I started going to Ivy Nails in 2010 when they were in the "Best of Westchester" edition of the Westchester Magazine. I am now and have been a regular since then. I like the ladies who work there, they are friendly and remember what you like and don't like. I can't make a an appointment due to my schedule but 90% of the time they will take me unless it's crazy busy. So I understand and just come back the next time it's quiet. My only complaint is that they could upgrade some of the equipment like the nail dryers or start using the tub liners for the pedicure chairs. I think that their patrons would appreciate it. I use to come here all the time and they always did a great job and always so nice. A few months ago I was the first one there when they opened. No one greeted me really and I was like hello mani and pedi please and then 3 ladies walked in that they greeted because they knew them and they took them because they had appointments so I had to wait. I was a little annoyed but they had appointments so I just waited the 20 minutes. Then a month ago I called this time to make an appointment. The following day I called to add a pedicure to my manicure and the lady that picked up was so rude, she said that I wasn't down for an appointment for tomorrow. I was like well I called yesterday and the lady said I had an appointment, then with an attitude she said well we are all booked for tomorrow evening! I was like no I called yesterday and made and appointment and you need to make this right, she then said I must have called the Ivy nails in Yonkers!! My friend took me here for a his & hers pedicure. What a treat! The owners do the actual work and they treated us very well.  My toes look & feel fabulous. I loved the callous treatment. I am on my feet constantly and had just gotten back from a Bahamas cruise where I'd abused my feet on the beach. Not in love. I liked it the first time but now that I have been there 4 times, I don't think I will go back because I feel like the pedicure is over way too fast and the "buffing" they do on my heels is lackluster at best. I think this is a ploy to get you to request the callus remover treatment (that costs an extra $10). I really don't have a problem spending money but I don't like flushing it down the toilet, so to speak, and getting their callus remover is just that. They don't give the gel time to work its way into your feet and then they scrape it off for about 15 seconds. Ummm...for an extra $10 do you think maybe you could spend some more time on the callus removing that I'm paying for? They do a good job on gel manicures but I think $35 is a bit much. I've been going to Ivy nails for several years. The women are always friendly , the place is clean, you need an appointment because they do not rush their clients once you get in the chair. I learned about this place from a saleswoman in an unrelated business. Her nails were beautifully manicured. She said that she had been going to Ivy Nails for years. Yesterday was my first experience. It was a definite hit.  I feel hopeful that I've found my forever nail salon. The shop is not super glamorous, but I dont' need that kind of salon. This place has proper modern equipment; is kept nice and clean; it's quite comfortable; and it's reasonable priced.Regarding the quality of the service: My two technicians were absolute pros. One tech did the mani (gel), and the other tech did my standard pedi. They were fastidious and the work was flawless. They took extra measures that other salons won't necessary do without being ask. I was there on a Tuesday afternoon. There was a flow of regular clients who were known by name. The parking lot is behind the building. Its great not having to hunt for metered street parking. About comments left by two previous reviewers... (1) I also admit, I nearly didn't write this review either for fear that this nail salon might get too popular. tsk tsk on me.(2) There is a funny Seinfeld Episode called "The Understudy". This is the best nail salon in Westchester county. I go here on a regular basis for spa pedicure and manicure. They do a great job for a very reasonable price! I also like the ambiance of this spa. All the ladies are nice and happy, they laugh a lot always making the customers smile. Parking tip: park in the back, it's free. If you park on the street in front of the salon then you have to feed the meter. I've been going to Ivy Nails for years. I actually came to ivy nails when my nail tech from my last salon left. She told me, if she leaves to go up the street to Ivy Nails to Joanne. I've been going to Ivy nails for over 5 years. This place definitely has the best mani/pedi in Westchester, especially for reasonable prices. They did win best in Westchester in 2012 for best priced mani/pedi! I moved over 30 miles away from this salon and religiously have an appointment with Joanne every two weeks. Most nail techs would consider me a picky customer but since Joanne is pickier then me I can guarantee my nails to be perfect every time. I always find the staff to be welcoming and nice.  They know me by first name and are always current with what is happening in my life. We have many laughs in the salon between staff and customers.  I have become friendly with other customers.   They do speak their native language in the store but I don't find it to be rude or done maliciously. If you want a consistent salon that is clean and does good quality work at a descent price then Ivy Nails is your place. Read Less

