Super disappointed with the customer service of this place. My friend comes here all the time and raves about her experience so of course I said, "I must go there"!! I booked a gel builder service with Yenny for a Saturday; her only available time slot was 6:15. I was at an event, but i had a bridal shower the next day, so i was willing to leave my event so that my nails no longer looked atrocious. Anyway, by 5:45 my phone was blowing up, it was super loud so i didn't hear the phone. Back to back phone calls and voicemails; 5 minutes later, i called them back from the bathroom. The front desk was calling to tell me that Yenny had 3 appts in front of me and was running late. I had no problem waiting and they said ok. They called back 2 minutes later to say that they needed to cancel my appt. Obviously i was peeved!! I waited awhile to get the appt and then here we are 15 minutes before it and BOOM, its cancelled. So they rescheduled to Tuesday at 5:15 with someone else. Unfortunately, and i will take ownership of this, i had to call and reschedule at 4:30pm because of work. The front desk tells me that they have to charge me the full price because that's policy. So the policy protects you, the company, but the "policy" screws over the customer. If that's the case then i should've gotten more than a 10% discount for you cancelling my appt at the last minute. I asked to speak to a manager and she said she doesn't know when the manager is coming in. You don't know when your manager is coming in??? Come on, man!! Then she said, well i'm not at liberty to say but you can keep calling till you get her. Hahaha, so basically you want me to stalk your manager until she comes to work? All she could say was, "my hands are tied, this is policy; i'm sorry". I ended up cancelling instead of rescheduling. I'm sure the service would've been awesome, but the treatment and policy was crap. Read Less

I literally came here on a whim yesterday. Fortunately Yaly made time to do a quick polish change and did an amazing job. So precise and gentle with my thin nails (thanks to another salon that used a drill on my natural nail ). I wished I lived here so I could be a regular - it's really hard to find a nail salon with great energy and service! I felt so comfortable from the time I walked in to the time I went home. Let me start off by saying I've been coming here for the past 6 months and I'm in love with my nail tech Yenny. This review is more so towards the receptionist:customer service side of the establishment.  Finally I've found a black  owned nail salon that I love and will continue to support but unfortunately they need to get a proper receptionist to represent the business. Customer Service  is everything and unfortunately that is where this business lacks.I'm very upset I just spent $63 for a gel manicure. The madness started when I was trying to contact the Lewis avenue location to let them know I was running behind due to being stuck on the train and if I should come in or just reschedule all together. I kept calling and I keep getting the receptionist at the Fulton st location and she's telling me to call the Lewis avenue location. So I say ok no problem (I'm thinking I called the wrong location by accident) no I had the correct number from the start. So then I call back and I tell her I need to ask my nail tech if I should still come in etc and she puts me on hold for over 3 mins....I hang up. I call a 3rd time no answer. I then get off the train and call back a 4th time clearly upset and irritated because I feel like I'm being played with. That's when she tells me "oh the Lewis avenue location phone doesn't work their calls are being forwarded to the Fulton location and if I can text the nail tech and let her know the issue". Ummm I don't work for the business..that's pretty random and unprofessional to be tell a paying customer but whatever.  Long story short I'm told I could only get my nails done and not my pedicure when I arrived  but I must still pay for my pedicure because I was late. After that horrible phone experience you'd think I would have been given an exception but no I had to still be charge. Keep in mind I had to cancel my previous appointment because I was told they were cash only on Wednesday via phone call and asked if I wanted to keep or reschedule my appt. I choose to reschedule to today 11/3/17. On top of being told that I had to pay for my pedicure I wasn't able to get I was then Informed that the card machine was down today and it was cash only. Why didn't anyone call me to inform me??? Luckily I had my debit card on me this time and not just my credit card. I accept the fact that I was running behind and etc but its the business responsibility to ensure a client is able to reach the establishment. Had I known this would have been the result I would have mad another appointment. I was so disappointed in the customer service I received at the nail boutique today. Of course my nails came out FAB thanks to Yenny but I'm really upset with the hassle and headache I endured along with the $63  I paid to just only get a gel mani which should have only been $35!!!  Hopefully this doesn't happen to me going forward in the future :( Read Less

