They do REALLY good work. That can’t be denied. However I feel I was doubled charged & I’m not happy about that. I went in for a fill & when I checked out, I was charged extra for “shaping” my nail. My nail was shaped @ my first visit (which I paid for). So to touch up the shape so it looks nice apparently is a charge. My nails weren’t cut down or anything. Simply shaped neatly, nothing out of the ordinary. I didn’t go from coffin to stiletto; same shape. Then I was charged for long nails, BUT you already charged me for length at my first visit. My full set was $120. What does length have to do with a fill? You’re only filling in the growth, not the whole nail. My refill was $70 from $45 which it says when you make an appointment. So I needed a quick gel manicure since I was tired of looking at my hands like they needed a job. I found Rose Lounge on Google and read their reviews. I’m the type that reads all the bad reviews first. But they had more positive ratings, so I decided to give it a chance. 2 blocks from my job which was amazing. I called at 530ish to see if they had an availability for today. They put me in for 6. I arrived ASAP because nail salons are always packed in union city, esp the ones I decide to go to . Anyway, I am greeted and given a variety of colors to choose from. I chose my color and was called in a few minutes after. Martha was kind and had a sweet smile to her, very adorable shorty lol . I was concerned her nails would g t in the way, but she was a pro! I’m always afraid of getting cut and she did a fab job as well. I came here about a month ago with my friend since my go to nail tech travels to LA and NYC often working with Rihanna, and I had acrylic done. I went in again 10 minutes ago and these ladies had a huge issue with me not being in the system and apparently the smell of acrylic and the filing could tell these employees if it were their products or not. I call utter BS. They refused service on my nails. I don't waste my time with mediocre and tacky businesses like this, so I left. They are a bit too conceited for their own good. Found about this nail salon on instagram, the inside is so cute and clean i loved the decor- also it is by appointment only and no kids are allowed which is great for a mom trying to relax. They basically have every color you can think of and a great Opi gel selection of colors. They also have a reward program, I gave 4 stars because my appt was at 3pm and I wasn't taken until 3:25pm, besides that the service was wonderful and my nail tech Martha was thorough and professional. I've debated all night and morning to write a review, and I just have to do it ! I feel like this really needs to be addressed. I went to my appointment yesterday morning. It was originally scheduled for today(made my Paula who is the owner, who is a sweet heart) but I had a snow day at work so decided to go a day earlier. I called to schedule the new appointment and the receptionist had me on hold for 10 minutes ! She forgot I was on the phone!!!!!!!!! I hear her laughing, talking in the background to the other staff. While a customer was on the phone!!!! Then I call back and she answers right away. I asked if their were any appointments today. She schedules me for a new full set, and gel pedicure. I even received the text notifications with my appointment details. I show up; doesn't even look up at my to greet me. And tells me to have a seat. 20 minutes later she asks for my name and then a nail tech comes to get me. They sit me in a regular seat, asking what I want ??? Uhm I scheduled for a gel pedicure and then a new set. Rachel, one of the nail techs told me to go talk to the receptionist cause "she doesn't know". The receptionist told me she only had me in for a "gel manicure" and couldn't find my canceled appointments, that she made !!!?l for today. She continued to roll her eyes at me the entire time until she figured out where SHE made the mistake. Just a little tip Paula, if you want to have a successful business. You really need to start with your receptionists: they are the first people that we all deal with on the phone and in person. I have gone there several times and have waited there minimum 30 min. One time I was there and the owner forgot I was there and I waited extra time for no reason because the girl was available. The last time I went and I brought it to the owners attention she gave me an attitude and told me I didn’t need to go there. That there are plenty of nail salons around. So. I went here because my regular salon was completely booked for a last minute nail sesh. I heard and read somewhat good reviews but pictures showed good artistry...I was taken right away. Pedicure was good, the lady nicked me but I just brushed it off because it was very little. I had to do a complete soak off because THEY DO NOT ACCEPT WORK FROM OTHER SALONS. I had to pay for that too. Okay.. I knew that because I read that on the site. Moving on.My nail tech was named Leidy. She's fairly new she said 1year? Now I don't discriminate. So I let her do work.3 hrs later with a mess. Bubbles, THICK acrylic, uneven lengthI mentioned to her that it was uneven and long but she told me "hmm no it's not" ugh. Alright giving her the benefit of the doubt. But after awhile I'm growing tired and now she's pouting herself. She nicks me a couple of times but whatever didn't think it was a big deal...  