I went in to get my nails done without an appointment because their website says “walk-ins welcome” but was immediately turned away at the front desk and the women there told me they only accept you with an appointment. So much for walk ins welcome! However, I had been there a couple times before with an appointment and they were very nice and did a great job on my nails then. Also the old woman who works up front is extremely unprofessional. I haven't had a set of nails since 2010 for my wedding. I'm pregnant and I've felt horrible recently due to my hormone imbalance. It was nice to go out and feel pampered, I don't remember the name of the lady who did my nails, but she did a really good job and exceeded my expectations of what I wanted. She did a nice short claw/almond shape which is what has been in style lately. I chose a color changing gel paint(changes with temperature it seems)that looks nice! I was visiting Santa Fe for a fun girls trip and wanted to pamper my friend for her birthday. Saw the great reviews for Serenity and got an appointment super quick. I wasn't disappointed. The nail spa is clean and friendly, with affordable prices. We got the pedicure with sugar scrub, and it was quite enjoyable at only $30. The basic pedicure is only $25. Where else can you go at those prices? The nail technicians did a nice job on the polish and were polite, attentive and extremely professional. I loved how they all seemed to know their customers by name and the fact that customers weren't packed in there like sardines being turned over like cattle. Also, I appreciated the fact that they seem to have a dedicated receptionist as a central hub for communication and processing appointments and payments. Had my first appt at Serenity Nails yesterday and it will be my go-to nail salon moving forward! Not only was my gel manicure and standard pedicure perfectly executed, but they have extremely high sanitary standards. I had a very bad experience last week when I went to get my nails done. The Nail Tech Megan was speaking very badly of other customers in front of everybody referring to them by their name! She was calling then names, making fun of them, saying she hates when they come in saying she hates picky people I could go on and on. She made me and I'm sure the other ladies feel very uncomfortable. That is bad for business and it was very unprofessional!! A lady recommended me this place so this review is about my first time in there. Also this is the first nail spa that I visit in Santa Fe. I got my nails done in a place in Mexico before moving here. I went to get Gel Manicure. I wanted a look for fall. **Customer service** Phone: The guy I talked to was really nice. In the nail spa: The lady in the front desk was nice. The lady who was going to do my gel manicure gave me some time to decide which color I wanted. She was quiet while doing it. She seemed to be in a hurry. Gave me the idea I was bothering her. I don't know. I hope everything is OK in her life. She wasn't rude at all, but not friendly. There are some mistakes in my nails, but nothing too crazy. ** Place ** The place was clean. ** Temperature ** AC on. It was nice to be there. ** Price ** It was $32.49 USD. As this is my first time in a nail spa in US. It seemed to be expensive for what I got, but again in Mexico is different (nice service, great result for $240 MXN). (Gel removal is done with the foil wrapping method, rather than soaking fingers in acetone.) This is where I recommend when any of my guests/visitors are looking to get their nails done in Santa Fe. Went in for a pedicure because the bottoms of my feet were raw from being in a swimming pool. Granted, I was a walk-in, and it was lucky that they could fit me in because they are always so busy. My pedicure lasted 20 minutes. The massage portion was lackluster, and when I got home, I had to use my own tools to get the bottoms of my feet smooth. Not the best pedicure I've ever received. After living in Santa Fe for two years and putting up with mediocre nail jobs, I found Jennifer at Serenity! I found her 3 months ago and have been back for a mani/pedi when needed! She takes her time painting and everything always comes out amazing! Serenity is clean and everyone working there is nice. I like the fact that they are so busy you must make an appointment, meaning, no sitting around for walking in so when I show up for my appointment I get right in. After sitting in the massage chair and becoming a bit too relaxed, I left my iPad somewhere near the front counter/front door area.  Hours later, and soon after the salon closed, I realized where I'd left it.  It was after hours but I called the salon in a panic because I needed the iPad before they opened again the next day since I had an early morning flight out of New Mexico.  The owner/manager picked up the phone while I was leaving my harried message and told me the iPad was right at the front counter waiting for me.  Even though they were closed and he was ready to go home, he waited for me to drive back to pick it up.  That iPad could have very easily gone "missing," and I think it says a lot that it was held safe and sound at the front desk until I returned for it.  I also chose this salon for my wedding mani-pedi, no complaints about the service. If you are considering going here - Please be warned - it's filthy and you get treated like garbage on top of it.    If I could give this dump a minus star I would.  I got a fungus from their foot baths which they don't sterilize except to lightly spray - that's NOT STERALIZATION.   