I really hate leaving a low rating on places but I am so disappointed with this place. I usually never have an issue but the one time I want to come with my daughter to get her a manicure for the first time I get turned away bc it was “too busy” and I didn’t have an “appointment “. Mind you there was no one waiting to get their nails done I was the only one waiting and it was 3 in the afternoon. What irritated me the most was the fact that I was sitting there for 20 minutes before I was even asked what I wanted and then after I tell the girl all I wanted was a manicure for me and my little girl, she left for 10 minutes and then came back to tell me I had to leave. Amazing amazing amazing! I got a pretty dramatic cut a few weeks ago and it's held up so beautifully. No one has ever cut my hair well since it's curly, but these guys really know what they're doing. It was my first time going there & I had Lola dye my hair, give me blonde highlights, cut layers, and blow dry my hair. She did an amazing job!! I highly recommend her. She did all she could to my hair without damaging it, she was very honest, & she really took her time with me. Good conversation, made me feel comfortable, & you could see her she's great to work with. The pricing was a bit high, but I did need to get a lot done, so it was completely worth it! The salon is clean & beautiful, music was good, the woman who washed my hair was wonderful & didn't leave my scalp scratched or bruised like some other places. Highly do not recommend going here horrible service is very poor. First didn't even  wash my hair good and then had me waiting 40 mins just to blow it out and didn't even do a good go job at doing it thought it was a professional place. I could do this to my own hair no reason for me to have to beg the hair dresser to  put a little curl in my hair and some products to protect my hair and then still having to go home and do it my self and still  have it come out puffy with in minutes don't waste your time goin here it's a big waste. I've had my hair done by Alex the owner of the salon, as well as the blonde curly haired lady and recently by Nicholaus. Each time, they always leave my hair filled with life after each cut. To say I love my hair cut is an understatement! Thank you, Nicholaus! They recently moved to a bigger location and the staff as usual is so nice. If you are in need of a good haircut, try this salon! You will not regret it  I'll be back in December for my trim My hair is on the fine to medium side and the one hair cut style I love no one can get right Bc of my hair texture. Nicholaus and the rest of the Alex staff, however, always give me exactly what I want! Now I have cascading layers that give my hair so much body and bounce. What a hair salon! I have to say I give a lot of respect to the owner Alex because client satisfaction is very important to him. He has a beautiful place for hair and a back room for nails and pedicure/manicures. Both my mother and grandma go to his salon and I must say he did a beautiful job renovating his place. What a disaster!!!!  I went to get a gel manicure and walked out unfinished. They didn't communicate to me how long the wait would be and as I'm sitting there, nails soaking, a lady who's daughter was getting a pedicure walks in and gets attended before me.  Apparently there's only one person that does filling so I had to wait for the other girls to finish. Which is now 30 minutes later.  As the workers finish up the pedicures they were doing, the customers now sit down to get manicures done. Excellence, My girlfriend initially went there for eyebrow micro blading then she went back to get a touch up on her platinum blonde Lola did an amazing job. so I decided to try her out. I have tried many places and I am very skeptical. My hair is blonde and I have some damage but didn't want to lose the length of my hair I must say she did an excellent job touched up my roots and overall trim my hair and left me with length she is very professional and very welcoming I would recommend her to anyone was looking for A true hair specialist. The only complaint I have is they need to develop a price list I notice they would charge people depending on the relationship not necessarily the work that was being done on individual. Did brow microblading. He barely placed numbing cream. Did not listen to the shade I wanted and instead gave me darker and worse, his technique is completely wrong! DISCONTENTED AND ANGRY... this person is doing brow Microblading with no knowledge. I had it done so, he made such deep cuts that harmed my skin and left me scared and hurt, i had a professional look at them and i was told they were too deep, they were wounds!!! And NOT microblading which is supossed to be feather like strokes and not deep as well as in the direction of the existing  brow hair and not HORIZONTAL LONG LINES!. The ink is botched. Now i have to heal and wait to see if theres any chances of fixing it or even getting any normality out of this. The expert told me a minimum of 8 months to see if possible to fix and worse to even consider if the skin which is scared can withstand it. Read Less

