I've been going here for the past year but today I was really disappointed, I got the ANC after ten minutes of them convincing me how much better it was and 3 nails broke in three days. I'm not impressed .When I went to nail top today I was outside waiting for about 15 minutes when they were supposed to open at 10:00AM. When I spoke to one of the workers about my concerns another worker said he has a family they come whenever they want. They won't ever get my business again. I've been going here for the past couple of months. I get a fill on my nails and an occasional pedi. They're not to die for, but they don't do such a terrible job that I need to find another place. I go to a couple of different people because I haven't found the right one to do my nails like I like them. They say Jenny is good, but her wait is too long. 3 issues:The wait can be terrible if you go after 12. I waited 2 hours to get my nails done. One of the reasons I go to different people is because you get seen faster. If someone comes in wanting eyebrows, they'll stop to do the eyebrows. After I've waited 1+ hours to be seen, I don't want to wait longer. The clientele. But it's in the hood of Albany, close to the student ghetto and near subpar neighborhoods of Albany, so you gotta take what you can. I would have given it 4 stars, but that wait. I never really write review cause I don't really care that much nut I had to tell the world about this place. This was my first time going there and the woman that did my nails did an amazing job. I didn't catch her name but she wasn't the owner she sits in about the 4th chair. Way better then Melissa's. My nails all came out exactly as I asked and they were extremley even. She really took her time and made sure they were perfect. First time I didn't have to ask the person doing my nails to go back and fix them for being mis shapened. The only reason u gave it 4 was because I waited over an hour. It was a Friday after 5 though so most nails places are busy but that place was packed. Probably due to how good they are. Teetering on 3.5 or 4 stars so I'll just bump it up to 4 because I was surprisingly impressed. I work downtown and needed a quick fill on my lunch break. I came here around 12:15 and didn't have to wait. My nail tech was friendly and funny. as well as all the other nail techs. He did a great job on my fill. The crowd as others have mentioned can be entertaining but it didn't bother me. I'm not sure why other reviewers have given 1 star ratings because of the clientele. That is of no fault of the business and doesn't reflect their ability. That aside, the shop was clean enough, but they could upgrade their drying station a bit. I wasn't crazy about the paint job of my nails.. he didn't go down all the way to the cuticle and there were a few areas on the side of my nails that could've looked more crisp. They lose some points because they don't give any type of hand massage or hot towel and they could improve on their polish selection. I would recommend for nail services and it's good to know they are reliable for a fill if I ever need a quick one on break. Read Less

Best eyebrow wax in Albany. Mani/pedis are really great too. Only downside is the wait, because they don't take appointments. It certainly doesn't look like much, and I honestly wasn't sure what to expect based on location, but Nail Top is seriously the best! It is absolutely worth the wait. The entire staff is friendly and talented- I go every other Saturday (almost) and have not had a single bad experience, and I am VERY picky.  Give it a shot!! Read Less

I've been coming to this nail salon since I was in high school. The quality of service has never really changed. They are good with nail designs but nothing extravagant. It is a walk-in only business so the wait at times can be long. The employees are friendly, clean and there is always a good laugh to be had. I got my nails done today an I'm sad because I wanted pointy nail and I got oval nails ...on top of that it was 25 dollars just because I wanted them pointy damn shame ..so not only didn't not get want I really wanted but I Damn share wasn't paying more money for a design homie try to tell me it would be 40 dollars for design oh hell no  ..I so wish I would had waited till I went to Brooklyn cuz not only would my nails be pointy but I also would had got all ten of my fingers designed for only 20 dollars now lets see how long my shit lasts me Read Less

It's on Central Ave. The people inside can be hit or miss.However, the employees were nice and I got a super cute design on toes. For a pedicure and 2 designs, it was $28. They offer wax services. But I wouldn't do that here. They probably double dip in the wax. Yikes. and again I'm back on the search for a nail salon...sigh! Read Less

As soon as I walked into the salon, I was greeted by someone.  I just needed an eyebrow waxing, so she walked me into a back room, I sat down and put my head back so she could do the procedure. i feel very sad to give them one star. it really isn't their fault.  the ladies who provide the pedicures and other beautification procedures are quite nice and proficient. unfortunately, the clientle leaves MUCH to be desired.  when i took my daughter and her friend there for quick pedi's before a little ichiban, there was no one in front of us except 2 ladies on the chairs, almost finished.  30 minutes later they had me come to a chair but still had the ladies there being worked on (they had them some Scary feet) so they ran the water and i sat for a while. 20 minutes later (not exaggerating at all) i took my feet out of the water as they were getting waterlogged and the water was cold now and i was considering leaving. the one woman left next to me had started loudly complaining about how these people were ripping her off. how they wouldn't do as she requested - she had asked them to keep using the razor on her callous and they were worried they would hurt her, there was nothing left. and then she complained about not taking the toenails low enough. and her friend was eating fried chicken from the place next door and waving it in the air while loudly conversing with her mouth full from across the room. the verbal abuse continued to get worse and it was a bit frightening and i thought it was time to get my daughter out of there. she doesn't need to listen to that kind of junk. as i stood up the other woman got up and stormed to the front, she was sure these 'foreign women' were talking about her and were really stupid to boot. after that the service was lovely and efficient but the beauticians were so traumatized by the experience that they wouldn't look at us or talk to us. sadly i will not go back. i don't want to risk a repeat brush with the seedier side of their customers.if they moved, i would attempt the place again however. their prices were pretty good.
