I am highly upset and I will be coming back tomorrow to file a complaint with Erica who is the original manager on staff at this establishment. First and foremost if your business opens at 10. Then you need to have enough staffing for clients and the proper supplies in the right place. There weren't any HOT MOIST TOWELS for my feet or my hands. The girl dried my hands with a VERY COLD MOIST TOWEL. Also they didn't properly lotion my feet all the way so I'm practically ashy and last but not least they DROWNED my foot in TOP COAT POLISH. Also the girl told me my finger nails were dried as soon as I put my finger in my wallet to pay polish came off. So apparently it wasn't dried. I am livid. I will be at the establishment tomorrow to have them repair the damages free of charge tomorrow. I've been going to this establishment for the last three years. I've never walked out of this place so DISAPPOINTED as I am today. I will be coming back tomorrow BRIGHT and EARLY to get my feet and nails fixed properly. I will NEVER walk into this establishment early in the morning without Erica being in there because the individual they had there today as MOD is HORRIBLE. She was trying to blame me for having my toe filled with a bunch of top coat. Like are you incompetent for the simple fact I didn't paint my damn toe nail. Your worker painted my toes and applied the top coat so how is it the customer's (me) fault. This place has really gone down hill. I've been coming here since they first opened, but sadly I will not be returning. For the price that they charge for one pedicure, I can get a mani and pedi in Manhattan. The woman that did my nails, Mayra, seemed lazy and rushed through the process. I'm not sure if that staff is overworked or unhappy with their jobs but the customer service is really lacking. You can get better service for much cheaper elsewhere. Read Less

Finally! I've found a place in Astoria that offers exactly what I need: nails that don't pop off or break. Initially I thought it was a little more expensive, but it's perfect price to pay for good quality. It's very serene inside and you are treated as a valued guest. I went to J'aime Nails 5 days ago to get a pedicure and acrylic nails in preparation for an upcoming wedding. The pedicure was nice, definitely overpriced, but beyond that I have no complaints. However, after the pedicure, my experience was anything but nice. The application of the acrylics was rushed. I got the distinct impression that I was greatly inconveniencing the nail tech simply by coming to J'aime Nails to get my nails done. It later became obvious that she was annoyed at one of her co-workers, but it led to a rather uncomfortable time. Less than 24 hours after I left, the acrylic on my pinky nail popped off completely, which resulted in my having to super glue the nail back on for the wedding I was attending. Shortly after, the acrylic on my thumb nail popped off and, again, I had to glue it back on so I could attend the wedding without my nails appearing to be in a total state of disrepair (which they were). It is now not even a week after I got these acrylics put on and I only have 6 out of the 10 left (one of which was glued back in place by me). I did not want to write a bad review, but the fact that I paid $40 for acrylics and half of them fell off within a week, is nothing short of absurd and should be brought to the attention of potential customers. The people who work here are all so kind and talented. Best message I've ever had. The pedicures are always spa treatment quality. It's a refreshing atmosphere that feels like Astoria's own mini spa castle. I've been hesitant to review because it's such a hidden gem but they've gone above and beyond too many times for me not to shine a positive light on this 5 star establishment.One note: it's going to take time to get treatments, don't come here if you're in a rush. Terrible Experience!  My friend and I came in at around 1pm today.  We asked for a mani/pedi for both of us.  The woman had us sit at manicure stations (as if we were going to start with manicures) for 20 minutes....  then told us we could go upstairs because "they" were ready for us.  When we got up there- one woman started working on me while my friend sat there.  My pedicure was finished by the time someone else came along to begin my friends manicure.  Then I was brought downstairs and sat at the manicure station. After about 10 minutes of sitting there I started looking around.  The woman from the front desk came over and said she was going to start my manicure- but someone else would finish.  This is unprofessional and not something I would be interested in.  I explained to her that I wouldn't mind waiting a little bit longer.  After 35 minutes of sitting there.... I finally got up and decided to leave without having a manicure.  The woman who did my pedicure actually started working on someone else after we fished my pedicure, instead of continuing with me and giving me a manicure.  I have had 100+ manicures and pedicures in my life.  The pedicure here was pretty good, however the lack of organization and lack of professionalism was disappointing . Proper communication goes a long way.  They were clearly understaffed and the woman at the front desk seemed to have no idea what she was doing.  Very very disappointing and I will not be back. I made an appointment for 10:30 a.m. And I got seen for a pedi right away. I was brought to the next  a table for the Mani and the wait was longer to the point that the receptionist came over to start my manicure. The relaxing atmosphere is great, the massage chair I love and the products they use seem great. However,$45 later my nail color looks very thin  and my Mani was interrupted several times when the phone rang or when someone had to pay and the receptionist had to go charge them. They took walk-ins who were taken care of well and I had made an appointment which defeats the purpose of making an appointment I believe. Such a clean salon and very relaxing! I lived in Astoria for years, then moved to NJ, and now am living in Bay Ridge Brooklyn... I STILL make the trip to this salon! That's how good their nail techs are!!!! Erica at the front desk is such a sweetheart, and is very accommodating, and always goes above and beyond to take care of you! I have had the privilege of trying out different nail techs, and all very talented with their own style! I do acrylic on top of my nails, and finish off with a gel manicure. My nails last foreverrrr! Right now my go-to people are Sue & Peter! My killer coffin shaped nails are fierce thanks to these two! Read Less