Overall, this was a great family experience!  First up, a huge shout out to Yaly Hernandez and Deki Sherpa for treating my wife and I with care.Second up, this place has a small and cozy atmosphere; emphasis on small.  As mentioned in other reviews, someone with claustrophobia May consider this a nightmare.If you are willing to look past all these things, the conversation was good, the mani/pedi was great, and the appointment-making process was straightforward.  The massage option on my chair worked, so that was a bonus.  And yes, the sangrias they served was were very decent.If you prefer a roomier atmosphere, the Fulton Street location works a little better.  But this location is just fine for us, and we will be back here in the future! REALLY wanted to love this place :( Let me start off by commending the Nail Techs here. They are lovely women, who know how to carry on a conversation and keep the customer happy. I went in for a gel mani + pedi & because of my tummy (currently pregnant) the artist I had allowed me to sit in the pedicure chair while she took care of my hands. Unfortunately,. I couldn't help but feel like the shop was in despair. Literally everything was broken. All three pedicure chairs were broken so no massage option, the light in the bathroom was blown out, not to mention crusty nail polish bottles. Some of them were hard to open because of the gunk covered on them. The space itself is like a 4x4, so claustrophobics BEWARE! Theres no real space for anything. I didn't feel any sense of privacy.  The pedi chairs were pretty run down and grimy, and the towels were not fresh nor soft. They seemed like dishrags. The garbage also spilled over and on a hot steamy day, caused massive flies and nats which were a nuisance. Now this is no fault of the workers, however I do personally feel that the price does not reflect the experience you get. I've been to the Fulton Street location which is bigger, cleaner and seems like the owner puts more TLC into. So While I loved how my service was done, I can't say I would come to this location again. It needs a power wash and a few more sq. Footage. Read Less

So I wanted to like this place so much and become a regular customer but that won't be happening. My 4:45pm appointment didn't begin until 6pm. My gel fill in was rushed and sloppily done because someone else was waiting for a gel repair on their toes. Started my pedicure without completing my nail design and when it was time to complete my design the tech who did my nails started another client and it was done by a completely different tech. Design was done sloppily and normally I would speak up but after hours of being bounced around I just wanted to go home. Called today to have the design redone by the tech who did my nails. I was promised a call back to confirm coming in and got nothing. I had to call back only to be told I can be seen 2 days later by a different tech in a different location. I chose this salon because I wanted to support a black owned business and people I know gave it great reviews. Unfortunately my experience didn't live up to the hype. I love the Nail Boutique!! I started coming here when they first opened this location and the girls are like family to me now. My nail tech is Yenny, and I absolutely adore her. She's such a perfectionist and always makes sure my nails are done to flawlessly. She's also amazing when it comes to doing the crazy designs that I bring in. I look forward to getting my nails done every 2-3 weeks. I get my wine, spill some tea with the girls, and it's like my therapy!! Read Less

I really wanted to give this location 3 stars but I can't. And here's why..The nail specialists are great! They are fun and lively! They have great personalities and they really do everything they can to make sure you have a great experience. They make up for all of the annoyances. However, how can they properly do their job if they don't have the proper tools? They ran out of towels so they had to use paper towels for mani/pedis. They ran out of heavily desired nail polishes in the salon even though one nail tech specifically sent a list to the owner that expressed the need for the polishes. Also, one of the gel nail drying machines didn't work, so they had to share 1 machine across 3 clients. It was just too much to bear in one visit.Let me be clear, NONE of this is the fault of the nail technicians. That's why I couldn't give it 3 stars. The girls that work there don't deserve a 3 star rating. I blame this inconveniences solely on the owner. I understand the Clinton Hill location so maybe thats where the owner is focusing their attention.Will I return? Probably. Simply because it is so close to my house and it's appointment only which means I'm not waiting around to be serviced. But there needs to be some serious attention to this location for me to remaining a ongoing client. Read Less

