Wanted to love this place as my good friend has lovely experiences here. My experience was more difficult. Happy staff, but less than desirable results. Thick, Hispanic hair should be a staple knowledge for Santa Fe, but ended up leaving like I was an anomaly with cookie cutter cut @ marmish brown color (after 3 hours, second visit - looking for a change). Recently, I had a hospital stay. My hair was too long, and my gray was showing. I knew getting my hair done would make me feel better, so I called Chrome. From the moment I made until the moment I exited the salon, I felt taken care of. When I hobbled in, the receptionist offered me a seat on a cozy sofa. She also offered me a choice of beverage( water, coffee, or tea). It's the little things that count when choosing a salon. I was greeted by my stylist, Gabbi Valdez, who ... walked me over to her station. She was so understanding of my needs. She is kind and compassionate. Besides her personality, she rocks. She showed me color samples, and completely explained how she was going to color and cut my hair. She took in consideration how I like to style my hair when I am home. She always asked my opinion throughout the process. I would highly recommend Gabbi to everyone looking for a compassionate hair stylist who puts the client first. I discovered Chrome Salon just driving by and had been dreaming of finding a blow out bar after washing my hair in hard water earlier that morning. Jasmine was kind enough to slip me in as a walk in. My experience with her was absolutely the best. She's so knowledgeable and does excellent work. My hair absolutely needed a bit of TLC. My only regret is that I live out of state. Owner made a major mistake with the cutting of my hair. She does not think so by judging from these photos, however I reserve the right to be my own judge (see photos). Granted she offered to fix it even after a few weeks of the actual cut (I was gone out of the country for 4 weeks right after the initial cut), but even then, that would mean my hair being shorter all around sooner then when I wanted it. Please note: I like long hair. Therefore I asked for a re-cut at a later date to MY liking (seems fair enough to me if anyone asks...), or a partial refund (I paid $240 dollars that day of my cut with color etc. FYI: I asked for only $60 back), or I suggested she could make me feel better by doing a little extra color. Unfortunately she stuck to her guns of her policies and her repeated mention that she extended her policy to me by 30 days. Well, I am sorry, that offer did not meet MY needs. After all...this is not an item but MY hair...part of MY body. Again...I like long hair and its winter coming! Even after I mentioned that legally I had the right for a refund (a lawyer friend educated me on this). Holding on to 60bucks was more important to her than making her customer somehow happy after she miss-cut my hair. I had mentioned my casual conversation with my lawyer friend to her as my last resort in the hope to make a point, that I had some rights beyond what her policies are. But she got defensive and then decided to refuse all services now and in the future to me. How ridiculous! Anyhow, it may sounds as if I have grievances but I am actually OK. Things happen in any profession...all I wanted that she would come a small step toward what I wanted instead of being pressed into HER policies only. I have no interest to follow up legally over 60$. I NEVER before have written a negative review, but this situation unfortunately earned it. I would not be surprised if she would add to this review a long something something something....Let me respond in advance. Dear Jessica, Please take the time to listen to your clients. I can't say enough good things about this salon, it's owner Jessica and master stylist Molly! It's a beautiful place to spend a couple (or in my case many) hours. Everyone is helpful, fun and sweet. These girls go above and beyond to make me feel gorgeous every time I'm there. They've mastered my blonde and helped me have fun with purple hair for awhile!!! I called for an emergency appointment (my second visit to Chrome) after trying to cut my own hair. My drive to the salon was tearful to say the least. I had butchered my hair and couldn't feel any lower. I didn't know how I was going to face the rest of my weekend. I didnt even want to admit my mistake. Chrome Salon welcomed me gently and with jessica's suggestions and skill I was able to leave with confidence in my hair again.Priceless. I trust Jessica with my life,I mean hair! I came in not knowing what cut I wanted, except soemthing more polished, professional, and modern...whatever that means.
