Went here with my mom today. I got a gelmanicure with Amy and my mom got acrylic tips with Ivy. Amy did a wonderful job cleaning up my cuticles and getting my paint the way I wanted it. The first time I went, I was convinced to try the new "dip"nails. Don't do it. First of all, it's expensive. It only lasts a couple weeks for over $40 and it can't be filled. Also the nail tech cut my finger by filing too har and didn't even notice I was bleeding. Nonetheless, I went back after a couple weeks to have the "dip" removed and get a regular gel manicure. The guy seemed pissed that I wanted a gel manicure and didn't want to do the dip again. The entire time, he ignored me to talk to regulars, which I found very rude. He also smelled of cigarettes.Anyway, after LESS than one week, my gel manicure is peeling off. WTF. I am sorry, but if your going to make appts with your clients, please keep them.I don't mind waiting 5, 10 or even 15 minutes, but that last time I arrived at 5:50 for my 6:00 appt.6:45 I am still sitting there and your still working on the same woman.It's obvious you took her 10 minutes maybe before me, but make me sit there for 45 minutes?Sorry but tired of Santa Fe in so many places being so poor in customer service.Good luck.  Ivy does a great job, but I can't sit there that long and that was the third time it was 30 mins or longer waiting. Great place! I went in for a full set but landed getting my nails dipped with this new nail product that is amazing.  Ivy did an amazing job explained the product to me and gave me a pedicure as well. My 7 year old daughter got a manicure and pedicure as well and they were very patient with her even when she messed up two nails. Read Less

Ivy went above and beyond by opening her salon early on a Saturday morning for our wedding party. (It was our fault for expecting to get an appointment on a Friday afternoon, but) our pleasant experience more than made up for not being seen on Friday.The service was prompt and courteous. All the employees were friendly, welcoming, and even being from out of town they made us feel like regulars.I was surprised at how clean and renovated and comforting the bathroom was! The nail work is great, I cannot deny that. But the customer service is horrible. If you make an appointment and the salon gets busy you will still have to wait. What's the point of making an appointment? The young ladies that work here are very rude and they will get attitude with you if you complain or request a change. I quit coming here for a while due to the loud potty mouth girls they had working here. It was so unbearable to come in here for nails and have to listen to them. They were SO awful, just cussing out loud and talking about their sexual and drunken escapades. It made everyone in the room SO VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Just trash! But it looks as though they are gone now-- finally fired (about time!) So now I (and my friends) come here ALL the time. Ivy is the BEST--- and so is Carlos (her brother?) They do an EXCELLENT job-- and in peace and quiet. I wonder how much business they lost due to those two young ghetto girls. Wow. Everyone was very friendly and my pedicure turned out pretty.  I am giving this only one star (and will never return) because of these things:1. The gentleman did my gel nails, which started turning bad on the edges overnight and I had to go back the next morning.  He fixed them free and told me it was because he hadn't gotten the area right.  Then later that afternoon, in the sunlight, I realized he hadn't fixed it at all.  I would have gone back yet again, but I had to put on a suit and get on an airplane for Boston.  (That's why I had my nails done in the first place.).2. The experience of a pedicure should be relaxing with the massage, etc.  I got maybe 1 minute of it.3. When I asked the gentleman if he saw the nail area that was troubling me, he did not respond.  I asked again, very politely - no response.  I asked again, "Do you see?"  Then he impatiently nodded and said nothing.4. End of the next day, one thumb was peeling off.  End of day after that one finger was peeling off.Those of you who are rating this well, did you get one of the ladies and not the gentleman?  He did tell me very nicely to come back and he would fix it if I had any problems.  Too late, sir.  Far too late.I cannot figure out why everyone is rating this highly unless they got one of the ladies and not the gentleman. I have tried 2-3 different nails spa in Santa Fe and I thought of giving this place a try for a change. I made a good choice. As you can see from other people's reviews as well, I liked Paige's work. She worked on my nails diligently - both manicure and pedicure and I liked the fact that it was not done hastily, but more like an art or treating them as your own nails. I should mention that I had a micro-injury when she was cutting my cuticles during manicure , and a little blood came out. This has happened in other salons too, but they didn't seem to care and continued polishing my nails anyways. But here Paige quickly put a disinfectant/antiseptic liquid on the injured area and was careful about it. Overall a clean and good salon but not the very best.Good luck. Read Less

This place is not for the faint of heart. I had seen other yelpers talking about how inappropriate the technicians were and I went anyway as it was the closest place on my road trip route.I gave the place two stars in lieu of one because at least they got polish on my nails (a very, very thin paint job) and the older technicians (the parents? The owners?) were very kind.They only get two stars because of the really disrespectful customer service. I slammed my foot in the car door on the way out and messed up two nails. After i got back in the chair, the girl who fixed my nails snapped at me and told me to "calm down" when I pretty calmly pointed out that two nails got dinged. I told her that I had seen on yelp that they were sassy in this salon and she agreed, "Yep! We're just a bunch of young women."In all, people who disrespect other people are usually disrespected themselves, so I was able to let it go and find some empathy for her. But, I repeat, this place is not for the faint of heart. If anyone is mean, remember to not take it personally. Their actions speak more about them than about you.My recommendation: find a kinder, better pedicure elsewhere. Read Less

My nails and toes look great, Christina and Carlos were very friendly and the cost was supreme for such a good job. Best affordable nail salon I've been to in Santa Fe. I asked to not have my cuticles cut and they didn't push it, just did as I asked, which is the first time THATS ever happened. I'll be going back next time I want my nails done. Read Less

The salon is clean and I've never experienced a very long wait (more than 10 min) even when they've been busy. The pedicures, both gel/shellac and regular, that I've gotten have always lasted well and looked nice. The previous owner, Ivy, sold the business sometime in 2012 I think to her long time employee Carlos and his wife. They both do a nice job and their new employee V (a young man in his 20s) does really excellent work. Everyone speaks very good English and seems to understand when to converse with clients and when not to. Unfortunately, the weak link here is the daughter of the owners. While she is a pretty typical 20-something, her attitude really brings the atmosphere down. She's a bit loud and rough around the edges language-wise (and I'm not conservative, but it just doesn't seem to fit there). She is always complaining about the hours they work, or when she gets to go home. It feels a bit like she thinks this is a 'cool' thing that everyone does about their work, but when I'm paying some $25-35 for your service, and I tip you well, I don't want to hear all that. She can't seem to wait to get back to her smartphone between clients and because I've had pedicures done by literally everyone that works there (I've been a regular for years), I can definitely say hers are the least in quality. She doesn't seem to want to go to any extras and everything seems like an effort. The last time I was there I actually wondered if this was going to be a deal-breaker for me and whether I'd look elsewhere. If I were more friendly with Carlos, I might suggest that he speak with her about professionalism.