This salon is so relaxing and clean. Been going here for four years. They have everything you need for a good price. Vicky is my favorite girl there. :) She gives a killer foot massage. My aesthetician seemed to be bothered throughout my entire appointment. I caught on midway that they seemed to be understaffed. She was also too preoccupied with the customer next to me and her incoming customer scheduled after me. I have had many gel manicures in the past that last an entire month...and I can tell you that this manicure is already chipped and peeling away from the cuticles within a week. My cuticles were also left pretty sloppy and she was pretty rough on them too...I winced several times from pain. At the end of my session, she led me up to my pedicure, which she then explained several times, she could not commit to because of her other client who called during my session to come in. So I sat waiting with my feet in cold water for about 20 minutes before another girl came along to finish. In the end, my former manicurist then walked up to me before I left asking how I was ( I really didn't think she deserved a tip due to her poor customer service that day) ...just looking at me and clearly waiting for me to hand her a tip. I reluctantly handed her one and left. I won't be going back. You get what you pay for. Next time I'll book an appointment in time for my regular salon visits in Manhattan. Read Less

Their hand cream gave me an awful rash. I immediately washed my hands and asked to leave so I could go home and treat it - no polish was applied. I went pay for my pedicure and was charged the full amount for a manicure. I raised it with the manager who said it wasn't their problem - despite agreeing with me that their lotion gave me a rash - and said I was still required to pay. This was my first time returning here after a few years. I chose to come back because I wanted extra pampering, a thorough spa pedicure and a manicure.  Hooray it's spring again. My services began immediately with me soaking my feet for several minutes (I wish the water was warmer which I asked for 2x) but it wasn't unbearable. However, while sitting down I saw a bug (wasn't sure what kind) on my chair and let the woman who sat me down know. Shortly after a new woman came to start my pedicure and I saw an ant on my chair. I informed her and she covered the space where it was with a towel.Towards the end of my pedicure two other women came in and complained about seeing a roach on one of their chairs. GROSS! Roaches are nasty but they acted like it was a dragon so comic relief for a few minutes.My pedicure was actually pleasant and so was my manicure until the manicurist told me that she couldn't polish my nails because she was told by the manager that she (manager) would do it. I asked why and was told she didn't know. By the next day my nails looked like crap (see picture)  not sure exactly what she did wrong for this to happen.  So $99 latter (including tip) I've decided that I won't return to this nail salon. The best nail salon/spa in the area! The owners have truly raised the bar for nail salon expectations. The nail technicians are always kind and cater to your needs by taking their time while servicing you. While receiving a mani/pedi they always open a fresh pack of utensils, which is huge for me. The place is ALWAYS spotless too! I've only done gel manicures ($35) and pedicures and it's taken about a hour each because of the entire experience. They place your hand/feet in a glove/sock with some moisturizer while they do your nails which feels amazing and give you a back massage . My nails always come out perfect and last for 2+ weeks. They also have soooo many colors and nice designs as well. You're definitely paying for an experience of pampering, you won't be disappointed! Read Less

I probably won't be coming here again. My normal manicurist was closed on Sunday so I decided to go to J'aime instead. My manicure was rushed, my nails weren't filed properly and are slanted, and the polish is bubbled up up after drying. They also use these keratin gloves and didn't take off any of my jewelry before applying it. It wasn't the worst manicure I've ever had, but It wasn't worth it at all. I would ever trust them to do anything more complex than this.I normally go to Sylvia at Mint Salon & Spa. I highly recommend her. Very pleased! Found this spot by accident but was pleasantly surprised. I got a fiberglass fullest and they look amazing! She paid attention to what I said about the length and shape. I teally liked that I didn't have to ask her to clean up my cuticles or any extra stuff. She made my hands look bomb. They have different options from silk, dip powder, fiberglass , acrylic....I like to have options. I also got my lip waxed. I usually get irritated if they don't use good wax but it's been all day and no irritation. They don't double dip and that's great!! I also got my eyebrows threaded. They look exactly how they should...I have a good natural shape so it's hard to mess up but it's happened in the past.she was quick and it was perfect.The pedicure area is lovely. First time here. Beautiful decor and very clean. Only negative experience was the wait time. I had a 6:30pm appt for a pedi and I wasn't taken care of until 7:30pm. There was no need for them to bring me to the pedi chair only to have me soak my feet for over a half hour while no one whatsoever attended to me. Only when I decided to dry my feet and threaten to walk out did one of the technicians rush to get someone. It should've been a more relaxing experience, but sadly it wasn't. That really sucks, especially when it's already late and you're exhausted coming from work. For that, I give it 3 stars. If I ever decide to come back, maybe I'll have a better experience. Read Less

Wow... Just had a great experience here. I walked in after being (politely) turned away by a nearby boutique hair/nail/massage salon on Newtown Ave that evidently required an appointment (fair enough). I pulled up Yelp before entering J'aime and admittedly, I almost decided to call it a day and go home when I saw some of the Yelp photos and read about the arguably high pricing. Throwing caution to the wind, I decided to go for it. I was greeted right when I walked in to the immaculate spa-like salon, and when I asked I was told it would be about a 20 minute wait for a regular mani-pedi. I agreed to wait and 20 minutes later Amanda greeted me and and began the regular pedicure. Pause. When Amanda sat me down and came back with her tray full of magical-looking items, I felt the need to confirm that I was getting a regular pedicure. She confirmed. Suffice to say, the pedicure was awesomely relaxing and thorough without the need for me to ask her to really go nuts with the (individually-packaged and applied) pumice scrubber. Shush. It's been a while!Following the pedicure, we relocated to a manicure table where Amanda was happy to quickly test out some of my polish choices before getting started. After a good soak, she did a great job filing and cleaning up my nails, and with her precise hand, my nails were perfectly coated in a matter of minutes. Now for the price. Based on my experience today, I feel justified in saying you get what you pay for. The regular mani-pedi combo came out to a whopping $42, which many may consider to be fairly expensive for such services in Queens.
