First impressions: clean establishment with young staff who spoke excellent English. They have SNS and cat eyes gel polish, which makes them unique. Prices are comparable to other nail salons in the area. The only thing I disliked was that they ask you to walk across the room to wash your hands after nails are buffed. It is not ideal to walk across the floor when you also just had a pedicure and you're barefoot. Other salons simply have a bowl to rinse your fingers at the station. I was really excited to try this place since it was so close to my new house. I walked in without an appointment around 9am (the time they advertise that they open). I was seated immediately in a spa chair for a gel mani pedi and told someone would be with me shortly. I noticed that it was just the owner who was there. She started complaining about her staff and how they were never on time. Her staff started strolling in around 945. I mean her complaining about her business to a new customer was clearly unprofessional to begin with but if that's the case maybe change your advertised business hours or change your staff. I was there for 2.5 hours for a simple gel mani and pedi because there was only one person working on me. It took way too long. The work was clean and decent but nothing that required that much time. Ultimately, I had a good experience at Luxury Nails but my feelings are mixed as I leave this review. They had four women waiting in water for several minutes as they were understaffed and are one of the fewer places open on Sundays. If you go to their website luxurynailsnm.com it says a pedicure is $17 alone. I paid $35 for a mani and pedi, so it makes you wonder. Justin is a very skilled manicurist. I really enjoyed talking to him. He was professional and made my nails perfect. As far as pricing and experience, I wish there was more clarity. Read Less

I finally let my daughter talk me into going to see Oscar, I live in Los Lunas and didn't want to make the trip. Well I am so happy I did. I usually go in with no idea what I want. How I feel when I go to see Oscar at Luxury nails:  what Vivian wants, Vivian gets!  I really wish every nail salon could cater to my (sometimes) ridiculous whims as Oscar does for me.I was referred to Oscar via my dental hygienist.  She mentioned a talented, nail artist that free-handed awesome designs.  After a slight delay in giving other nail salons attempts to give me designs I wanted, I finally made the jump and came to Oscar, and I'm very glad that I did.Oscar is really personable, polite, and easy to talk to.  I show him designs I want and he does them. Simple, stellar, and straightforward - this is what every good business should be.  The kicker is that he does them very well (just look at the stunning marble design he did for me  included in this review!), and prices are reasonable. I usually text/facebook message to make my appointments with Oscar which has worked well in the past.  When I'm there getting my nails done, I hear the staff and/or Oscar answering the phone for appointments as well in a timely fashion.  A note about walk-ins: they do accept walk-ins, but I would recommend making an appointment to avoid the wait as this place can get very busy at random times.  Also, Oscar is a nail-art genius and the secret is spreading quickly!! I went to this place because I saw the reviews and thought it was better salon then other nail salons near me, when I went their I found out they have new owners. I got an acrylic nails and they started to falling out after a week and half and I got gel nail pedicure and it chipped away the next day, I spend over $70!! I went to Oscar about a year and a half ago and it was the best decision I made. Not only does he keep my nails healthy, he also has the skills and talent to do some of the most creative looks I have requested. It means a lot when you are indecisive and you have a nail tech who loves what they do so much that they make recommendations for you. He never steers me wrong. Don't go here. Seriously, you may as well just throw your money away. Got a gel manicure on Saturday, by Monday it already looked like crap. He missed sides of some nails, painted on top of cuticles on others, didn't even paint the very ends of my nails. By Monday already had polish peel off in a couple places (where it touched skin).  No one there can do nail art. Pedicure was fine. I took my mom here the day after Mother's Day. We both got pedicures and I got her a full set of nails. We both loved it. Walk-ins are welcome but I made a same day appointment (which was a bonus) and I'm glad I did. It got VERY busy a little after our pedicures were over. I never do reviews but I saw the first review for this place and had to do it some justice. My toes look very cute and I usually don't even wear any toe nail polish.
