech buffed and filed my entire nail until it hurt. All the cuticle oil in the world cant fix them and now I have to wait for my nails to grow out completely.In addition, they wanted to use some no name top coat and base coat. I insisted on the cnd shellac brand for which both my nail tech and some guy standing by the polishes gave me a hard time. For the record, I am an account manager with a spa and salon supplier, so I know my stuff when it comes to all things nails. But even if I did not, they have no right to treat clients that way.Oh and no surprise, they double dip during waxing services.I do not recommend this place at all. Read Less
