Alright Yelp this review is coming from my wife's perspective.  She went for a last minute blowout this evening and wanted to share her experience:Upon entry it was obvious something wasn't right..   the lady who normally washes hair wasn't there and the receptionist ended up filling in..  im all for improvising when necessary but this woman was clearly bothered by me and it reflected in her work..  (very fast wash with no detangling or any effort)The next woman who was in charge of blowing my hair had a tough time because it wasn't detangled and had to correct the receptionist's work before beginning.  Although she honesty seemed to take pride in her craft, her blow dryer was not of professional caliber and my hair came out frizzy.  To better put it into perspective, I had to wash and reblow my hair when I got home.  This defeats the entire purpose of paying money to pamper myself and escape from a tiresome task.  To all the other Latinas out there - don't let the nice lights and fresh paint attract you.  I guarantee your trusted Dominican salon isn't watered down and actually holds itself to a standard Read Less

Horrible salon owner knows nothing about hair & is not a hair stylist. Does not even own her own cosmetology license. I’ve you are looking for a job this is not for you. For hourly is only offering 9.00$ an hour with a cosmetology license, which is not worth fighting for . You make more money working in mc Donald’s . New York Blowout has the atmosphere of Manhattan but located in the Bronx. There service prices are affordable, and best of all its by appointment and I couldn’t be happier with this rule. I had my first appointment in September without any prior referral took a leap of faith and it’s turned out to be the best decision I’ve made. Edwin my stylist is a genius and a hair GOD!! I explained what I wanted to accomplish and he did not give me a usual “yes you can look just like the person in the picture”. He told me exactly what I needed to do in order to get to the level of the person in the picture. The end result is I’m on my 4th visit and already feel great about my hair color and style. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Every stylist does an amazing job and I always leave this place feeling gorgeous. The pricing is extremely reasonable and they're quick because they all know exactly what they're doing. I actually got my hair cut here after a few blowouts and it's the best cut I've had in years. I couldn't reach my regular hair lady and called for a last minute appointment. Both ladies there were kind, welcoming and fun. There's not a long wait as the regulars make appointment and it's a beautiful space. The pricing is very reasonable and it's rather quick. I have curly hair that usually gets frizzy if it's not blow dried properly so I am a tough critic. Highly recommend. Read Less

I must preface this review with the admission that I have repeatedly had horrible experiences getting blowouts in Nyc. Sooo making the choice to visit Blowout New York was a little nerve wrecking for me, but I liked their website and realizing that they were like 5 minutes away from my house calmed my nerves. I came in on a Wednesday at around 5 pm and was told that they had appointments already for 5 but that I could come back at 6:15 pm. I agreed and booked an appointment for the BEST blowout experience I have ever had in life!! I have 4b natural hair and was looking for my hair to be as straight as possible. Gessy exceeded my expectations! I received a wash, deep condition and blowout on my hair even though I had a partial sew in! Gessy blended my hair perfectly and I have never seen my hair look so healthy and straight. Three days later and my blowout is still holding up beautifully, which usually by now I would have had problems with revision. I am sold with this place!