We made an appointment for our Girls campers to have a spa day with a black owned nail salon and the manager was very unprofessional...We made arrangements for some of our girls to get pedicures and manicures but when we arrived they told us the girls couldn't get the pedicures..they were very disappointed ..who would do such a thing to little girls, ages 5 -12..SMH.. we understand is tough to run a business especially being black..however, I also know that you have to humble yourself wit good karma as a business owner...kodos for having a black owned business..but thumbs down for how you treated your supporting little sisters... I went to the nail boutique yesterday with a friend hoping to get my nails done for my birthday. We went there after work because we thought it was a location that open late (we later found out it is the location on Fulton that is opened later). I walked in around 8pm and a lady with short hair sitting at the desk was talking to another lady standing. I assume I had interrupted their conversation because they both stopped and stared blankly back at my friend and I. It took me off guard that neither of them greeted me upon entering so I said hello first and preceded to talk to avoid the awkward stare off. AFTER I asked about getting a manicure and pedicure for my friend and I, then the lady at the desk informs me that the shop is now closed and they took their last customer at 8pm.My questions are why wouldn't you greet me upon entering and inform me that the place is closed? What else would I be walking in to a nail boutique to do?! Admire the stain glass windows?!?! What made it worst is that you didn't even let me know what services you DO offer or ask "HOW MAY I HELP YOU??" I guess you assume that everyone who walks in should already know what they want. It's my first time coming to this place and if you want to attract new clientele, first impressions are important.  In the end I was handed a card and told to try the next location but I was no longer interested. If I could give 0 stars I would I put up with there Unprofessionalism for quite some time for no other reason then them being the nearest nail salon however that was a mistake! I've wasted way too much money on horrible customer service! Every time I'm there I wait at least 30 minutes usually more the nails are only subpar and there attitudes are even worse I'm done I will more than gladly be spending my hard earned money elsewhere! Today was my 1st time going & I will certainly be back!I didn't have an appointment, but they were able to squeeze me in on Mothers Day. The place is quaint & clean. Everyone seems friendly & they offer mimosas (I couldn't drink today unfortunately)! I was super impressed she knew immediately that I don't cut my cuticles; I generally always have to fight with a technician about that, but not this time. I told her I needed a fill-in n she told me they had two nail tech available yet they had to take their appointments first n she will work something out. First time visiting and once again didn't know I needed an appointment. I waited for 3 hours left angry and annoyed without my nails being d...one. The woman at the front desk told me she would work something out so I could get my nails done. So I was under the impression I was going to be seen. After two people were late for their appointments one of the techs wanted to take me but she told them their appointments are running late. One thing I will admit she did call the customers to see if they were going to keep their appointments but never updated me. I finally got up to leave after my three hour wait she then decided to ask me if I was thirsty!!!!!! After ignoring me, I guess I looked thirsty. I just left n couldn't wait to write this review. The girl at the front desk stayed on the phone n didn't have the best customer service. I'm guessing that's because she was stating they need to hire someone for the front desk. I am giving it a 4 star because I really did like going to get my nails done here. I now don't like it anymore since I was informed in a call one day that because I had cancelled several times I could not make an appointment. It's funny because I cancelled because I am a working full time mom and grand mother and if I could not make an appointment I would call to cancel. I was a very loyal customer and would tell all my family and friends about the Nail Boutique even when I would have to sit and wait to be serviced and never complained. I unfortunate will not go to this nail salon again and they lost a loyal client. Read Less