I GOT DOCTOR DIAGNOSED FUNGUS from them and when I asked for a liner they charged me for it.   Their receptionist is so rude and nasty you can't believe it and they don't care.  When I tried to talk to the owner - one "Tommy" he was just as rude as their receptionist.  So what you get here is a crummy pedicure in a germ laden tub and have to pay way too much for what they do.   As frosting on the cake they treat you like crap on top of it.   It is not sanitary at all, the services are not good, especially for the amount they charge.  It's just another run of the mill rush you in and rush you out.   Please save yourself and find another salon - one that's top rated in Santa Fe. This is a professional, clean, sanitary salon with adequate ventilation for customers, all services are by appointment, all staffed friendly and professionally trained, all staff speaks English, prices are very fair for the excellent services rendered. I am really surprised by the other rating on here. Serenity is the best nail salon in Santa Fe. The one downside is they are always busy so you can't just walk-in and expect to get a pedi. I am definitely willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, I work at a busy salon in downtown and it is very rare for us to take walk-ins in the summer. If your good it shows. I went here on a recommendation from a friend. I got a gel manicure, and took a photo from NY fashion week for them to use as a guide for the art. The manicurist was pretty friendly, but the manicure didn't turn out well, very lumpy. So I call back later that day asking them to re-do it. They say ok, and I go for my appointment for them to fix the bad manicure. While I'm getting it done, the receptionist informs me that I will have to pay for them to be redone at a fee of $20, when I had already spend $43 for the poorly done manicure earlier that afternoon, plus a tip, so was less than happy to hear that I would have to pay more just to have my nails look decent. The manicurist could see I was a little unhappy that I was having to pay more, so she charged me only $5, but still, should not have been charged anything to have them fix a poorly done manicure. I did call and speak with the owner the next day, he was apologetic but offered no restitution or anything for the poor service. Read Less

Very pleased with Serenity. I've returned several times and will stick with them because they do top notch work on both the Deluxe Pedicure (a real treat!) and the French Gel Manicures. They keep special sets of tools for each, individual client, so no nasty germs can be spread from person to person. Very clean. I have no idea what that other reviewer is talking about regarding the chemicals. I've never experienced anything like that. It's a great place and I'm relieved to have found them after salon-hopping for months trying to find a professional, friendly, clean place. Only nail salon i recommend in Santa Fe. Read Less

I love this place!! The spa is clean, the staff is friendly and the service is always perfect. A few other things; they never overbook so you don't end up waiting and hour-ish to get the service done. They are super careful with your nails, and you never feel like they are in a hurry. I've had acrylic nails for over 30 yrs and this is by far the worst place I've been to. I have my nails pink and white so I don't need polish. I didn't notice that they weren't being done that way until about half way through. When I mentioned it, he spoke it very broken English and for the most part ignored me. He even had to have a cheat cheat so he knew what came next. I told him how i wanted them shaped and he mangled it so badly that by the time he was done they were shorter then they have been in 20 yrs. I realize that people have to learn but at least tell me up front that you are a.  I was short on time or I would have made them do it all over. When brought up to the manager, he just didn't seem to care. I now have to wear polish for the first time in 8 yrs and wait for my nails to grow to out again so they can be shaped properly. So this is my second pedicure experiment in Santa Fe. Not going back, can't make me, no price is worth my health. These folks are very close to my house and I needed a quick pedi so I called and made an appt. They were nice, I showed up on time and they seated me on time. They had a good selection of nail polish colors (OPI), those nice chairs that massage you while you are getting your work done, and some good trashy mags to read. They also did a very good job on my pedicure, the leg massage was OK but not the best. The charged me an extra $5 for the extra skin removal they required (and they pulled out this crazy and kinda scary automated circular saw, I mean buffer, to do it with). There's gotta be a better way to position it than they did, but I'm over them announcing to everyone in the establishment that my feet were in terrible shape - that's fine. So-o why the two stars when everything seemed like it went ok? 'Cause the chemicals that I breathed for that hour will give me cancer next year...seriously I could hardly breathe in there, they had the front door opened a crack but even when I just walked in it smelled like I was leaning over a huge nail polish remover vat and splashing it on my face. That can't be healthy for me, or more importantly for the employees who breathe it in all day EVERY day. I'm still on the lookout and still willing to pay to get a good pedi in a healthy environment.
