I have been going to Nassau Nails for about three years now for my pedicures.  They are always very well done, relaxing and I almost always get close to 3 weeks from them, even in the summer.  Just recently I began getting gel powder manicures from Connie.  I have a medical condition that prevents me from having any cutting or aggressive filing done.  Every single time I have an appointment with Connie she remembers without any prompting.  She runs an impeccable salon, it is immaculate, she have very low turnover of staff, the same girls have been with her for years, which indicates she runs a great business and is a good boss. I had really high expectations due to the high ratings but I was really disappointed with my experience at this nail salon... I got gel nails for the first time a few weeks prior to my first time coming to Nassau Nails. I was told that to remove gel polish you have to let it soak for a while but I didn't know that before. These ladies were in such a rush they started removing the gel polish off with this drilling tool. The lady cut my finger as she was drilling the polish off!!! I was horrified and scared I would get an infection. The lady put an anti-septic but it wouldn't stop bleeding. I told the lady to just remove the gel polish and I didn't want anything more but she kept pushing me to get a regular nail mani. I agreed since my nails looked beat up after she drilled them... She gave me a discount on the service since she gave me a cut but she should have given the whole service for free! Now my nails look horrible and unhealthy. I will never go back! They are hands down the best nail place I've been to and I've had my fair share of trial and error. The best salon around. I was advised by the aunt of my fiancee to go see Connie. Made no mistake. I got my gel mani and pedi - by four hands in the same time. Decided to give this nail salon a try (thanks to Yelp) and I must say, I am very impressed with the outcome. Besides it being 10 minutes away from where I live, I also loved the fact that this place opens early at 9 am on the weekdays/ Sunday and 8:30 am on Saturdays, perfect for those early birds like me. Connie, the one who did my nails and also the manager was very friendly, meticulous and efficient. She got me in and out in under an hour and did an excellent job on my nails. There is plenty of free street parking on the block and a parking lot across the street, which makes life so much easier when wanting to get your nails/ toes/ waxing/ facial done. I opted for the gel powder, NexGen Nails that Connie and another customer recommended, which is an alternative to acrylics that don't require drill, liquid and UV light. I requested the ombré French design and my nails to be filed to an almond nail shape, which I was skeptical at first but at the end, Connie made them look perfect. Although she nicked my cuticles a few times, 3 times to be exact and they still burn, my nails looked great so that can be overlooked. Not to mention, the salon is also very neat, clean and nicely decorated. Prices are reasonable too. It came up to $60 with tips included. I wanted to take my boyfriend for his very first pedicure and because of the reviews I picked this place. When you walk in, you are automatically greeted ! There was just a little miscommunication I wanted the Nassau Pedicure and they gave me the Mini Spa Pedicure. Which was fine because it included a 10 minute massage and hot stone ! I really love this nail salon. I was looking for a salon close to home as an alternative to the salons I frequent in Manhattan, but after my first visit it has become my primary go to. The service is very professional and friendly. The salon is immaculate and well decorated. I have transitioned from Shellac manicures to Nextgenn based on Connie's recommendation and my nails are so much healthier and there are many color and style options. After my manicure and mini spa pedicures I walk out on cloud nine, I highly recommend you give this nail salon a try. Read Less

I really love the SNS powder gel and had a great experience with those who work here. 3 weeks later my powder gel manicure has lasted minus the nail that I stubbed really hard at work (and it was only a minor chip). The decor is beautiful and you can tell it is a very high class nail salon. The prices are a bit expensive ($40 for SNS, which is between 28-35 most places) but I liked the service so it was worth the price. Definitely check out! Read Less