Ah, the Nail Boutique. I arrived here last Friday for a French gel manicure with Yaly. This salon's location is small and quite claustrophobic. The location on Fulton street is far more spacious. It's literally a hole in the wall. There's barely any space to have a pedicure or a manicure. When I mean that you have to wait, you definitely do need to wait.The woman who did my manicure was Yaly. She's nice, but I do think that she should improve on her customer service skills a little bit more. She seemed irritated, annoyed and impatient. I understand that the salon overbooks, so I sympathize with her on that. She did a pretty good job, but I believe that I wanted Gloria to do my manicure as she's the only one who does my nails well every time I go and see her. I do love Pinot Grigio. I was served some while waiting to do my mani. I am still in support of black owned nail salons, so yes I would be frequenting the Nail Boutique, but I would skip on this location. It's farther from the train station and it's too impersonal for me in my honest opinion. Fulton street's location is far better in my opinion and I love how much space and the plethora of nail polish to choose from.Update: two weeks past my appointment date, my gel extension ripped my entire nail off. I'm so upset because I never wear fake nails. Never again will I come here. I knew it was a big mistake! Read Less

4.5 This is the only salon I go to because I patronize black owned salons. I always request Yaly because she does her job well, doesn't rush me, and is gentle with my feet (so important to me!). Everyone in the salon is always hospitable to me. I must note 3 things: 1. It's way smaller than the first location (I literally only come to this one because of Yaly) 2. The flies! Something has gotta give dammit! These things act like they're ready to give you a mani and pedi too! (Had to take .5 away for that) 3. Call on Sunday or Tuesday if you want an appointment for the following Fri/Sat/Sun. Otherwise good luck. Most things are more pricey here, which I expected, but I'm willing to pay more for good service and what seems like better paid nail technicians. The boutique mani/pedi is only $30, if that better fits your budget. Read Less

Super disappointed with the customer service of this place. My friend comes here all the time and raves about her experience so of course I said, "I must go there"!! I booked a gel builder service with Yenny for a Saturday; her only available time slot was 6:15. I was at an event, but i had a bridal shower the next day, so i was willing to leave my event so that my nails no longer looked atrocious. Anyway, by 5:45 my phone was blowing up, it was super loud so i didn't hear the phone. Back to back phone calls and voicemails; 5 minutes later, i called them back from the bathroom. The front desk was calling to tell me that Yenny had 3 appts in front of me and was running late. I had no problem waiting and they said ok. They called back 2 minutes later to say that they needed to cancel my appt. Obviously i was peeved!! I waited awhile to get the appt and then here we are 15 minutes before it and BOOM, its cancelled. So they rescheduled to Tuesday at 5:15 with someone else. Unfortunately, and i will take ownership of this, i had to call and reschedule at 4:30pm because of work. The front desk tells me that they have to charge me the full price because that's policy. So the policy protects you, the company, but the "policy" screws over the customer. If that's the case then i should've gotten more than a 10% discount for you cancelling my appt at the last minute. I asked to speak to a manager and she said she doesn't know when the manager is coming in. You don't know when your manager is coming in??? Come on, man!! Then she said, well i'm not at liberty to say but you can keep calling till you get her. Hahaha, so basically you want me to stalk your manager until she comes to work? All she could say was, "my hands are tied, this is policy; i'm sorry". I ended up cancelling instead of rescheduling. Let me start off by saying I've been coming here for the past 6 months and I'm in love with my nail tech Yenny. This review is more so towards the receptionist:customer service side of the establishment.  Finally I've found a black  owned nail salon that I love and will continue to support but unfortunately they need to get a proper receptionist to represent the business. Customer Service  is everything and unfortunately that is where this business lacks.I'm very upset I just spent $63 for a gel manicure. The madness started when I was trying to contact the Lewis avenue location to let them know I was running behind due to being stuck on the train and if I should come in or just reschedule all together. I kept calling and I keep getting the receptionist at the Fulton st location and she's telling me to call the Lewis avenue location. So I say ok no problem (I'm thinking I called the wrong location by accident) no I had the correct number from the start. So then I call back and I tell her I need to ask my nail tech if I should still come in etc and she puts me on hold for over 3 mins....I hang up. I call a 3rd time no answer. I then get off the train and call back a 4th time clearly upset and irritated because I feel like I'm being played with. That's when she tells me "oh the Lewis avenue location phone doesn't work their calls are being forwarded to the Fulton location and if I can text the nail tech and let her know the issue". Ummm I don't work for the business..that's pretty random and unprofessional to be tell a paying customer but whatever.  Long story short I'm told I could only get my nails done and not my pedicure when I arrived  but I must still pay for my pedicure because I was late. After that horrible phone experience you'd think I would have been given an exception but no I had to still be charge. Keep in mind I had to cancel my previous appointment because I was told they were cash only on Wednesday via phone call and asked if I wanted to keep or reschedule my appt. I choose to reschedule to today 11/3/17. On top of being told that I had to pay for my pedicure I wasn't able to get I was then Informed that the card machine was down today and it was cash only. Why didn't anyone call me to inform me??? Luckily I had my debit card on me this time and not just my credit card. I accept the fact that I was running behind and etc but its the business responsibility to ensure a client is able to reach the establishment. Had I known this would have been the result I would have mad another appointment. I was so disappointed in the customer service I received at the nail boutique today. Of course my nails came out FAB thanks to Yenny but I'm really upset with the hassle and headache I endured along with the $63  I paid to just only get a gel mani which should have only been $35!!!  Hopefully this doesn't happen to me going forward in the future :( Read Less

