Loved this place! I was looking for a go to nails salon who's gnna take care of me. I don't mind paying for good treatment and service. The price is more than I'm use to but again I want to pay for the extra treatment. Very neat clean and organize nail shop. Workers are very polite and patient. I've been here a couple times, for my feet it takes about a hour and 15 minutes(paraffin and hot stone massage included) and I love that. I'm so use to other salons finishing PLEASE take your time lol! Nails almost a hour and half. For some reason and this is for my 3 stars is, my nails has broke every time I got my nails done. 1 week or two weeks one or two nails break and the crazy thing is I never know when. I would just look at my hand and I'll see a nail broken. Bummer i know my ladies hate to go back to the nail salon for a broken nail or nails.  For some reason this happens to me but this salon is great everywhere else. This salon takes the cake. Haven't gotten regular manicures in years, up until I found this place. Service is great, they are thorough, and prices are fair/city prices. I have had great experiences here. They take a while to do your nails/toes sometimes but it's generally to be thorough and well worth the time spent!! Read Less

I went to Nail on 5th based on the Yelp recommendations and I am glad I did! I went as a walk-in and got in easily, but be warned, the place filled up fast and there wound up being a long wait so call in advance. The salon is very clean, reasonably priced and they do a great job. Read Less

Nail on 5th is my go to salon now. Today I was a first time customer. My toes had 6-month old polish on them and needed some major TLC. I found NO5 on Yelp and stopped in. The pedicurist greeted me after I found a winter color and led me to an open massage chair. What a wonderful pedicure I had. She took her time in evening out my nails and removing my cuticles. The warm water was the perfect temperature. Then the warm towel came out and I wanted to keep my freshly cut toes in the warm of it forever. I thought the fun was over. I get a full foot scrubbing that makes my feet shiny and new. Then out comes a warm stone that the pedicurist gently massaged on my feet and soles. It was so incredibly relaxing that I practically shut my eyes to enjoy it while it lasted. Oh you thought the pedicure was over now? Out comes a warm bag of parrafin (sp?) that is gently wrapped onto my heels to smooth and warm them before the nail polish comes out. Overall I was thrilled with my experience here today. It was a very calming and not rushed at all like many salons are. My overdue toes were given independent attention. The polish job was done very well and the length of my nails just how I wanted. I enjoyed the music videos on the wall as others have mentioned. It gives life to the music. The decor and lighting are soft and feminine in NO5. Everything is sterilized and carefully cleaned. I cannot say enough great things about this place. I've been going here for gel manicures since they opened last summer. My natural nails have never been more healthy, strong, and long.I've tried so many places in the neighborhood; Posh, Vivi, Dolphins spa...every one of them over filed my nails, leaving them thin and brittle. I've gotten infections and even some fungus at the other places. Do not go to them!This place files the nails dry, which is how your suppose to do it. They never use a drumel on your natural nail, the polish never chips (even with your hands in water all day like me) and the prices are extremely reasonable. I've traveled really far to try and find a good nail salon and I think I found it! When first walking in I was welcomed warmly and the place is absolutely beautiful. They sat me down right away and got started. There is a huge color selection and they don't rush you either. (That's been a big problem for me). She really took her time and kept asking me if I was happy with the way it was turning out. I got a UV gel full set and my eyebrows waxed and I couldn't be any happier! Full price was $65 which really isn't bad when you look at the overall ambience of the place. I definitely was expecting to pay more. Great place for a pedicure. I didn't get a manicure here so I can not review it. I made an appointment came a few minutes and was seated without any wait. The salon is very clean and modern. Their color selection is amazing I was able all the in colors for the season and make a selections. The girl that did my pedicure was great. Really best pedicure I have gotten in a long time and for $20 it's a fair price for the neighborhood. Well worth the money. I'm a huge fan. I was going to the same nail salon for about 10 years and most recently I switched over to nails on 5th and it was the best decision EVER. For a $20 pedicure your getting the works, massage, hot stone, paraffin on the heels. It's simply awesome and worth every penny. Massaging chairs that have a USB to charge your phone and super sanitary technique. $5 extra for French.I usually get a gel manicure which comes out fabulous. It's $30 and $5 extra for French design. They use a scrub on your hand to make it smoother and wash it before they polish. I don't request anybody in particular to do my nails because everyone is really good and experienced.Clean facility, cash and credit accepted but they charge tax or fees on credit card not sure. Came here expecting the best mani/pedi ever considering the great reviews but turned out to be a let down. Staff is super friendly and the place is nice, new and clean but they don't thoroughly cut your cuticles. For the price I definitely expected more. These are the same owners of viví nail right across the street. I love it here simply because it's brand new, chic, cute & comfortable. They have a large selection of nail colors both regular and gel. You can even match a regular nail color to a gel mani or pedi! Be prepared to pay "park slope" prices.. you won't get a filling here for $16 bucks that's for sure. It's worth it though and they treat you great here! Read Less

