I came In for a refill base and as soon as I sat down they started filling at my base and I could immediately tell it wasn't enough as to how much they normally do I told her I had powder and she said it wouldn't be a problem , when she put a new layer of powder you could still see the line from my old base she said it's because I went to a different salon initially but I've never had this problem for a rebase It's one of the easiest things to do. I was not happy then she asked me to pay before I was done and charged me 30 when it clearly says 17.50 on the board she said it's because it was powder which makes no sense . This is the worst re base I've ever had . To top it off she did a clear gel coat on top and it's bumby and streaked . Super disappointed would definitely not recommend it was a rip off. After sitting in my car for about 5 min I decided to go back and tell the owner I was really unhappy with my nails and showed him where you could clearly see the old base and all he said was well you should go back to where you got them done the first time if you want the same powder. Two bleeding toes from a pedicure is not acceptable. A young guy did my pedicure. I've been here 3 times now and I had two good experiences. The guy I had this time cut two toes and did not smooth out my nails. On a previous visit I saw another man's toes bleeding. Now my toes are worse than when I walked in. Extremely relaxing and calming. I had been looking forward to getting my nails done all week and it was definitely worth the wait! They have a good selection of colors and I went on a Friday morning and there was only one other person so they took their time and did everything properly!. Other than that my nails look great! I used to come here often and it was alright. Today I came and it will be my last time. My gel manicure was rushed and sloppy. The woman doing them was rude and decides to put a different color on my nails than the one I requested because "it is better". I don't get why this place keeps winning best of Santa Fe. Every time I've been here I get a terrible quality job, always has globs and bubbles and mistakes and it costs way more than the other places! Also they just paint your nails and put a glob of lotion on. you get to dunk your feet in the water for like a minute , but they don't exfoliate your feet, massage, nothing. When got home I noticed a big glob of nail polish on the side of my big toe and spots of polish on other toes that hadn't been cleaned off. No effort made to scrub off heel callouses. Cost for a pedicure $35 including tip. Not sure how they were rated Best of Santa Fe 2017. Read Less

I had to go back 15 minutes later because the nail polish on my natural nails bubbled up. They had to remove the polish and do it again. The next day one chipped. The nail people at the Sta Fe Plaza are WAY better and less expensive! Read Less

I am sorry to say that I did not have a good experience. I was in town for my son's wedding and was treating my daughter, mom and mother -in-law (and myself) to mani/pedi's. I arranged for a 10am appointment and the shop insisted that I call to confirm three days prior, which I did. When I arrived, they only could seat two of us at a time. The biggest issue is that all four of us had issues with the nail polish bubbling up about 30 minutes after it dried. It happened on all of us! I called the shop and they asked that we come back, which my daughter and I did, and the same thing happened a second time. I have been here before, not often, but about 2-3 times a year for many years. This last mani-pedi was not at all too my satisfaction..Very rushed and my nails bubbled. I went back within hours and they did redo the nails, they gave me a song and dance about "texture" in some polishes, I picked a different polished and was told that the one I now picked was smooth and should be fine. However they bubbled again. I have never had this happen before, and unfortunately, my husband had just purchased another gift certificate for me, the same day as my mani-pedi. So I went back and showed them that the re-do had also bubbled, and thus I was not happy. They said I would have to wait to get the nails redone, I explained I did not have time, but really did not want to waste another hour of my life if the third time it was going to bubble again. He said something must be wrong with my body, that was why the nails had bubbled. SERIOUSLY! Why not just admit their shortcomings.The manager was not sympathetic and I asked if I could return the gift certificate, since something has change there and the outcome is no longer favorable.He first refused and said no way. I asked to speak to the owner, he said the owner lives in CA, then I asked to speak to the manager, he said he was the manager.When I agreed to re-schedule a 3rd re-do on my nails (at a different time), and no refund on the new gift certificate,  a petite woman spoke to the manager in Vietnamese and must have told him to give me a refund on the gift certificate, but no re-do on my nails. I took the refund on the new gift certificate and decided it was not worth fighting over the re-do of a third nail polish application, mostly because I felt they would bubble a third time. I will likely never be back.I feel that if you are not a "regular customer" you get the rush job, maybe they are better with those who support them on a more consistent basis.Upon searching on the internet, it appears that bubbling can occur when you do not wait for each layer to dry, which is exactly how I felt, rushed, "lets get you out of here".Too bad, I did like the place, but not this time. Honestly I had the worst experience at this establishment. I got a pedicure and a full set, the guy who I got, filed my nails really hard to the point I had to pull away twice, and rushed through the whole pedicure. On my full set I asked for the shape I wanted and he insisted I did something different, when I disagreed, he got upset and did what he wanted to one hand anyway. He left my nails uneven, misshaped, fat, and lumpy. I had to ask him to fix my nails multiple times and he got upset and gave me attitude every time. I had to go to Sally's to buy a file and fix it myself when I left. I'm really unhappy with my nails and I will never waste my money there again. I honestly feel like if you pay someone to do your nails, you should be getting good service with employees who want YOU to be happy with your nails, not just a poor excuse of a job done. Read Less

