I had absolutely the worst experience as soon as I stepped foot in the establishment! The person doing a customer's nails in the first chair, who I am assuming was the owner, asked me and my mom what we wanted. They did not greet us with a "hello" or "welcome" and the tone was as if we were disturbing her. We told her a manicure and pedicure. She dismissed us by saying that she is about to close and she needs time to clean up (it was only 6:35pm!). I knew that she closed at 7:30 and there were about 5 customers in there. Also, there were several women who worked there who were not busy and could've serviced us but obviously did not. The person who addressed us had a nasty attitude and disposition and basically tried to embarrass us. We ended up leaving annoyed and upset! The manager began my pedicure and left me sitting with my feet in the water for almost 20 minutes while she began working on another customer who came in after me! I wouldn't have minded waiting if she would of notified me of what she was doing next / communicated to her staff that someone should take over. Think you have an appointment at Gorgeous Nail & Spa ? Think again.  I have made 3 appointments with Kim only to arrive and have my polish removed and then told that she had another client so she couldn't do my nails or today "She was too tired" to do my nails.  Clients are frequently overheard after their polish is removed that they need someone to finish their manicure because they have children to pick up and have to get out of there.   The junior manicurist I was deferred to left a 1/16 inch of no polish to the cuticle so my SNS manicure will need to be redone a week earlier.   Either they have to stop taking appointments or they need someone who knows how do do scheduling. I've been to many nail salons, and this was definitely the worst place, and the only one I have ever written a negative review for. I would have given it zero stars, if that was an option. I brought my two-year-old daughter there and the woman who filled up the tub for her pedicure (not the same woman who actually did her pedicure) used completely cold water. When the woman who did my daughter's pedicure took her feet out of the water so said her feet were ice cold. She asked the other woman why she filled up the tub with such cold water, especially because she's a little girl, and she said that I told her not to make the water hot. I never spoke to her about the water temperature, and I definitely wouldn't tell her to use ice cold water. I attempted to tell the manager (who never smiles or greets customers when they walk in) what happened and she basically yelled at me and asked if I actually felt the temperature of the water. She basically implied that I was lying and that the water wasn't cold. Then the manager said there was no reason why the woman who purposely use cold water. She started yelling at me, even though I was very calm and never raised my voice. I told her that I couldn't believe that she was yelling at me, and that I though she would want to know what happened. I told her I would never come back, and she said, "Good. Goodbye." This place is the worst. I called for a 6pm nail appointment. Arrived right on time and they told me it would be a 15 minute wait. I'm sitting patiently and watch about 6 people do walk-ins and they are taken immediately. I ask when they are going to see me and they say another 5 minutes. It's now about a half hour I've been waiting. Still more walk ins and I'm competently ignored. No one apologized or anything. I ended up walking out bc of the poor service. Read Less

I've read through the other reviews and am sorry to learn about some individuals' bad experiences.  After going to Gorgeous Nails for more than a year, I feel largely positive about it.  Linda does an outstanding pedicure, and Becky, an outstanding UV gel manicure.  A few tips:  1.  Make an appointment. If you just walk in, especially during a weekend, don't expect to be attended to immediately.  And, yes, even with an appointment, there can be delays or misunderstandings, so recognize that "That's life."  2. Be polite.  Say please and thank you. The salon employees are your fellow human beings.  They work hard and are not highly paid. I cannot tell you how much customer rudeness I see on a regular basis, and I never cease to be appalled.  3.  If you ask a question and do not receive a clear answer, know that you may have not been fully understood. I used to love this place. My mother and I both have psoriasis and not once ever felt uncomfortable. I always loved there professionalism and would travel 30 plus minutes to come to this salon. After tonight I will never go back as the OWNER of this salon made my mother so upset and treated her like she was highly contagious. Both my grandmother and I voiced our opinions and I walked out. I flat out asked her if she had a cosmetology license and if she even know what psoriasis is. It truly breaks my heart as a woman in the industry that we ignorance rule us. The manager/ owner is one of the most immature, rude woman I have ever met. She tried charging an $80 manicure that only costed $45 and tried to rush me out by only applying two coats of polish. I had to say something for another coat and they made a scene. Horrible customer service and not to mention one of the employees threw my hand back when she was done painting my nails. Yesterday I went to get a pedicure and the young Asian man was beyond disgusting. Not only did he reek of cigarettes but he stopped mid way through to go out and smoke. He then came back and did NOT wash his hands a proceeded to finish my pedicure. When asked to wash his hands he just looked up at me and continued. I then received a manicure from one of the women. She cut mails with the clipper and clipped my skin. When she was cutting my cuticles she cut me again!! This place has really gone down!! They are now just about getting you in and out!!! We all got the SNS nails. I got tips with my mom whereas my niece just got regular SNS. It was $65 for the tips and SNS and $35 for regular SNS. The place was absolutely packed. My nails were rushed and as a consequence a couple did come out crooked and she did file my fingers when not looking. The pedicures were $20 and I got the shortest one of all three of us. Also my big toe nails were not made even and were left on a slant. I haven't gotten to do my nails in about 18 months prior to this so I'm ok with it for the most part... Yes could've been better but like I said, deprivation can give a whole new perspective and standard of things. Read Less