I was very disappointed by my experience here. I went last night with my husband for pedicures. We walked in and were told it would be 30 minutes. Not a problem, they were busy and we didn't make an appointment! But it was 50 minutes before the service started, which if we had know we just would have come back another day. The pedicure itself wasn't bad. The woman I had didn't do a great job shaping my toenails, and I had to do a little work on them myself when I went home because the sloping angle of the nail on my big toe was driving me crazy! Today I decided I'd head in for a manicure and I ended up with the same lady. Maybe it's just her and not everyone, but she did the absolute worst job filing and shaping my nails I've ever received for a manicure. I could have done a better job myself and for free! Maybe they do good work if you want tips or fancy work done, but this woman couldn't manage a simple manicure, so they doesn't give me a whole lot of faith. Each one of my nails is a different shape and don't even get me started on my thumbs (they are sloping diagonally in opposite directions)!! Also the color is not evenly applied and there is a weird layer at the bottom of most of my nails where I guess she didn't apply top coat all the way? She held my hands up in the air and towards her as she worked so I couldn't really see what she was doing or say anything about the shaping of my nails or the poor paint job until it was time to dry them, at which point I just wanted to get out of there. The best part is this is the level of quality I got after giving her a $9 tip for an $11 manicure. Yep, I gave her over 80% as tip and she didn't even say thank you, all she said when I gave her a twenty and told her to keep the rest was "oh, okay." Maybe other folks who work there are better, but my experience wasn't great. The two stars are for the place itself as it is very clean and nice. Ridiculously impressed with the level of service not to mention the price of a Regular Pedicure. Almost an hour of relaxation and special attention to my toesies! For 20.? I am a fan. They have a variety of colors from Zoya, Essie and OPI. The pedicure process started with the usual removing old polish, soaking feet, cuticle removal, filing. Afterwards, they get a hot towel and put it over your feet, that feels amazing. A gentle leg massage,  after she put a little bag with an oil treatment around my heel. Proceeding with a gentle hot stone massage. And rinsed. Put my sandals on and began perfectly polishing.  At some point I even thought maybe they don't do regular pedicures only spa pedicures considering how beautiful and upper scale the salon looks. But nope, as I was drying my nails she comes and tells me my bill is $20. Blown away. Can't wait to come back. This was a def spa treatment regardless what you decide to go for! Read Less

This place is very clean and modern looking! They use liners, fresh tools, and the price is reasonable at 20 bucks per pedicure. I could appreciate that! However, they charge 5.00 extra for Zoya polishes, which is excessive. I mean turn a profit, but be reasonable. In addition,  as I went to try the color of the Zoya polish on my nail, the guy working there (must have had an interest in the ownership or at least I would like to think so based on his reaction) almost tackled me. He said he had samples made up of the colors and basically told me not to do that. I tested some of the lower scale brands prior and he didn't say anything. I mean just a turn off. Don't be that cheap, be smart! Be a smart business owner. I probably would have opted to pay the 5 bucks to maintain a nice clean white nail bed. Some of those chemically ridden polishes will turn your nails yellow. After that experience, just wanted to get away from him. I just went with one of the other polishes and was kinda over this place at that point. Then the polish job was kinda sloppy and the pedicure overall felt rushed. Not my best pedicure experience. I rather Latoue, which charges me an extra 9 bucks,  but throws in a 10 minute massage. Other places provide Zoya polish with no additional charge extra. I gave this place 3 stars for the amenities, but wasn't vibing with this place as when I go for a pedicure, I want relaxation, not aggravation! Read Less