Overall, this was a great family experience!  First up, a huge shout out to Yaly Hernandez and Deki Sherpa for treating my wife and I with care.Second up, this place has a small and cozy atmosphere; emphasis on small.  As mentioned in other reviews, someone with claustrophobia May consider this a nightmare.If you are willing to look past all these things, the conversation was good, the mani/pedi was great, and the appointment-making process was straightforward.  The massage option on my chair worked, so that was a bonus.  And yes, the sangrias they served was were very decent.If you prefer a roomier atmosphere, the Fulton Street location works a little better.  But this location is just fine for us, and we will be back here in the future! REALLY wanted to love this place :( Let me start off by commending the Nail Techs here. They are lovely women, who know how to carry on a conversation and keep the customer happy. I went in for a gel mani + pedi & because of my tummy (currently pregnant) the artist I had allowed me to sit in the pedicure chair while she took care of my hands. Unfortunately,. I couldn't help but feel like the shop was in despair. Literally everything was broken. All three pedicure chairs were broken so no massage option, the light in the bathroom was blown out, not to mention crusty nail polish bottles. Some of them were hard to open because of the gunk covered on them. The space itself is like a 4x4, so claustrophobics BEWARE! Theres no real space for anything. I didn't feel any sense of privacy.  The pedi chairs were pretty run down and grimy, and the towels were not fresh nor soft. They seemed like dishrags. The garbage also spilled over and on a hot steamy day, caused massive flies and nats which were a nuisance. Now this is no fault of the workers, however I do personally feel that the price does not reflect the experience you get. I've been to the Fulton Street location which is bigger, cleaner and seems like the owner puts more TLC into. So While I loved how my service was done, I can't say I would come to this location again. It needs a power wash and a few more sq. Footage. Read Less