My step-mom came here for a simple mani pedi and the staff told her it would only be 5 minutes before she would be taken, which was fine. However, after 15 minutes had passed, nobody was helping my step-mom yet (despite helping other walk-ins) and she became frustrated. Despite this, she gave the salon the benefit of the doubt and waited another 8 minutes before finally walking out without ever being helped. This salon isn't anything special to begin with and on a Friday afternoon, no salon should be this negligent. Good service goes a long way, and bad service is not easily forgotten.I suggest avoiding this salon especially given that Westchester has 3 salons on every block! Read Less

Not incredibly impressed with this salon. Although I didn't have any problems with the staff like some others are writing, I did have a problem with the service. I came here to get a quick gel manicure before work because I had an event that night. They immediately tried to sell me the "powder" which is $5 more, and I heard them do the same to the woman next to me. When she asked the man what the difference between UV and powder was, he said there is none! Powder is just used by people who prefer not to use the UV light. Soooooo why are you trying to charge extra to the people who are clearly asking for UV gel?Anyways, my manicurist was sniffly and kept wiping her nose which was a little uncomfortable. She seemed very spaced out and didn't have any conversation with me. She spent the whole time looking around the salon. She didn't put any cuticle oil on and just started ripping them out dry. Ouch. On top of that, she messed up one nail like 3 times and kept filing it down and filing the skin as well. Again, ouch. She was pretty sloppy and the manicure looks like I did it myself. First of all the OWNER and or MANAGER is the Rudest person I have ever met in a business atmosphere..She is not only rude she is offensive!! I have been there a few times and each time has been an experience. This time will be my last ...every BAD review here is honest and true. I walked in and asked for a pink and whites for my nails and asked for a price. The owner looks at me and yelled what you have on NOW in a very nasty voice. I stated they were gels and showed her my hand. Since I had not gotten them there she was annoyed. She stated the pink and whites would be $50.00. So I sat and waited my turn, she took 3 people in front of me. Than said you come over! She started to drill my nails and than said to me the pink and whites would be $100.00! I said you stated $50.00 she said that was for fill in. I said but you looked at my nails when you gave me the price, surely you couldn't fill in red nail polish with pink and whites. I also pointed to a sign just above her head that stated pink and whites $35.00, she said they were no good and she wasn't doing it. I asked why is the sign up than??? She got up and left me in my chair with half drilled nails and started to work on someone else, and proceeded to gossip about me to her now new client. I got up and left than came back and took a picture of the sign that said pink and whites $45.00 which I would love to post if I can. They have a person who gives free massages but only to who the manager say to give it to ...which are the ones spending the most money. It is the massages that have made the place successful. The Manager should be fired and go back to wherever she came from!!!! One more thing just before Christmas I went there for a pedicure I had my cell with me. When I got to the car I couldn't find my phone. I went back to look between the pedicure seats and she started yelling at me that I didn't lost the phone there. I asked her how did she know that, no response just a dirty look. I never got my phone back. As far as clean and sterile for a pedicure or manicure I recommend you bring you own tools! This woman is a money hungry, Rude person who does not deserve any business the way she treats customers. I'm done!!!!!! I have been using Gorgeous Nails since they opened. I have always had a wonderful experience. Every dollar spent was worth it. It Is by far the cleanest salon I have ever been to. I have even seen them washing the house plants ! I have had manis and pedis as well as eyelash tinting and waxing. I went here for their eyelash extensions. You would think in a neighborhood like Bedford Hills you would get the same quality you would in Manhattan, if not better. Wrong. Not only was it expensive, ($100) but it was a horrible job.They use some kind of black tar to stick the eyelashes on. It burns like holy hell when you open up your eyes. Once dried, the eyelashes do not feel natural, a HUGE indicator that you have had a lousy job done. The eyelash extensions should feel soft and hardly noticeable.They felt hard and crusty and you could see the glue on the eyelid even after I had washed my face. My eyelids felt heavy and itchy. They had nerve to ask for more money when I wanted it removed.I can't speak on their nail services or any other nail services because I have never been so disgusted by a business charging such insane money for such a horrible job.