Not only are they all extremely talented at what they do but they always make me feel like they really appreciate my business. NOPE. Way overpriced. All of the paint on my nails (mani/pedi) have air bubbles. No clean lines on the painted nail edges. Massage chair didn't work. I was disappointed with this place. The men working there made rude comments and were rough with our feet and hands. We brought in ten ladies for a bridal party pampering and none of us felt pampered. My mother in-law told the man working there that she was Irish and German and he responded in in laughter that all of Europe is the same (culture) then continued to make fun of her and laugh among the other men. The gentleman working on my nails told me my nails were too small and bent my toes down so hard I wanted to scream. None of us received those disposable flip flops as we had to walk around on the cold tile floor wth bare feet. Would not be going back there. Read Less

We went here for my cousin's wedding, and on first impression, it looked like any other, plain 'ol nail salon. Little did I know I'd be getting the worst manicure and pedicure of my life, at an extremely high price. My cuticles were pushed back far, and needed Aquaphor for about a week to heal. I received no color, or even a clear coat, and it was $45. They spoke about how expensive Santa Fe was to live, but with the price gouging and lack of services Nail Experts provide, I think they're making out just fine... I read the reviews and everyone has given them five stars. I went there today with my daughter and I can see why. The owner and her staff are very nice and they really take care of their customers. They even welcomed my 4 year old very pleasantly. I swear this is the best acrylic fill and pedi with French too gel polish I have ever gotten. I went to nail experts after reading the reviews on Herr. I understand their reputation and business levels would indicate an establishment with high quality services. Unfortunately, this was not the case for me. I went to get a gel set with a French finish. As the gentleman was applying the nails, one of them popped off,and he promptly applied more adhesive. He spent a great deal of time telling me how strong his credentials are, and I believed I was in good hands. After only two days, three of the nails popped off, and I was very unhappy that this was the case after paying well over fifty dollars plus twenty percent tip. I had planned to return and complain, but had to be admitted to the hospital with a severe issue with my neck and spine. After recouping I sent the owner a note and he told me to please come in or call. I went and asked for him and he was very abrupt and rude with me. I can understand that time had passed and that it was most likely too late to receive any service. It was the fact that he was so curt with a paying guest. I could be treated that poorly at anyplace costing one third as much as the supposed nail experts. I am already in pain on a daily basis, I don't need more from a place charging overinflated prices. I used to go to this place until they became so inundated with being the "Best of the Best" in Santa Fe. The technicians barely speak to you unless you have been going there for years and the last time I was there I got a gel refill which is quite expensive and the polish peeled off about an hour later. I went back in, was polished again and put under the lights but was disappointed once again when I left for vacation 2 days later and the polish peeled right off again. It is discouraging when customer service falls to awards and recognition. I would not recommend this place unless you want a quick "assembly line" type of service. Sad. Read Less

Pretty standard - good price. Place seems clean. I appreciated that they had the sterilizer in plain view and they took instruments from there. Made sure that I was comfortable. This doesn't sound like an amazing review - but it's a nail place and in Santa Fe where customer service is nonexistent and prices are outrageous - this is the place to go to get what you would expect as standard anywhere else in the country. In the past, I have received good pedicures here. This last time that I went, however, the service was deplorable. The woman who performed my pedicure kept repeating that she would give me a "special" treatment. She never mentioned that her "special" treatment would cost me $40 instead of the normal $25 charge, and nothing she did was special whatsoever. She cut one of my big toenails too short and left the other one too long. (It's a good thing that sandal weather is over now because my big toes look stupid!) She did absolutely nothing extra in the way of scrubbing my feet or massaging them. It was a basic, slipshod pedicure. The only thing "special" about it was the exaggerated price that she sprung on me when she was done.By the way, nowhere on the posted list of services is a $40 pedicure printed.Not only did I feel ripped off by this woman, but the method of payment that she required made me even more uncomfortable. She told me that I could not use my credit card and told me that I had to pay with cash or check. I found this request disturbing to say the least because I observed the owner going through the credit card receipts that he had taken for the day. I knew that she was lying to me.When I went to write my check out, she told me that I had to make the check out to an individual, not to the business. I found this demand to be very disturbing. Nothing like this had ever happened to me in the past when I visited this salon, and I felt very suspicious about the whole process. Because of the way that I was treated (read: ripped off), I will NEVER go back to this place again. I was tricked and I received a lousy pedicure. The manicurist dissed my polish choice, was fast and sloppy, made my cuticles bleed and then stung them with antiseptic, and after everything I realized that the coat on several nails was bumpy and uneven with bubbles in the polish. This is probably one of the lowest-quality manicures and pedicures I've ever gotten.  I just can't believe that this could possibly be the best in Santa Fe.The edges of my nails were left all jaggedy underneath, even though I tried to get them to file them away.  My cuticles were left rough and untended.  And the polish job near the base of my cuticles is very uneven.  As for my feet, they put a little lotion on them and that was it.  No pumice, buffing, or anything.They were clean and there wasn't a wait, so that was good.