I've been going here for about 3 months on the recommendation of a friend and I think the salon is fantastic ! My favorite nail tech is Maggie she creates anything you want (show her a pictures and she will do it) I have had my nails done by the other ladies and their good but Maggie is the best! I also had my hair cut here about two months ago by I believe Valentina and she was amazing the cut was perfect. I chose to go to this hair salon for a wash, cut, and style based on the reviews I found online. I haven't had a hair cut in several years so finding the right hair salon was a big deal to me. The staff came off very nice and friendly when I walked in. I didn't realize the hair stylist on duty for that day hardly spoke English (Hispanic woman). I told her I wanted my hair cut at an angle, and I think she pretended to understand because she cut my hair straight across and did not do what I asked. I told her I wanted layers, and the layers she cut do not blend well at all. Again, it's just another cut straight across. She blew out my hair very nicely, and it looked good blown out. But after I washed it at home and let my hair air dry like always, it looked awful. I had to straighten my hair to make it look nice. She cut off a lot of my hair, way too short for my liking but that is probably my fault for agreeing to it. I will not be going back to this hair salon in the future. I am always made to feel so welcome and I now get so many comments about how amazing my eyebrows are and how great my skin looks. The staff are all so attentive and knowledgable. Found this place on Yelp and was DESPERATE for a haircut. I called at 11am and was able to make a 1pm appointment for the same day (on a Sunday). I recommend making an appointment, I was seen right away, there was no wait at all. And the place was pretty full. I must admit, I have never had a man cut my hair, this was the first time, and I have NO COMPLAINTS! He was amazing! I was not able to get his name but he had dark hair. Omg I love this place! They have a really talented guy working there named Arthur. I've never had my hair done so well. He took his time without rushing me to make sure I got the style I wanted. I have very fine/thin hair and every hair salon I've been to they just don't know how to work with it or care enough to work with me. He knew exactly how to manage and style my hair that it LASTED FOR DAYS! He genuinely seemed to care about my hair and gave me tips for caring for it. Came here for a color correction on my hair. Lola was phenomenal. At first I was a bit weary because the atmosphere and the persona of each tech is very much "just tell me what you want and we'll do it" but I completely understand why. These people can basically pull off anything. The day I went even the clients chatter about how good the techs are (it's a hair salon don't they want to talk about themselves). The owner answered all my questions even if they were annoying ones. My hair looked absolutely wonderful. I wish I had been going somewhere afterwards. I normally go to JJcoco but my regular girl was off and I was in a rush. I just wanted a trim, my dead ends cut off. I was taken right away but was given the worst haircut of my life. She didn't listen to me at all. She insisted my hair was dry,it's not at all. She took far too much hair off and now my hair is all choppy. On top of everything it was $45 my normal haircut is $25. So I had a shower to attend this afternoon, and had no clue where to get a decent blow dry. I have lots of hair and Dominican salons are where I normally go to, but none close by that I knew I could be in and out without waiting forever under a dryer with rollers u til they remember me lol so after swearing off my last go-to I was on my way to one further away from home when I passed this salon by. It was open early and I said why not?!As soon as I push the door open a gentleman greeted me immediately. I'm assuming he's the owner; a young guy, and he asked what I was coming in for. He asked if I wanted curls and I said sure. I was led to the washing station and I met Odalys.(hope I spelled that right) Odalys was lovely, and gave me a great wash, and always asked if I was comfortable, and if the intensity of her scrubbing was ok, water temp. She was very caring and apologized if I even got a single drop of water on my face. I later learned that by "curls" they blow dry and then twirl the brush in your hair to get the effect. I've never had that done before, but she assured me it would help the style last and it will look great. I do have a lot of hair and I almost felt bad for having her work so hard. Unlike the last salons I've been to, she never stopped to talk on her phone, never gossiped with her neighbor, just worked and we chatted here and there. I'm glad I had plenty of time as the curls process took a while, and in the end I was very pleased. She thanked me at the end and made sure my hair was exactly how I wanted. Absolutely my favorite salon since I moved to the Bronx from Brooklyn. A little hesitant at first, the owner (Alex) assured me that everything would be fine. I've had a blow out, trim, highlights (which came out spectacular), SEVERAL pedicures and gel/acrylic manicures and have never been disappointed. With my hair, I'm extremely picky but when he did the highlights I warmed up to them and love them. If you're in Pelham Bay Park or just looking for a place to get a quick blow out, you should really give Alex a try.