Ok so I love this place!! It's so hard to find a good nail salon in NYC...let me start with some suggestions because I hope you guys read this. I would love a rewards program because I am a regular customer. Paraffin wax for hands would be awesome. Name tags are helpful. What an AMAZING experience! I was greeted when I entered the salon. The decor is chic and contemporary and I love the white walls and white furniture throughout the salon. I sent a message via Yellow requesting an appointment and within an hour, I received a reply and a confirmation. May was my nail technician who did an excellent job with my pedicure. My feet feel so refreshed and pampered. I love the fact that she took her time with my feet and I didn't feel as if it was being rushed. She asked how was I doing which was really nice. She asked if I would like to receive a 10 min foot  massage which would be an extra ten dollars and I replied yes. She used a timer to set the time, she put paraffin wax on my feet while she massaged my legs and feet with her hands and hot stones after using an exfoliating cream.....PEDI-HEAVEN!!!!!!! The mere fact that you get all of the above for about $30 is a bargain. The pedicure is $19.99 and worth every dollar bill. I'm pleasantly pleased that my experience was great and it was exactly how previous Yelpers had describe as well. I will be back sooner than later to patronize this salon. Read Less

Since I recently relocated to the area from Ohio, it had (sadly) been many months since my war torn feet and hands were treated to a little TLC. Opened about 2 months ago. Staff are all very nice. Everything seems very sterile and clean. Decor looks great. Loved my manicurist. Her name was JOEY, and she is very meticulous and precise with the nail art I was requesting. Shes a bit gentle but she spent a lot if time catering to my needs I felt so bad cause I changed my mind a few times but she was still very patient and accommodating. Pedicure is $20 and it comes with a hot stone massage. Gel manicure is $30. Design for 2 fingers was $6 and the entire hand was $10. They don't rush you here even though it does get super busy starting after 5pm or so. The boss man is very nice as well. He's at the front directing all customers and also does nails himself. Needless to say, I've been to several nail salons over my lifetime, and Joeys my favorite gal thus far. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5. While I think the decor is set up nicely and the nail parlor was innovative, I didn't enjoy that style of seating because I'm short and my legs were dangling down uncomfortably, and my arms were uncomfortable at some times. The design of the salon makes you feel like you are walking into a spa, which adds to the allure of the place. The pedicure tubs are covered with a clear plastic cover that they change with each client, so each client has an impeccably clean whirlpool tub to put their feet into.  There are two huge flat screen TV's that either play movies or music videos.  The music videos are fun because other than coming here I'm never up to speed on music videos the way I use to be when MTV actually played them.  I've added several photos.  There are several nail salons within a 6 block radius of this place, but nothing compares to Nail on 5th. The prices are definitely competitive for manicure and pedicure. Manicure & Pedicure together $30; Pedicure only $20; Manicure only $11 and Gel manicure $30.  Definitely reasonable and they do not make you feel rushed.  They take their time on you because let's face it a mani/pedi should fee like a mini spa treatment experience.  I highly recommend the place. This place is amazing - so clean and brand spankin' new. They have outlets to charge your phone, hooks underneath the nail bar to hang your bag or coat. I have only gotten manicures so far but the people that have done my nails took their time and were not rushed. They open all of the supplies in front of you and it is very clean. After having two nice experiences I am thinking this is going to be my regular place.  I went somewhere else on 5th ave. religiously that was very cheap but I realized it was not that sanitary. I finally found my favorite nail salon!I saw this nail salon and was quickly at awe. I went in one day for just a manicure Just to test them out and I was so impressed. They were all so professional and took pride in their work. There was no rush and crappy job and they do so much extra from your typical nail salon. All their furnishings was modern and clean. They even have a USB outlet to charge your phone while you're getting your manicure at the table! Everything is sanitary and well kept. I loved them so much I came back the following week for a gel manicure that lasted and stood in tact for my 2 week over seas vacation. I will continue to come back and can't wait to. Read Less

I have always been looking for the right nail salon within my neighborhood and I finally found one. They are extremely clean with a more modern look. The person who did my nails was Junie and she did an amazing job. She payed attention to even the smallest details and made sure I liked the shape and structure of my nails. I wish I can give this place more than 5 stars! The reason I love this place so much is because they really take the time to do your nails and pedi's. I normally go to the guy Jun I believe is his name and he is the reason I go back! The pedicures are amazing they include  hot stone and they also put some oil for your heel which makes them super soft. I wish I could give it zero stars, but sadly I cannot. NEVER go to this place for waxing or anything else for that matter. I told the woman who was waxing my chin that I was allergic to alcohol, so to please not use any products with alcohol in it. She began the waxing and I told her that I felt a burning sensation. Afterwards, she cleaned my chin with the same olive oil she used before the waxing. The oil has alcohol in it and she burned my chin so badly that the skin fell off. I went to them twice to show them my face and all the makeup product I have to put to slightly cover it up. Management offered me a pedicure and when I refused he kept trying to convince me to return back and that this would never happen again. I declined the invitation and had to insist on at least being reimbursed the $6.99 I paid. Worst experience I've ever had. Read Less