I told her I wanted short nails. Just keep length as is because I work in the hospital. Then I see her adding tips? I said no I don't want that, and so she said when she applies acrylic she just has to make it a little longer. Why? No idea. So whatever I go along with it. Anyways I originally didn't want blue acrylic lol I asked if they can do a basic acrylic set and apply gel color on top and she said "no we don't do that" and then another lady explained to me that it would be "too thick" NOW at my regular salon I don't have a problem. They do work. Artistry is selected among the techs but they assure nail definition and shape. AT THIS SALON, ACRYLIC APPLIED WAS WAY TOO THICK SO I CAN IMAGINE WHY THEY SAID NO TO GEL. My coworkers said I look like I had cartoon nailsWhen my nails were finished, I didn't think it was that bad until after I paid with card and walked out into sunlight.. I was contemplating about going back but...I HAD TO. So I went back and addressed my concerns.1.) DO NOT PAY WITH CARD. Why, because with the job they did they WILL NOT PAY YOU BACK. Possibly with cash they would. (I call bull)2.) I got charged for nail extensions. Lmao say what. I DIDNT WANT THEM. "but it's policy to have them"SO WHY ARE YOU SEPARATING THE CHARGE?! (It's policy even if I don't want them?)3.) At first they offered $35 credit.. gtfo that's probably not even enough money to remove the mess they did. (I paid almost $200 btw (-)$45 of pedicure and oh yeah the charge separately for gel polish that was an extra $15-$20)3.) They offered to fix it but I would have to wait 2hrs or more because they have clients atm. And it's difficult to schedule because I have 3 jobs. Then they make it seem like it's my problem that I can't find that time to get them fixed. WELL I WOULDNT HAVE TO IF IT WAS DONE CORRECTLY4.) Then they offered me $185 credit which was great. But to be realIt's not even worth it. It's so not worth it.God bless the manager tho because she did have good customer service. It's just unfortunate I had no time. But you know what, if the job was done the first time correctly. Shouldn't had been a problem in the first place.OH TAKE NOTE. Another reason why I REFUSE to come back. Is they charge you for EVERYTHING. Soak off? Charged. Gel polish? Another charge. Oh nail design? Yeah per finger. Oh stones? Yeah that's separate from design that's charge too. Finally decided to go here and I'm so mad I wasted my time. I made an appointment for 2:30 and was told if I was 15 min late I'd be charged. I showed up 15 min early and waited 30 min and still was t seen. No one told me there would be a wait or apologized. When I asked if I would get a free service or nail design I was told no. This place is AMAZING! First the receptionist Angie is a doll. Andrea with her gel mani/pedi was always very sweet and prompt in taking me once i got there. Linda took care of my nieces nails and she loved hers, very quick and quality work. I decided to get my first full set in at least 5 years, and luckily for me Paula's work has me still staring at them from how beautiful they look. She was pleasant, paid attention to detail, and the quality of the work is way more than 5 stars. She was super busy when i was there, but that did not deter her from doing an amazing job. So, let's start with...I'm a regular at Rose Nails Lounge! I have been very fortunate to have had my first mani w Andrea. She does a beautiful job on my nails and has crazy skills. I'm that person that always asks for crazy gel designs. She always hooks me up! I was turned off by Bergenline traffic and parking but now schedule my appts around that and it's so much easier! There Is parking in the back. I love the ambience, it's when I can get away from my family and just hang with the girls and listen to music and watch music videos. All of the girls are friendly and very "homegirl" type. I've been going since I was pregnant and all of the ladies there now ask about my little one and Angie always greets me w a hug. The first time I called for an appt...I told her I found them on IG. She asked if I have ever been and I said no...she says..."oh, you're gonna love it! I can't wait til you come" She was right! The prices are really great too! $30 for a gel manicure is unheard of for a really good one. I've paid $50 at other places and got some janky service!! I called the day of to make an appointment for a full set and I am so happy I did!First off, the salon is spotless and gorgeous. The environment is so inviting and the receptionist was very sweet. I had an appointment with Rachel and had to wait about 15 minutes before being seen. Once Rachel was ready to service me, she apologized for the wait and offered me some coffee and water. I really appreciated how courteous she was. I really enjoyed our conversation while she did my nails and I loved that she showed me different color options for my ombré French set. She is super detail oriented and took her time filing my nails and making sure my cuticles looked perfect. She was very attentive throughout the entire process, making sure that I wasn't uncomfortable when she was drilling and filing my nails, and making sure I was satisfied with how my nails turned out. This nail salon is glitzy and glamorous, and the staff is very attentive. I was very happy with the hours (they are open the latest in the area) and I had a gel manicure done by Marta. Marta paid close attention to all the details, she was friendly, and she was experienced. I would highly