I don't know why there aren't other reviews of this place since they posted a "best of" poster in the salon. Here's the story after three weeks of travel (some in the Arizona desert and then Europe) my feet needed a good pedicure. When "Joanne" the nail technician made a fuss of how dry my feet were, she  recommended a callus pedicure. When I turned it down she spoke in her native tongue to the person in charge who in kind responded to her. I noticed that during the pedicure she made little effort to remove the dry skin on my heels.  Basically she was going to show me that without the upgrade to the callus pedicure, my feet would not look good. So I gave her a minimal tip, I am usually a very good tipper, and came home, soaked my feet and removed the calluses my technician should have.   I will never return here. And by the way, it is very rude to speak about your clients in your native tongue. Don't you know that we know what you are doing? Read Less

i've been going here since 2005. i am a regular customer and i've always had the best experience. nice people, nice atmosphere and super affordable. for those that think this place is expensive, i am shocked. the regular mani/pedi is sooo cheap for manhattan especially for hells kitchen. i've had my nails done all over the city and this place by far is the best deal with great quality. plus, i have never ever have to wait. those that live in the area know that this place rocks and if you don't agree well go somewhere else. If you want a relaxing pedicure/manicure this is not the place. The technician was a high speed dervish and didn't even bother with my heels. I didn't get the color I requested for my manicure either. If you are in a hurry and need just a polish change, then this is the place. No pleasant amenities, no great service, but it is clean. I signed up JUST to write a review about this place. Looking past the fact that its toooo overpriced, the technicians and owners harass you into tipping what they consider fair...I usually tip very well and i tip according to the service i get, but this is ridiculous. My last visit there, i decided to give them one last try as i live in the same building and it's convenient, i went in for a half arm wax...not only did she bruise me, but she also had the nerve to charge me an extra 10$ for a few stray hairs i had on my knuckles!! it took her less than 5 seconds!! The only reason I go to Ivy is for Maria's services. Whether its a manicure, pedicure or brow waxing, she's the only attendant I'll let service my needs. If she's not there, I leave. I received mediocre service from another technician, and I too, was bullied by the owner to tip more. Had I received better service, I would've tipped accordingly. Read Less

Went during the evening and as soon as I got there was greeted with smiles. Impressed by the clean, modern look of the the spacious place. The lady who did my manicure was very nice and did a great job. She also gave me a massage, which was super relaxing. When I was getting ready to head out, the man at the desk helped me put my coat while I was chatting on my cell phone. Didn't get a negative vibe at all. In fact, the reason why I came across this page was because I was looking to go there again and wanted to make sure I had the address. I was thinking of going back there to get a pedicure. Do not go to Ivy Nail and Spa. It is a clean evironment, but the owner (aka the man behind the counter) is a real piece of work. I got a mediocre pedicure (I could have done better on myself at home) and so I tipped accordingly. I gave about 10%. The owner then proceeded to hound me to give 15%, saying it was ""common sense"" and required, and wouldn't run my card until I agreed to. I finally made a big enough stink, telling him that not only is tipping NOT required, but if someone doesn't do a good job, they're lucky to get anything. I ended up not tipping at all. I will not be bullied! I brought 3 friends to the spa that day, 2 got mani/pedi, and the other one showed up later. I told her not to get a service there, and I will tell everyone else I meet. I recently got a twenty minutes back massage here. The person I did my back massage didn't know what she was doing. She kept pressing hard on my spine. And it was only HURTING. Believe me. Nice Salon. Clean and Pretty. The man at the front desk is a little unfriendly. He does welcome the guest, wouldn't hurt to smile and be friendly. Otherwise staff of woman were very kind. A little pricey $15 for a manicure. Most places in the city I've been to are less. However, close location to times sq may up the price. Read Less