My gel fill in was rushed and sloppily done because someone else was waiting for a gel repair on their toes. Started my pedicure without completing my nail design and when it was time to complete my design the tech who did my nails started another client and it was done by a completely different tech. Design was done sloppily and normally I would speak up but after hours of being bounced around I just wanted to go home. Called today to have the design redone by the tech who did my nails. I was promised a call back to confirm coming in and got nothing. I had to call back only to be told I can be seen 2 days later by a different tech in a different location. I chose this salon because I wanted to support a black owned business and people I know gave it great reviews. Unfortunately my experience didn't live up to the hype. I really wanted to give this location 3 stars but I can't. And here's why..The nail specialists are great! They are fun and lively! They have great personalities and they really do everything they can to make sure you have a great experience. They make up for all of the annoyances. However, how can they properly do their job if they don't have the proper tools? They ran out of towels so they had to use paper towels for mani/pedis. They ran out of heavily desired nail polishes in the salon even though one nail tech specifically sent a list to the owner that expressed the need for the polishes. Also, one of the gel nail drying machines didn't work, so they had to share 1 machine across 3 clients. It was just too much to bear in one visit.Let me be clear, NONE of this is the fault of the nail technicians. That's why I couldn't give it 3 stars. The girls that work there don't deserve a 3 star rating. I blame this inconveniences solely on the owner. I understand the Clinton Hill location so maybe thats where the owner is focusing their attention.Will I return? Probably. Simply because it is so close to my house and it's appointment only which means I'm not waiting around to be serviced. I went to the nail boutique yesterday with a friend hoping to get my nails done for my birthday. We went there after work because we thought it was a location that open late (we later found out it is the location on Fulton that is opened later). I walked in around 8pm and a lady with short hair sitting at the desk was talking to another lady standing. I assume I had interrupted their conversation because they both stopped and stared blankly back at my friend and I. It took me off guard that neither of them greeted me upon entering so I said hello first and preceded to talk to avoid the awkward stare off. AFTER I asked about getting a manicure and pedicure for my friend and I, then the lady at the desk informs me that the shop is now closed and they took their last customer at 8pm.My questions are why wouldn't you greet me upon entering and inform me that the place is closed? What else would I be walking in to a nail boutique to do?! Admire the stain glass windows?!?! What made it worst is that you didn't even let me know what services you DO offer or ask "HOW MAY I HELP YOU??" I guess you assume that everyone who walks in should already know what they want. It's my first time coming to this place and if you want to attract new clientele, first impressions are important.  In the end I was handed a card and told to try the next location but I was no longer interested. It's funny because I cancelled because I am a working full time mom and grand mother and if I could not make an appointment I would call to cancel. I was a very loyal customer and would tell all my family and friends about the Nail Boutique even when I would have to sit and wait to be serviced and never complained. Ah, the Nail Boutique. I arrived here last Friday for a French gel manicure with Yaly. This salon's location is small and quite claustrophobic. The location on Fulton street is far more spacious. It's literally a hole in the wall. There's barely any space to have a pedicure or a manicure. When I mean that you have to wait, you definitely do need to wait.The woman who did my manicure was Yaly. She's nice, but I do think that she should improve on her customer service skills a little bit more. She seemed irritated, annoyed and impatient. I understand that the salon overbooks, so I sympathize with her on that. She did a pretty good job, but I believe that I wanted Gloria to do my manicure as she's the only one who does my nails well every time I go and see her. I do love Pinot Grigio. I was served some while waiting to do my mani. I am still in support of black owned nail salons, so yes I would be frequenting the Nail Boutique, but I would skip on this location. It's farther from the train station and it's too impersonal for me in my honest opinion. Fulton street's location is far better in my opinion and I love how much space and the plethora of nail polish to choose from.Update: two weeks past my appointment date, my gel extension ripped my entire nail off. I'm so upset because I never wear fake nails. Never again will I come here. I knew it was a big mistake! Read Less

4.5 This is the only salon I go to because I patronize black owned salons. I always request Yaly because she does her job well, doesn't rush me, and is gentle with my feet (so important to me!). Everyone in the salon is always hospitable to me. I must note 3 things: 1. It's way smaller than the first location (I literally only come to this one because of Yaly) 2. The flies! Something has gotta give dammit! These things act like they're ready to give you a mani and pedi too! (Had to take .5 away for that) 3. Call on Sunday or Tuesday if you want an appointment for the following Fri/Sat/Sun. Otherwise good luck. Most things are more pricey here, which I expected, but I'm willing to pay more for good service and what seems like better paid nail technicians. The boutique mani/pedi is only $30, if that better fits your budget. Read Less
