I'm from out of town (Atlanta) and am in Fredonia for a job this summer. It was important to me to find a good way to use my days off and this spa seemed like just the place! After a little bit of phone tag with who I presume was the owner, I was able to successfully book two appointments on two separate days: one for a one hour luxury pedicure ($40) and one for a one hour therapeutic massage ($60). I wanted to wait to review till I had had multiple appointments there, just to gauge their consistency! Appointment #1 was for the 60 min luxury pedicure, with Jess. The appointment was in the late afternoon and I am assuming it must have been her last appointment because even though I arrived a few minutes early, I just felt a tad rushed. After the initial speediness of getting me back to the pedicure room, Jess offered me a choice of coffee, tea, or water as the water for the tub heated up. This was a lovely touch. The pedicure itself was good: it included a nice foot massage, as well as a good exfoliating scrub. Jess was sensitive to the fact that I was there for relaxation and only made small talk with me when I asked her specific questions about the area, otherwise, she left me to my book. My main qualm with the service was that I paid for an hour of service, but my toes were dried and I was out the door within 50 minutes. I would have preferred that the extra ten minutes be spent on the massage or exfoliating treatment. Appointment #2 was for a 60 min theraputic massage, with Lindsey. I was advised to arrive 15 minutes before my appointment time. If you haven't had a massage before, the request to arrive early is generally to give a few minutes of buffer time for you to talk to your therapist about specific requests and allows you to have a few minutes to undress. I arrived 15 minutes early, hoping that I might be able to enjoy a cup of coffee before my appointment, but when I got there the doors were still locked. I called twice with no answer, and then left a voice mail just checking on my appointment hoping that there hadn't been a mistake. About 5 minutes till 10:30 (my appointment time) Lindsey and JoAnn (who I think is the owner) arrived and unlocked the building. I came in and I think because they were running a bit behind, they didn't offer me anything to drink this time. That was a little bit of a bummer and made the beginning of the appointment a bit rushed, like my first appointment. I was able to undress quickly and the massage began a few minutes after 10:30, no big deal. Lindsey gave a great massage! I really enjoyed it. Again, my only qualm was the length. Since we started a few minutes after 10:30, I was hoping the massage would at least last until 11:30. This was not the case, as I was redressed, paid, and out the door at 11:15. I was disappointed that I felt skimped on time for a second time.Overall the experiences have been good and I would recommend the service. However, the staff at Inner Balance would do well to be be a bit more relaxed at the beginning of appointments; the customer is there to unwind, not be thrown into another whirlwind! They'd also improve their service by being a bit more sensitive in honoring the amount of time customers have actually paid for. Read Less