recommend you give this place a shot! By far the best nail salon in the area. I will no longer be going to my old nail salon, after he wonderful experience I had here. However, they charge (a small charge, $5) for gel polish removal which makes sense if you're not getting a gel manicure, but typically when you are, salons don't charge. I was very excited to try this salon that Mayors fiancé raved about during work yesterday. However, when I got there they told me that they wouldn't work on my nails since I have gotten gel put on at around salon. My nails are long and my own I maintain them by placing a gel coat over them but they turned my business down. I guess it would be the same for eyelashes too. I LOVE this nail salon! I found them on IG and decided to try them a month ago. I got a full set, pedicure, then came back for a refill about 2 weeks ago, and I just left after having the acrylic removed and a gel manicure! Really wanted to love this place. It's beautiful. Receptionist is very friendly. Walked in at 10 and the earliest appointment was 2 (which was fine). Showed up at 155 and was told to pick a color. The woman that was going to do my nails said she we be back in ten minutes for a quick lunch which I agreed to. I found it super annoying that they have this seemingly rigid schedule of appointments yet they don't have lunch time for their employees. Nonetheless, I sat in my chair and told myself "you got here early but your appointment is at two. Give her 10 minutes". I did that and a little more. At 2:16 I got a little fed up and just dried my feet and notified the receptionist I was leaving. Normally I let things like this go in hood spots (because what can you expect) but this seemed like a nice place with structure and courtesy. Service is Extremely slow. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon at 2:24pm and asked how long it would be to get a Gel Manicure - the receptionist said 30 mins but you'd need to wait 10 mins for someone to attend you. Ok great, sounds normal. I told her I had gel on currently and I needed to remove/soak - so ideally, I can soak/remove while I wait. I waited for someone to come get me and its now 2:40pm. There was nobody waiting ahead of me. Just 8 manicurists working on 7 girls. One woman had 2 manicurists working on her at the same time...?The manicurist proceeded to sit me in the chair to wrap my gells off - I sat there for an HOUR - Its now 3:53pm (!!!!!) and the manicurist is now ready for me. She was attending someone else. Now that she's working on me, she proceeds to file my nails without even asking me if I wanted to file or cut my nails. (Manicurists always ask this ...its customary) She filed all of my nails down to almost nothing - I noticed after the 3rd nail so then it was too late to undo this. The worse part was that she filed all of my nails on a slant, crooked and the edges were sharp. I honestly thought she was kidding when she started to paint my nails - I immediately stopped her and asked her to please round off my edges and make my nails even and straight. It took her about 2 rounds to do so because they were still crooked and sharp on the edges. I get my nails done in NYC every month and have NEVER experienced such backwards work in a salon. I've never had to ask a nail tech or manicurist to straighten my nails or make sure the edges aren't sharp - its honestly the first time I have ever asked someone to please correct filing. The manicurist was a nice girl and she did so without complaining - I appreciated her patience as well.From start to finish, my "regular gel manicure" took 2 HOURS AND TEN MINUTES. The actual painting and filing was about 22 minutes - the rest was waiting. and waiting...and waiting....and waiting... and more waiting... The location is beautiful - brand new salon with state of the art chairs and technology, but if you're in a hurry or looking to be in and out in a normal 30 mins, I certainly do not suggest you try this place. Also, as I sat there, I noticed that they specialize in acrylic nail design - powders and swarovski crystals galore - looks amazing, but not once was I asked if I was interested in hearing about the designs, crystals and technique. Stumbled upon this new nail salon lounge on the day of their opening, and I was surprised to see they had availability due to their high clientele list and was pleasant to be attended to, promptly.  I was impressed with their techy feel as I have never seen charging ports in the pedicure chair or an ipad attached to it, additionally they have phone/tablet chargers by each nail station which is a great convenience.  Went back on a whim a month later, was lucky enough to have an opening just under an hour for a mani/pedi session, which was just as great experience as the first time.I love the ginormous mirror with the quote "mirror mirror on the wall" and the seating area shaped like a picture frame with a picture of Marilyn Monroe blowing a bubble gum.  Overall the experience and space is up to my liking and i'll definitely go back again sometime soon. You get exactly what you ask for with no if, and or buts! I used to go to Rose nails when i was in high school, and they were good then but what did i know? Since then I've gone to several other places. I have a regular guy i go to, but a couple weeks ago i needed emergency repair of a badly broken and painful nail. My guy was completely booked for the next few days (even for me) !?!
